This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for about how crusading works, thank you! Got quickly frustrated with so many other recommended "experts" just saying turn it off or leave on auto. As an old school Heroes of Might and Magic fan, this looks right up my alley. Subscribed!
Thank you so much for your guides. Never thought I would have this much fun with this game (I did the right thing picking this up over King's Bounty 2), and the amount of details that you have in your guide are definitely allowing me to have a very good time with this aspect of the game.
If you want to save your weak glass cannon units like Marksmen, leave them out of fights where enemy general spams spells or has units that just one shots your marksmen. Most likely you will still win the fight using scorching ray and fireball. Also during the fight next to your general there is a blue bar, that is the size of your infirmary. If it maxes out, you will lose units after battle. One trick to avoid this is to leave one enemy unit with as little lives left as possible and just keep defending every turn until your general has healed all the units with cure wounds. When you see the blue bar getting lower, you can finish the fight and not lose any units. Its a bit of a cheese but in these type of games its a welcome tactic.
As far as I know, sorcerers are unlocked via the 2nd diplomatic council decree. You have to agree with the kitsune adviser to ally with Iz to unlock them. (I didnt choose this option because my Lich does not appreciate this blue blood telling me what I can and can not do) but I think even if you choose that option they only unlock as mercenaries.
Sad story is that while they offer you sorcerer there is also duelist available, 160hp and 21ac is even better than hellknight by a decent margin but they deal less damage to chaotic enemy which is barely half to a third of the enemy units (alignements are awfully unclear right now) so no big deal
We play this really similar. One thing, save up those marksmen and when you have enough they won't get deleted, just brought down low, then you can use CLW to resurrect them all. Also, use those once a week buff spells. They make a huge difference. Oh, one more thing, you can bait spells and ranged attacks with a tiny stack that will get brought back and Auto Fight can give better results sometimes so its good to have it on then decide.
Daggit I forgot to mention how to turn that on. Great call out. @Roger Kjellstrom There is a gear button in the upper right of your screen when you are on the world map. Click it and there will be an option to turn on auto fight.
Great advice and an awesome guide! Thanks for helping me fill in my gaps on what to do. The game expanded much like it did in Kingmaker when all of the sudden you have extra stuff to do beside adventure. Having to manage building and tactical battles as well really expands the game.
19:45: Lay on Hands can't damage non-undead enemies, even demons are supposed to be healed by the ability, that's why it did nothing here. It's confusing because this game has divine and unholy damage. That's different from positive energy (heal living, harm undead, ignore golems) and negative energy (heal undead, harm living...)
Damn dude, this is great! I wish I had known this before I started, it's so helpful. I picked the dwarf general and he was a bit useless. I should have picked a magic/cleric general. The advice about building was useful too
@@SlanderedGaming Yes, he is a melee general kinda, he gets some neat AOE stuns (dc10), buffs, and the usual heal, but at later levels/fights those become redundant almost. Though i only got mine to about lv11 or so.
I took Rangers for my trainable ranged unit, and they do have certain strengths. I find those ranged units are a primary target for the enemies, and rangers have a ton of health, and can fire even if they are engaged in melee. They do less damage overall, but if you stack them high that isn't too much of a problem. I took paladins for the mounted units, and totally regret it. It looks as if Cuirassiers are awesome - they do little damage, but they are so unbelievably tanky with damage resistance and a ton of health. They will stay alive long enough for your general to cast some massive spells, so a good unit to take alongside a powerful caster general.
@Botch Oh gotcha that makes sense. I am waiting until the new patch gets implemented to do that. Right now the crusade progress is bugged in multiple areas.
The clerics are super strong cus of smite evil, they can really kill demons that are otherwise a pain to kill, also the enemy ai for some reason tend to focus them so stack them and sometimes throw them on the front on defense mode and everyone else is safe
From what I've played of the crusade system, it's definitely good but it could have used more time to cook. There have been several times where I have been making decisions in my crusading management and the description for something came up as only "null".
