No One Wants to Work Anymore | if we cannot afford to eat, we cannot afford to work

- Food prices have been steadily increasing since 2020 due to a combination of factors, including:
Inflation
Labor costs
Supply chain issues
The war in Ukraine
Avian flu outbreak
Low cattle inventory
High production costs
People who are privileged enough to live with their parents need to leave the retail and restaurants jobs behind. If you don’t have important bills to pay, there’s no reason to subject yourself to that degree of humiliation.
Exactly, they should use that privilege to start going into trades.
Nah... the most humiliation is working a corporate job. 😳
@@DavidCardonethose are going to immigrants
Yeah, but they also want to buy some luxury goods for themselves so
I live with my parents but still work in fast food. It is sort of the best situation for me because I've been working there for six years and they give me the hours I want. I'm in college for Computer Science and also learning SQL and coding on the side, and this consumes a lot of my time and energy. What I like about my job is that when I ask for more or less hours, they always give me the schedule I want. I also don't find the job humiliating at all. My boss treats me well and my coworkers are fine. Most of the customers are tolerable. The only downside is that my boss's boss hates me, but he is rarely there anyway because he spends most of his time at another resraurant. Of course the ideal situation would be to not work, but my parents are broke and need some financial help from me. They don't ask for much - I have hardly any bills, but I still have to pay $225 per month for my meds since my insurance won't cover it, $400 to my parents for rent, and also buy my own food, clothing, and anything else I might need or want. I'm a full-time college student studying Computer Science and I think it would be ideal to not work at all, but the only way to do that is to take out more loans or drain my savings. I also don't drive so my job options are limited. The job is exhausting though. This is why I don't want to exceed 25 hours per week. I consider it a waste of time to work more than that because of how tired I get from that job.
If a job is "about helping people", why don't employer start with helping employees. Are employees not people? Help them with a living wage
Nepotism and connections are real factors in getting better positions out there.
Affirmative action too.
Both of my grandfathers were the sole money makers for their families, both had a wife, BOTH had 9 children, BOTH of them had a house, AND at least 1 acre of land with a full garden.
I'm making 10x the amount of money my grandparents did, and I STILL CAN'T AFFORD A SHITTY APPARTMENT for myself! (Owning a house is a pipe dream)
And SOMEHOW republicans and billionaire simps try to make me believe it's MY FAULT 🤦♂️ and in the same breath praise corporations for making record breaking profits while their employees starve (Look at Walmart. 65% or more of their employees are on social welfare programs despite how many billions they bring in)
Well said. My father drove a bus in the 80s and owned the same house as PhD engineers do today. Adults have been asleep at the wheel since the 60s
But redditors will tell you it's up to you make it work regardless.
@@gwills9337They weren't asleep at the wheel. They were awake and aware the whole time.
They climbed the financial ladder, pulled it up behind them, lit the thing on fire, and threw the ashes in our eyes.
I definitely feel like I'm trapped at the bottom 😭
me too cause my company cant find $80k employees so I can get promoted
Poor Lives Matter -- there's a movement that I can definitely support! Economic inequality has become the elephant in the room not just here in the US, but pretty much all over the world. When the billionaire class is raking in record profits while 80% of the population has to do more with less, it's hard to escape the feeling that life has become a dystopian sci-fi flick. I've said before that addressing economic inequality is pretty much the early 21st century's answer to the civil rights movement.
Poor lives matter is a much more significant issue than Black Lives Matter any day of the weak and I supported Black Lives Matter in the past…
Millennial Steam, This made me laugh so hard, thanks for sharing!

I'm stuck working full time in retail. I have two degrees. It's so fucking degrading knowing that I'm more knowledgeable than 90 percent of the idiots that walk into that store, but yup. Trapped right at the bottom. I only eat once a day and I still barely can afford to live, and its not like I'm over eating. I've drastically lost weight over the last year. Guess thats one bonus.
Skinny poor
I am a boomer who was abused for decades in the workplace. I was twice fired for no reason given and was consistently the top producer in both companies. Go figure. I could tell stories for hours, but I won't. I laughed until I cried with this presentation. Someone gets this horror show.

Corporate America is a SICK place. I have been there too. They promote LAZY, INCOMPETENT, LOSERS because Bosses like the way they make them FEEL!!! They screw up and ask people like us to work hard and fix their problems and when they do get fixed you get FIRED!!! What makes Corporate America so DISGUSTING is that they look at HARD WORKING PRODUCERS as SUCKERS!!! TO HELL WITH CORPORATE AMERICA!!!
When you mentioned about them getting angry on your lunch break, I can fully empathize with that.
My boss used to always do this to me when I was working. Was super annoying.
I’ve known a few people that I feel are trapped in the same job because they had kids too young and the other partner didn’t really stick around.
This was so funny. Nice video
Gee whiz- I hope people are coming together and starting communities to grow food because the military state has finally abandoned us...
The CPI does not include gasoline, utilities, housing, and medical care. All the necessities of life are sky high. Meanwhile, the cost of a 70 inch television, not exactly a necessity, is cheaper than its ever been.
Agree. Today while at the doctor's office this came up, tv is super cheap but medical care is NOT
Capitalism and human dignity do not mix
“Forever wars” - the two most frightening words in the prol world.
As long as there is profit to be made, there always going to be poor people fighting
Collect welfare 800$ a month. No thank work for slave wage. Good luck. Im sitting home collecting , good money. 😂😂😂😂😂
The Ukraine War definitely impacts food prices, Ukraine was a huge producer of wheat and grain. I believe the 4th largest producer of wheat in the World and they exported much of it. Now they barely grow enough for themselves. Russia was the 2nd largest exporter of wheat in the World and the sanctions stopped them from shipping it out to the rest of the planet. That loss of supply has to be made up somehow, and the US being the largest exporter is trying to fill that gap, which means more people trying to get our wheat and grain.
When was the last time you bought a food item that said "Made in Ukraine" on it though?
I work prol hours.
Im at work during church time. Am i going to be condemned to prol hell if this happens? I just want to be saved.
I like your content a lot and I would share your videos with everyone if you would dial back the "Suzie Rotten Crotch" thing a bit... that kind of thing is going to limit your reach, which is a shame because you have a good message.
He could just abbreviate.

