Yes we do. We do a show about raising a rare breed of dog name a Hovawart. First season was rough just holding iPhone XS in my hand. This new rig looks so user friendly. Yes. i have a viedo company that i want to start. i have a few videos up. but would like to be appear more professional. The Mic with the mic cover does sound a lot better.

definitely, the sound of the mic is a game-changer in my opinion. also, that's like a tank but useful!
This is a pretty sweet rig. If you were to assemble it separately from all the pieces you might end up spending close to that amount anyway. To add in the light, power bank, the mic, all the adapters, and a tripod, you could end up spending over $100 on stuff that is not quite as well-made. I have built a similar setup for myself, but the frame is not as sturdy and it doesn't have handles.
To all you small youtubers reading this, just the fact that you are here means you are trying to improve and you are in the process. Just never give up, you will make it too :D
I remember when smallrig used to be a small company only making cages for cameras. They've come such a long way and make some of the highest quality camera gear.
The other day daughter was telling me she wants to start creating content, here i am looking to get her started for Christmas...this was so helpful.

I shoot all my video on my Canon M50 with a gorillapod but if I were filming with my smartphone, I would totally use that stand. I mean, it even looks intimidating!
The smallrig mic was way better in my opinion in both. This video just convinced me to buy this rig. It has to be easier than the video I tried to make with just a phone leaning on a box, lol.

Yes! There is a noticeable difference! The shotgun mic supplied with the "SmallRig" sounds better IMO.
Thank you for this video! Right in my niche of minimalist smartphone creation for CZcams. SmallRig makes some awesome gear for sure! That ball head was impressive when you let it chill at an angle like that. The cheap ball heads would slap that rig on the table as soon as you let go. Or, even worse… hold until you hit record and THEN fall over while you’re filming lol

I know we content creators aren't supposed to get overly excited about new shiny objects, but this would have me creating videos with my phone just to use it everyday! Gotta have one!
There is a decent difference and think the mic would be handy. I think I need this kit! Because I have been using my phone since I started CZcams and still use it for everything.

There’s definitely a huge difference in audio you can’t tell when recording but when rewatching what you recorded you can tell the audio is more clear a little bit louder and the background wind noise is almost completely gone

When the mic is on and you are shooting wide angle the mic is in the shot. I like the setup though!
Hi Omar! I've tried at least 5 different microphones for iPhone (some recommended from this and other channel). While they seem to work ok the the sound is fine in CZcams studio, they sound low, muffled or sometimes distorted when actually watching on the channel. Is this something you have experience with and could cover in the future? What am I doing wrong? I use my iPhone 11 to record videos mostly. Is there any setting that would make it better than the other? It has been 'ok' using my onboard micfor upload and download and in all settings. The interesting thing is that the audio issues I have are usually with external microphones (wireless or not). By the way, which mic are you using in this video and how was it set up? I watched this video many times but I can't remember and don't want to rewatch just for that information :). Thank-you!
The external mic is so much better, both indoors and outdoors. Great little video promoting a good looking product. I will most certainly look into a purchase. As I do dog breeding videos, a zip line reality TV show, and sync to OBS for live streaming broadcast, this would be some much easier to use than having to set up my complete Canon XA50 rig. Good subject and share. Thank you.

For just a few dollars more to but a light and mic, you can have a DJI OM 4 gimbal. The gimbal can charge your phone and the stabilization is better than just handheld and you have features built into the gimbal.
The mic makes a significant difference esp outside. My guess is that the onboard mic is not as directional as an added shotgun mic

No doubt, indoors, the iPhone mic sounds definitely better. But the external mic is better outside.

Hello! Thanks for your video. I get confused with all the information we can find on CZcams and I'm still not sure what to do. I'm a complete beginner with filming and I'm looking at what gears to have to shoot with my iPhone 11 at home (like cooking videos). I've heard about all these things you can get to film like a pro such as the lenses, ND filters, rigs and so on but I'm still lost. What would you recommend ? thanks in advance

I built a similar rig. The only difference was I went with a full metal tripod and I use the ball head from from my fotopro travel tripod. Never had any luck with cheap small tripods as they simply do not handle the weight weill. Very good video.

I’m so grateful I came across your video. I have been looking and wanting a heavy duty aluminum, sturdy feel iPhone case to make videos with and yes lol, also use it for blogging. The thing that bugs me the most about other companies is most are plastic even in the hundred dollar $250 range. This is the first one I’ve seen one made out of aluminum and it looks and as far as I can tell can mount DSLR cameras as well as old-school video cameras. If you think there is some thing similar to this but maybe not quite so expensive I would appreciate your input. I don’t really need the light and I’m not sure if I need the mic either. I would like to buy the frame and attach it to a different base but I don’t know what other stands will work with that particular base. I don’t even know what it’s called. The mounting area that mounts onto a tripod etc,”., for this frame in particular. I’m used to seeing 1/4/20 or a cold foot attachment to tripod. Do you by any chance know what the sleeve is called for this frame? I’m not finding anything on their website either and whether or not it would fit with any other tripod, etc. if there’s any information you could give me about any of the questions I have above I would truly appreciate it. The clamp that holds the phone doesn't look very secure, does it slip out/off? Another video review mentioned without a "sticky" cellphone case his phone easily fell out of the holder... have this happened with your setup?

Most adapter might not work on the headphone jack for samsung. And most adapter might not work though usb c with charging and mic

The phone mic didn't isolate your voice as well. The phones mic made it harder on my ears especially with the wind.

I think having two hand grip is not required, I can get good stability by holding the tripod and just one grip.

The only way I could see this being improved is a multi axis gimble to stabilize shots where the camera is moving.

Mic is good stuff. They give you a lot, but way out of my price range. I got a few budget rigs I think work well for under $50
To my ears, there doesn’t seem to be much difference in the mics. I wonder if a future comparison might include a wireless mic like the Rode Wireless Go 2 you’ve reviewed a few times? There would definitely be a difference there. That would be an interesting baseline.
I love this kit, been using it but the microphone which come with is not good. A mic upgrade with made this kit to the next level 👍