You are rollin these out right on time! Oh, about trainable sorcerers, etc.... I just finished Drezen and I'm about to start this portion of the Crusade. There were 2 events that popped up when I started and one had something to do with allowing magic users to join in with the regular units. I chose to allow them so maybe I'll be able to train them. I'll let ya know.
@@SlanderedGaming Ok, on the 2nd Diplomatic choice you have the option to work with Isger, and she mentions they have combat sorcerers. In my playthrough I'm going to go with the barbarians so I can't be sure but I would guess this is where you can start training spell-slingers. EDIT - Sorcerers will be recruitable after this, I don't think you can train them.
Yeah that vendor on the main map is becoming annoying lol I get him all the time and my game is bugged so I don't get the evade button for him so I have to enter the map and exit. Also new to the channel love your content so far
Hellknights have been my saving grace so far and I love those badass psychopaths. Mad respect to them carrying my team in my early game and probably my late game too. Currently I'm doing the lich path since that suited my ambitious sorcerer, I heard that the lich path is hard so we'll see how that will turn out. Also love your channel currently watching your lets play, its been very fun keep up the good work.
Awesome thank you! My understanding is the crusade system is broken if you are a Lich because getting new units becomes extremely difficult. Let me know how it goes for you.
Lich in adventure is op since it bypasses most magic resist check, have high DC check and insane aoe debuff (eye of bodak and feat of blood best value ) and dmg while not being subjected to elementalresist with the death of element lich power and I found no unit that have both negative energy and elemental energy resistances Meanwhile now that necromancy is fixed you can gather huge troops of squeletons and zombies while adding a decent amount of good unit to it (skeleton sharpshooter and knight have really good dmg while stacking quickly) spellcaster general are really good at complementing them (what's is name the sky get cure wound early while starting with fire ray and +1 unit in army) meaning you can blast big unit and heal your thousands of squeletons that deal with thrash unit
So helpful. Just finished the Dezen act, Woah! what a ride that was. so this vid is timely. Thanks! One question. do you have more than one army with more than one general? or are the other armies just your reinforcements on the way to your main army?
You automatically get more armies as you get units for finishing certain decrees. I didn't give any of them general's. In hindsight it might be nice to have a second general who can go out and defeat Demon Armies that attempt to take your forts. Otherwise you have to divert your main army towards that task.
When your infirmary is full, it’s not a bad idea to smack the last enemy down to a small amount and then spend a few rounds ignoring that small enemy stack to heal up your troops.
You definitely want a general with Master of Maneuver to start, for a 4th unit stack in the army. Not getting that is a serious mistake. Caster is an obvious choice as well since they can use Cure Wounds to prevent casualties should the Infirmary bar fill up during combat.
Hope there’s not that much time pressure as in Kingmaker. Hate that. I just finished act two, so I’m right at the Start of act 3, ready to put this all in practise
There is a time element but it's not nearly the kind of pressure Kingmaker had. It just control the morale of your armies which isn't terribly relevant.
Great stuff, very helpful videos that got me through to act 3 with less headache than otherwise. Subscribed! Unfortunately I chose a warrior-type general and I'm kinda disappointed by their strategem abilities. Is it worth training up a magic general? It would cost me all the feats I have, including shrinking down the army size. Is that a trade-off worth considering?
How much trouble are you having? If it is to the point that you question your ability to finish the Act with Crusade mode on then I would say yes. If it's annoying but you can still get through it then don't waste what you have done. Besides I have no idea what Generals get in Act 5 & 6. Maybe something is coming down the pipe that will significantly boost your Warrior General while not doing much for mine.
@@SlanderedGaming depending on the enemy I have trouble winning against an army of my own level. And I played quite a bit of heroes of might and magic in my days. So I should be able to do it, but the strategems I have are all pretty bad (like +2 AC or +2 damage) and they all have a negative effect as well (less speed or less AC). So yeah, it's kinda lackluster, so bad that I finished Act 2 without wiping all demon armies out, I left a couple of strength 7 armies alone since I couldn't bear them.
my strat is stack up on defensive melee units and hide good archers in a corner. use aoe shout move to stun their ranged units if you can't one shot them before they can go. Switched to two ranged units once I found a general that has hold person but this takes out most mobs with no losses. Give shout a try next time if you haven't yet. I want to see if others have the same success with it I found.
