    Thanks for this video! Can we consider phased array technique as an automated ut method? Please help me with this point

      If someone knows Phase Array should not know AUT as the phase array comes from UT as well as other NDT methods.

    Studying in NDT, it seems easy from out side of the box, but to get certifications it's not that easy and it could cost over 10K easy inc. courses, exams, administration etc. if you could not pass retake the course in school ...

    There is no controlled cooling of the weld after the cap pass?

    • @clintg3435
      @clintg3435 Před 4 lety

      Not uncommon depending on material, welding procedure.

    why would you use UT in this application instead of RT? Speed? Safety?

    • @nikmak
      @nikmak Před 7 lety

      Likely both were used on a gas pipeline.

    all this work to test the weld yet the pipe itself is resting on janky ass broken pallets that probably move around while the pipes being welded

    • @richiejr5714
      @richiejr5714 Před 8 lety +1

      +loc ha the 10 miles of pipe are propped up on broken bords and pallets. i know how to shove a bunch off wood under a 10,000 lb pipe, im saying it can be done more legit. adjustable metal saw horses, hoists, ect. im certified in 6g mig, tig, stick, 232, ect. more than likely you would be doing the bitch work aka shoving bords under a pipe, while i weld.

      rofl. Broken pallets? Janky boards? Metal saw horses?
      You might be a killer welder, but you're no onshore pipeliner.
      Those are called "skids", and every land based pipeline I've ever been on uses them.
