- When I embarked Norwegian Prima in New York City I thought I knew what to expect. I took my first cruise with Norwegian when I was 11 years old and I’ve been on 9 Norwegian ships since then. It only took me a few seconds to realise though that this ship was very different to any of the ships I’d been on before.

As soon as I laid eyes on the ship I saw that there was a HUGE and terrifying-looking slide on the side of the ship. I almost didn’t believe my eyes but I also saw that there was a massive race track on the top deck. I’d later find out that this was a 3 storey go-kart track and I hoped that I would be brave enough to have a go on both the slides and the go-karts as the cruise went on.
When we boarded the ship we headed straight into the main atrium which definitely has a wow factor. It felt very open and bright and is split over 3 decks with different things on each level. I felt as though I was inside a space ship and I loved the colours and the lights. These stairs are just so much fun. It feels like you’re gliding up or down.
On this bottom level, there is a bar where we would often get a drink during the day and they’d play live music here too. All around the atrium are these funky glass vases and art definitely is a theme of this ship that you’ll see popping up throughout this tour.
Right beside the atrium is the Prima Theatre and Club. It’s not often that a theatre surprises me, most are pretty similar but this one really is different. We walked into the lowest level and were greeted with a huge and mostly empty room. Of course, it makes sense to wonder where the seats are and it turns out that they fold away and this space is used as a nightclub in the evening and theatre during showtime.
This is what it looks like in the normal theatre mode, and this is what it looks like later in the evening when it turns into an area called Studio 54. The seats were actually very comfortable which you probably wouldn’t expect for fold-away seats. All the seats down here have cupholders too which might not sound that important but it makes a big difference.
We saw some brilliant shows here including Donna Summer the Musical and The Price is Right, every show had lots of set pieces that cleverly popped up and disappeared when required. The lights on the ceiling were so cool, they would spin and put on amazing light displays especially when the area was being used as a club.
The theatre was also used for entertainment during the day so you’d find things like deal or no deal happening in here.
On the other side of the atrium is the casino which is actually non-smoking which is nice. It’s absolutely huge with lots of different tables and machines including this one which bounces the dice up and down which I thought was cool. I did do my usual $10 spend during the cruise but sadly didn't win anything this time.
There is a little room inside the casino for those who want to smoke which I think is a nice touch. The room has all the usual things you’ll find in the bigger casino room. It means those who want to smoke and gamble can, but not everybody has to smell the smoke like they do on a lot of cruise ships.

The best thing about this cruise was meeting Emma on board! Having said that, the Prima is pretty fantastic. We’ve cruised with a few cruise lines but NCL is definitely our favourite.

I actually recently went on the Prima! Everything from the food to the entertainment was all soooo good. The rooms were comfortable and clean, along with pretty much everywhere else on the ship. I was able to try out all the slides AND the go-karts and must say they are really awesome! I've previously gone on the Breakaway and really love traveling by ship. Can't wait for the other videos to get uploaded!!

Super jealous! We just did a NCL trip to Bermuda and Bar Harbor last week, but we were on the older (but recently refurbished) Norwegian Pearl. Had a great time, but we definitely must board the Prima!
The go cart track on the Norwegian Bliss was fun for me. Line was slower than expected when I went though. Was my first and so far only cruise in 2019. Rather inexperienced cruisegoer, but love your channel.

That is a massive ship Emma! Wow! Norwegian Cruise Lines doesn't have a big presence here in Florida as in other places. I see their ships once in a while depart Port Canaveral. I would definitely give the Prima a go if it was home ported here! I got to sail on MSC Seaside a week ago and it is one beautiful ship! The MSC Seaside Spa had almost everything you showed the Prima has. Enjoyed your video as always!

Truly elevated. Great insight with a different angle from others’ videos - Norwegian has become a cruise line I’d like to try - for the design and experience, maybe the food and drink will surprise in a positive way - at least there was no ketchup with pizza shown. This review looks like it took some time - awesome stuff - thank you! 😎

I would try the escape. During covid half the things were closed like the obstacle course and such and had to skip 2 islands, but it was somehow still very fun