Thank you this is helpful. Ide like to see a video about how to briefly play each class properly. for example i know i play the rogue wrong, i always end up using a bow instead of back stabbing enemies.
in Act 2 you there is 2 military upgrades available, 7.5k and 18k, save your gold to buy,.The 18k troop buy off the trader next to the blacksmith disappears if you don't buy it, when available.
Appreciate u taking the time to give us these tips but I'm Still not a fan of this system. Is it better than kingmaker, Yes, but it's still not good. Way to many balancing issues and investment dead ends. I ended up just editing my save and giving myself 10,000 units and steam rolling everything. Until there is some balancing update I'm not even going to bother
If nothing else, you're getting a like for letting me know about how to get around the 'defeat demons besieging forts' bug. I'd heard about that, and was worried enough that I put my lich run on hold (which had just reached act 3) to start a demon run (based on your rankings of the roleplaying strengths of the paths, actually) to pass time until another patch came out. Now I know how to get around that problem, I'll probably go back to my witch-lich.
Question completely unrelated to the video, but I thought I'd throw it out there, in case you read this and know the answer: I've heard rumours that, as long as you stay within the 'permitted' alignment for your mythic class, you don't need to fear 'falling' from a fixed-alignment class, and can keep your class abilities and take more levels in that class. Is that true? Basically, I went with a Feral Champion (Warpriest archetype) for my demon route (giving me access to 4 full-bab attacks/round once I hit mythic 1, all of which scale up with my level with the help of a few Weapon Focus feats), which has to stay within 1 step of true neutral. A bit concerned the path will keep yanking me into an alignment that makes me lose all my powers, which would suck.
According to multiple reports Lich crusade mode is broken.. Something about how you get units works different for the Lich and it is not balanced properly for people to reasonably be able to proceed. Just an FYI if you start having issues. I don't know how alignment and classes works in the full game. In the beta you could fall out of your class alignment and still keep all the abilities. I retained all my Scaled Monk boons even after becoming Chaotic Evil in my Demon run.
@@SlanderedGaming Ah. I'd seen one person complain about that. Didn't know it was a fairly widespread sentiment. Ah well, just as well I'm enjoying my demon run so far. I can wait a few more patches - they're banging them out at a good clip (though as a consequence I personally seem to get a new bug with each patch for every one they fix, but eh, they'll get there). Thanks. Fair enough! Guess I'll be experimenting. Side note: I do find it amusing that the most nature-focused Mythic Path is the Chaotic-Good Azata, yet Chaotic Good is not an accepted alignment for either of the nature deities in the game (who are Lawful Good and True Neutral).
For the record, in case anyone reads this and is curious: I retrained my witch-lich into a Warpriest of Erastil (requires 1 step from Lawful Good), then re-selecting the Lich Mythic path pushed me to Lawful Evil, which *should* be a forbidden alignment. My powers still worked, and I could still level up in the class. However, I then did some further testing, with a Paladin. When I re-took Lich, it pushed me to Neutral, and then I could neither use my Paladin abilities (or at least Smite Evil 'Requires specific Alignment') nor take another level in Paladin (I could select the class in the list, but it was greyed out, and the 'next' button was disabled). Deciding to be thorough, I tested Monk as well, expecting that it would behave as the Paladin did (since their alignment-restrictions are due to the class, while Warpriest's are due to their deity). Confusingly, they didn't lose their class abilities, but I couldn't level up as a monk any more. So, kind of a middle ground. My working hypothesis is that if the class is intrinsicly linked to an alignment (paladins, monks, etc.), then shifting alignment at the very least prevents you from taking new levels in it. Whether you lose class abilities seems to be on a class-by-class basis. However, if your class is only alignment-restricted through your deity selection (Warpriests, Clerics presumably, etc.) then you don't lose your abilities and can continue levelling in the class. Now, is that behaviour intended, or a bug? Don't know. But that's what my experimentation has revealed about how it behaves right now. Edit: A correction, now my warpriest actually has horns: even if all your attacks are natural, horns count as secondary attacks - not only do they take the -5 penalty to hit, they also seem to only add 0.5x Str to damage, not 1.5x as I thought they would from the description (though the 0.5x seems consistent with the actual Pathfinder rules for secondary natural attacks). Point being, my earlier claim about having 4 full-bab attacks was false. Still, I feel they're my second most damaging character at the moment, after my dual throwing axe-wielding Spawn Slayer Wenduag, who's an absolute beast, so I'm not too dissapointed.
