People who are privileged enough to live with their parents need to leave the retail and restaurants jobs behind. If you don’t have important bills to pay, there’s no reason to subject yourself to that degree of humiliation.

I live with my parents but still work in fast food. It is sort of the best situation for me because I've been working there for six years and they give me the hours I want. I'm in college for Computer Science and also learning SQL and coding on the side, and this consumes a lot of my time and energy. What I like about my job is that when I ask for more or less hours, they always give me the schedule I want. I also don't find the job humiliating at all. My boss treats me well and my coworkers are fine. Most of the customers are tolerable. The only downside is that my boss's boss hates me, but he is rarely there anyway because he spends most of his time at another resraurant. Of course the ideal situation would be to not work, but my parents are broke and need some financial help from me. They don't ask for much - I have hardly any bills, but I still have to pay $225 per month for my meds since my insurance won't cover it, $400 to my parents for rent, and also buy my own food, clothing, and anything else I might need or want. I'm a full-time college student studying Computer Science and I think it would be ideal to not work at all, but the only way to do that is to take out more loans or drain my savings. I also don't drive so my job options are limited. The job is exhausting though. This is why I don't want to exceed 25 hours per week. I consider it a waste of time to work more than that because of how tired I get from that job.

Both of my grandfathers were the sole money makers for their families, both had a wife, BOTH had 9 children, BOTH of them had a house, AND at least 1 acre of land with a full garden.
I'm making 10x the amount of money my grandparents did, and I STILL CAN'T AFFORD A SHITTY APPARTMENT for myself! (Owning a house is a pipe dream)
And SOMEHOW republicans and billionaire simps try to make me believe it's MY FAULT 🤦‍♂️ and in the same breath praise corporations for making record breaking profits while their employees starve (Look at Walmart. 65% or more of their employees are on social welfare programs despite how many billions they bring in)

Poor Lives Matter -- there's a movement that I can definitely support! Economic inequality has become the elephant in the room not just here in the US, but pretty much all over the world. When the billionaire class is raking in record profits while 80% of the population has to do more with less, it's hard to escape the feeling that life has become a dystopian sci-fi flick. I've said before that addressing economic inequality is pretty much the early 21st century's answer to the civil rights movement.

The Ukraine War definitely impacts food prices, Ukraine was a huge producer of wheat and grain. I believe the 4th largest producer of wheat in the World and they exported much of it. Now they barely grow enough for themselves. Russia was the 2nd largest exporter of wheat in the World and the sanctions stopped them from shipping it out to the rest of the planet. That loss of supply has to be made up somehow, and the US being the largest exporter is trying to fill that gap, which means more people trying to get our wheat and grain.

Currently, I live in Tijuana, Mexico and I cross the border every day for work in San Diego. If you have a passport, I suggest leaving the states and moving to Mexico in Mexico. They have cheap and affordable rent here. There's a lot of places that charge only $500 to $400 a month in rent, depending where you live. If you want to pay American prices, however, you can live in a nice gateway community with all the amenities. Currently, my rent is only $450 per month. And I live in Tijuana, but we're constantiago. Where I get $20 an hour so pretty much. I'm rich just by living down here. If you wanna talk to me more about it just hit me up in the comments section