Private Equity groups own most of the businesses. They finance debt 80%-90% to buy out a business.
Now, the interest rate goes up, they have to pump their prices up too.
And the reason companies keep say we are hiring but hire nobody because they continue to build up their pool of candidates. It makes them look good too.
Eating has always been a luxury worldwide in every period of human history. We are living in the first time period where prols could eat the same food as say the US president.
Older presidents missed out on Mountain Dew, pizza and Doritos.

Hey, bro, I've been watching your channel for a few. Must know and I just want to give you an idea to help you. Maybe live a better life and make more money. Currently, I live in Tijuana, Mexico and I cross the border every day for work in San Diego. If you have a passport, I suggest leaving the states and moving to Mexico in Mexico. They have cheap and affordable rent here. There's a lot of places that charge only $500 to $400 a month in rent, depending where you live. If you want to pay American prices, however, you can live in a nice gateway community with all the amenities. Currently, my rent is only $450 per month. And I live in Tijuana, but we're constantiago. Where I get $20 an hour so pretty much. I'm rich just by living down here. If you wanna talk to me more about it just hit me up in the comments section
"heavily processed foods" shouldn't be called foods at all. And if we actually ate food, it's not that expensive.
Kraft cheese, or whatever they make that crap out of
Learn to shoplift
But not from from mom and pop stores. Target Walmart and target Target. 😂
Pink taco. Funny.
They must be $100k jobs cause i cant get anyone to quit to mow lawns for $80k
14.50 an hour minimum wage. It's 7.25 in Texas so imagine being here....
Colorado's minimum wage in denver co. Is $18.30. The only thing is the weather changes almost constantly. And the state just informed us that they have set up Roth act's. for everyone and funds are automatically being taken from your check. Oh that's nice.
It is only a paltry $7.25 in NC

I eat Rice every day because it so cheap, and i like it so thats a plus. If the job is customer oriented, then the CEO can take a pay cut for his workers so the price can stay low right?
i'd join the PLM movement ✊
Same here I’ll be there
What is a good town in Arizona, Flagstaff is good?
I love Flagstaff. Buts it expensive.
Production costs? Stuff is more expensive because stuff is more expensive. Circular logic.
If more land is bought up. And there are 1 million more people in your country every year. The supply demand equilibrium will catch up through price corrections. You are being squeezed.
Overpopulation and inflation has ruined humanity.
These are the same people saying urgently hiring, desperately hiring(mostly groceries stores doing this). But when you take chances with these companies either they tell you to submit an application or they are so quick to tell you, “oh no we’re not hiring” or they decline you if you submit an application even online. Like make up your mind your hiring or not
Is it true that some full time workers in a*erica can't even afford to eat everyday or eat ramen or something pitifull like that? Or this is exaggeration?
It's exaggeration, typically people who complain are buying only prepared meals which are overpriced (also taxed) and make you sick. You see this a lot on CalebHammer's show where people spend 20-30% of their income on eating out. You can buy a 5lb bag of flour for $5 and make your own bread, but most people don't know how to cook.
😊
Eating is definitely a luxury since the pandemic 4 years ago
Plandemic
Hahah.. yeah something I’ve been seeing and going through since 2009. 😂 It’s just worse now.
I bet you'd be a fun guy to talk with.
If the po’ don’t eat research shows they die. This will reduce the # of workers which might boost pay due to labor shortages. This could be a way to raise wages.
Prols have always had less access to food. Under sleepy Joe we are just reverting back to the mean that was 98% of humans existence. Until the early 1900s, there was mass starvation for anyone who wasn't rich. Today if you are the rich, you eat well. And if you are unfortunate to be a prol, you don't eat.
Learn to cook. It's way cheaper and healthier than eating the "ready made" stuff or eating out. Here's a tip for meat. Grocery stores will mark down meat and fish when they get near the toss-out date. It's still good, just pop it straight into the freezer or oven when you get home. Keep your eyes out for their markdown labels and you can fill a freezer on the cheap.
I'm amazed that people will pay 4$ for pre cooked spaghetti meals 😂
I cook for myself: 1-2$ a meal is easy to do. You just need a little creativity.
Try google scholar
yeah she should be in an office making 3 times as much but she too lazy to change
oh, boo hoo i spend 30 bucks a week to eat learn how to cook and shop?
I cook. Last time I spent $30 on food, I walked out with some snacks. Nothing close to sufficient for cooking a meal
@@cricketycrickets3141 what are you buying? Beef $6/lb, potatoes $4/lb, flour $1/lb, bananas .78/lb... No tax either. You just have to buy seasoning and it lasts a long time.
Food isn't expensive you guys just refuse to be frugal. Rice, chicken, beef, oil, and salt. That's all you really need. Everything else you should grow yourself.
Yeah guys, just eat the same four items 3 times a day , every single day. So easy! Just accept being a poor pilgrim eating nothing but porridge while the dukes and lords feast.
Black pepper and water is too much salt only 😂
how many times does the price of something have to triple for you to consider it expensive?