Thanks for the video, am at the start of Drezen and there's a stack of demon armies near it, cant deal with all of them and I took out most of the smaller forts before Drezen and the banner of conquest is red and I cant get to the next fort. Your video on this really helps, will try it out.
I learned a lot from this video thank you so much. One thing though, I tried to use bar powers but I just can't figure out how to use them. I click on the icon and click on everything else possible but nothing happens.
Glad the content helped you. When using bar powers you have to click directly on the head of your army or the enemy army. Anywhere else will give you an error.
The crusade system is glitchy as hell. Resting at a fort with a shelter does not always prevent corruption. I was unable to level up logistics and diplomacy to max, I had more than double the experience that the game said I needed to level but it would not give me the option to do so. I also hate that once you clear the entire map, crusade morale drops to zero because you are no longer capable of taking enemy forts or defeating armies other than the small wandering ones that spawn. So all three banners turn red and morale drops a negative 100 and there's nothing you can do about it.
Are your issues with logistics and diplomacy recent? It was a problem when the game first released but I believe they patched it. I never tried to use the shelter's so it's disappointing to hear they are broken.
From what I have seen the training center is bugged and making things a lot harder. It is supposed to increase damage by 10% but instead units deal only 10% damage. Looks like someone typed *0.1 instead of *1.1 to the calculations
I wish they told you you need to build barrack in drezen before you can recruit... I spent an ingame week running around doing side quests just to find out i wont be able to recruit from Kenabres
I don't like the crusade management system, I don't mind the battles in spite of being a little spongy in terms of enemies just having a shit ton of health, but the crusade seems more bare ones than the kingdom management from kingmaker, because before you understood why you would be troubled with minor things because you were a king, but now you are fighting demons on the front being basically a demigod but you will need to come back to decide if you want 10 lancers or 10 archers
I disagree because this is an army that is starting from scratch. Nobody was winning in these areas so you are building up a fighting force that was much more bare bones before you came along. It makes sense that a lot of the little things need to be handled by you.
@@SlanderedGaming thank you for taking the time to read and reply, I know the channel is growing a lot, I understand what you are saying I just feel like it's incomplete but not bad enough to put it on auto
Great videos been watching them since beta. Question can you use bolt of justice in crusade battles ? Mine doesn't seem to work or I don't understand the targeting in them.
Yup I was able to use it with no problem. Keep in mind there's one version you use in battle and there's another version that's on your bar in the global map that you can use against armies before you battle them. Both versions worked great for me.
@@SlanderedGaming The one out of battle works well enough but the one in battle I cannot target enemy squares with it and so I cannot damage units. When I can crusade again I'll see if it got fixed. Also that regill build is insane and I love it
Do you get different choices for unit upgrades if your main has a different alignment or path? I mean my selection for ranged units were marksmen-rangers-headhunters-slingers. There is still the mongrel marksmen and most importantly the bandits. - the archery range says it helps me train bandits but i never had that option. Is it possible or the toolip is misleading?
I tried to playtest a few of my ideas and as a trickster I decided that my dear rogues may stay away because of that scary purple-grey haired troll baby in black full plate. SO I had the brilliantly brilliant idea to brilliantly... fire him. With a catapult... into the sun... o wait maybe later... for now he was just sent away... And then I thought maybe they are afraid of the braided paladin lady too.. so I brilliantly sent her away as well. And when the military council was founded I had - you know.. expectations - who will be the new council members? Someone just takes over the empty seats? Or will they bring different options to choose? no. I just got NO council at all and no choices only the suggestion of the council leader which is usually crap... such sadness very wow... :(
Do you know why my logistics exp is really high and the process bar is filled but I can’t rank up? I have rank 2-4 of everything else but still rank 1 logistics
Quick trip for Liches, Cure Wounds affect Undead as if they were mortal....in fact I'm willing to say the immuniteis don't exist but that's a question for another time.
