CLIMBING DIARY #8 | Tafoni Granite in Corsica

We take a ferry from Italy to Corsica to sample the local rock for a couple of weeks. Around the city of Corte, the tafoni granite in the Restonica Valley produces some unique formations and beautiful walls. This is the place if you want to climb steep routes with good holds even in grades as low as 6a. Our visit gets cut a bit short, unfortunately, because the late autumn winds bring some unconsistent weather.

That last route´s head wall looked like the hallowed, Arapilesian bum-stone!

anything easy to climb as well? anything next to the sea ?

For sure, theres a lot of areas with easier stuff. Some crags by the sea, too. Can‘t remember the names right now, I recommend buying the guide „Falaises du Corse“ which is really good.