Oh my god, that explains why my morale never goes up. I killed the armies before they arrived at the forts. Do you know if they keep spawning or if there's just a certain amount of spawns coming, and will I be out of luck for the rest of the game? xD
Don't worry the spawns keep coming so just let the next one engage with a fort. Even if you clear the entire map of forts and Demon Armies the spawns will continue popping up.
What to do against undead armies that with their normal attack drain level my units in the crusade? it happened to my hellknights and i had to forget about fighting them in the meantime. The best spell for the General in my case is the one that heals my unit, i use it a lot.
First you have to build four things on the fort. After that you will get a decree allowing you to upgrade the fort to an outpost. Once you have done that you need to choose which fort will be upgraded and then you will be able to build a teleportation circle in that fort.
My first playthrough of kingmaker I spent so many hours on the kingdom stuff that I was get burnt out. Every playthrough I attempted after I Auto Kingmaker. Honestly I've spent 3 hours in the beginning of act 3 just figuring all of this out, I'm very close to putting this in Auto and just enjoying the tabletop.... have you tested this at all. How much stuff gets "slowed" bc of this... the settings say you have to progress at a certain pace on Auto crusade bc the game clears stuff in its own way.
Yeah so the forts you need the crusade to clear have a timer on them in auto crusade. Basically a certain amount of days pass and then they will come down automatically. Some people previously reported that they couldn't progress in their Mythic Path after turning auto-crusade on but that SHOULD be fixed.
Right now best advice to crusade management is don't pick the lich mythic path, otherwise you end up with half the army every other path can have while having a barely working necromancy trait
I think it's not that bad. It makes recruiting troops cheaper and gives you a bery good army to start. But i agree in the necromancy part, you don't habe a way of taking new undead cause the trait divides the enemy dead soldiers by 275. But the way it is presented and the fact that Zacharius tells you "dont expect to be comanding a huge army of undead right away, it takes time to master deth" screams "you will have wais in the future" to me
@@MadBaymax I think you're missing the point or lack knowledge of the actual lich mythic path, at this moment necromancy is bugged period Whenever a undead unit is in your winning army necromancy won't work at all whereas your living army will make it works properly Besides you got it reverse I think since necromancy halves your unit growth and double the mercenary recruitment cost so right now you can't create unit through necromancy and can have only half of every other path usual living army
@@clemrossi9054 Then my missunderstunding comes from a translation problem (or i've been reading it wrong all along, im dislexic, so highly prrobable xD). In spanish it says "50% less cost for recrutable units". But you are wright that bug is a big problem.
So I have a question. I’m somewhere halfway through act 3. Currently my banner of defense is red (meaning I’m under siege somewhere) but I don’t see any demon armies on the map and the ones that have been moving towards Drezen I’ve moved out to and dealt with. My army moral is just plummeting now and I’m not sure how to fix it. Any suggestions?
I mentioned this in the video. When a Demon Army comes out scouting you needed to let it attack a fort FIRST. Then after that defeat it. Otherwise the game believes one of your forts is under attack and your morale will steadily decline. Owlcat says that they patched this today: czcams.com/video/8kif9OSX9b8/video.html.
@@SlanderedGaming Thank you very much, and I'm glad they are staying on top of things. Hopefully this will continue and the bugs wont become overwhelming.
I actually found the Clerics really worth it. On top of an extra heal, their "Smite Evil" effect allowed them to do good amounts of damage to enemies with DR like Gargoyles that my Archers and Footmen could barely touch
@@SlanderedGaming Thanks for responding! Finally found the correct button. Wish they just added the base button to the recruitment screen or such and not having to click Drezen itself on the main map...
But were do you get them? They didnt show up for me they were just champions recruits and shieldbearers. Do you have to have the spider girl in your team?
Nice I might use them more on my Demon run. @RSR99 There a military rank up conversation where you get the option to upgrade your footmen to either Champions, Conscripts, or a few other options.
Act 3 has a much wider range of army levels and there are Demon scouts that seek out forts you have created to destroy them. There are a lot more layers to what you have to do.
Hi Samori! I have a red flag of a fort that's being attacked, but no fort has an enemy army nearby. I reported that as a bug, but maybe Im missing something
Owlcat says that has been patched today: czcams.com/video/8kif9OSX9b8/video.html. Previously if you defeated scouting Demon Armies before they attacked a fort the game believed that your fort was still under attack and your morale would drop.
It's best to setup two armies. One to actually run around, defeat Demon armies and setup forts. The other to deal with scouts that periodically come out.
I honestly barley understand what is even optimal in the building system and barley understand how the entire system functions and what I should actually do. Im azata mythic path if that matters.
That depends on what playstyle you are focused on. Magic, Ranged, Melee, Defense or a combination? There are buildings that will help you in each area. I pretty much went all in on developing the magic for my general and I do not regret that choice AT ALL.
@@SlanderedGaming I've gotten a bit better, are the sorceress really that good? Compared to inquisitors or the duelists? I have champions for infantry rather than conscripts or the other one because that last one really sucks. Conscripts get a small hp boost but other than that I don't think they're really worth having.
Was your flag for fort's being taken red? that will cause your morale to steadily decrease. Should be fixed today though. I have a video come out in 15 minutes summarizing todays patch: store.steampowered.com/news/app/1184370?emclan=103582791469275223&emgid=2984186817505058694.
It's not that bad, the undead army that they give you is amazing and greately compensates. Just make shure that you expend on building thing that give you resources, keeping the moral up, and wining battles that give you resoure income. Also it takes so long to build that damn thing, so, for me, as soon as it starts, the better.
It's weird how your advice is good while your tactics and apparent understanding of the mechanics seems lacking. Your hover over the first headhunters showed that your archers will kill all 45 of them - even minimum damage was enough to kill the whole stack. You could and should have shot the upper stack instead to avoid wasting damage on the smaller group - there was lots of overkill in there, and you lost 70 archers because of that mistake. It would be cool if you went into more detail on -why- your archers are so squishy and why your hellknights are so sturdy (the hp difference between units is massive)
It's my personal playstyle not a lack of understanding. If there is a vulnerable unit then I want it off my board. I don't care if tactically the better move is to weaken another unit. If I can kill then I kill. A couple of people have mentioned during my Lich playthrough that I should pace myself more and not clear out all the weaker Demon Armies. My mindset doesn't allow for that, I want that crap cleared off my map.
My army cant beat the army outside Drezen and it killed all the minor demon armies it can defeat. Clerics, footmen and bowmen does not seem to cut it. I guess it is game over. Kinda boring you dont seem to be able to do anything about it.
You need to grab a mage general so that you can scorching ray down some of the low number demonic entities like the swarm. If you're hasty you might be stuck waiting for reinforcements to purchase. You'll definitively got time to wait before engaging the larger armies on the map. Also upping army size and recruiting hellknights over the traditional cavalry seems worthwhile.
@@Dinawartotem but will a low level general be able to take on high level armies? Since there is no low ones left. Meh it does not matter i cant afford a new general anyway so i basically have to replay several hours of the game due to broken balance.
Instead of restarting you could just wait a couple of weeks and get two waves of reinforcements for your current army. If you are having trouble beating them anyway then there's no reason to worry much about the morale. Also click the gear button in the upper right and turn on crusade auto-resolve. it will basically bring up a screen saying what would automatically happen and then you can decided if you want to manually play the battle out. Sometimes it will automatically resolve with you winning even though oftentimes you will take more unit losses than what is preferable.

Awesome! Glad you are finding the information helpful.
Yup that is a good call out.

Yup I chose that option and they are only mercenaries for me. Thanks for the confirmation.
The wierd thing about that is that even tough i chose that option, all mercenaris show up. Sometimes even more frecuently that sorcerers. xD

I think he used Smite Evil on the Babau unit and not lay on hands....
Oh I'll have to double check the description of that ability next time I am playing. Thanks for the call out.
Damn dude, this is great! I wish I had known this before I started, it's so helpful. I picked the dwarf general and he was a bit useless. I should have picked a magic/cleric general. The advice about building was useful too
I did the same till I went against a magic user that oneshot each of my stacks
Thanks glad you found this information helpful. Is the Dwarf a melee General? I was thinking about maybe trying a Ranged one for my next playthrough.
@@SlanderedGaming Yes, he is a melee general kinda, he gets some neat AOE stuns (dc10), buffs, and the usual heal, but at later levels/fights those become redundant almost. Though i only got mine to about lv11 or so.
Wow! Now it's all clear for me! Thanks!
My pleasure!
I hit act iii yesterday. This is the information I was hoping for. Thank you again.
My pleasure!
You are doing gods work my man.
Thank you!
Nice! Definitely picking up Cuirassiers next time. Thank you for the information.
@Botch Hmmm what was this video missing for you?
@Botch Oh gotcha that makes sense. I am waiting until the new patch gets implemented to do that. Right now the crusade progress is bugged in multiple areas.
Really appreciated the build recommendations. Thanks man
Of course it is my pleasure to help.
The clerics are super strong cus of smite evil, they can really kill demons that are otherwise a pain to kill, also the enemy ai for some reason tend to focus them so stack them and sometimes throw them on the front on defense mode and everyone else is safe
Ahhhhhhhh interesting okay thank you.
the army stuff was the hardest thing to get my head round ,but your vid helped a ton mate .
Awesome glad to hear it!
From what I've played of the crusade system, it's definitely good but it could have used more time to cook. There have been several times where I have been making decisions in my crusading management and the description for something came up as only "null".
Yup I agree and that was my fear all along. It will be interesting to see how stable the acts that weren't in beta actually are.
Good content, very helpful
Thanks glad you found it valuable.
Awesome yes please let me know.
@@SlanderedGaming I will, although I did a clean restart because my Crusade wasn't recognizing battle or fort victories, so it'll be a day or 2.
This video is fantastic.
Thank you! I am glad you found it valuable.
Yeah that vendor on the main map is becoming annoying lol I get him all the time and my game is bugged so I don't get the evade button for him so I have to enter the map and exit. Also new to the channel love your content so far
I only get the evade a quarter of the time, even in kingmaker they had the evade button
Yeah hoping that is something that gets patched.
perfeckt timeing just starting act 3 haha, thx alot m8
My pleasure!
Lich in adventure is op since it bypasses most magic resist check, have high DC check and insane aoe debuff (eye of bodak and feat of blood best value ) and dmg while not being subjected to elementalresist with the death of element lich power and I found no unit that have both negative energy and elemental energy resistances
Meanwhile now that necromancy is fixed you can gather huge troops of squeletons and zombies while adding a decent amount of good unit to it (skeleton sharpshooter and knight have really good dmg while stacking quickly) spellcaster general are really good at complementing them (what's is name the sky get cure wound early while starting with fire ray and +1 unit in army) meaning you can blast big unit and heal your thousands of squeletons that deal with thrash unit
Yup that is a great call out.
I like the guy sorcerer general that's starts with manuever 1 as my first
Yup very strong choice.
Thanks for the help. I chose a crappy blue shield general and I see that's a mistake now.
Either that or maybe you will find out some awesome things about the General that I don't know. If so please definitely let me know.
Oh nice that sounds interesting. I haven't used Shout at all but will definitely check it out now.
Thank you this is helpful. Ide like to see a video about how to briefly play each class properly. for example i know i play the rogue wrong, i always end up using a bow instead of back stabbing enemies.
Interesting okay I'll look into that.
in Act 2 you there is 2 military upgrades available, 7.5k and 18k, save your gold to buy,.The 18k troop buy off the trader next to the blacksmith disappears if you don't buy it, when available.
Nice! I knew about the 7.5K but didn't know about the other one. Thank you!
Your voice is pure silk.
Thank you!
I understand there are definitely some kinks that still need to be fleshed out.
Great video, havew you thought about doing a guide on crusades as a lich? The differences? Seems like the recruietment is heavily different, thanks!
I absolutely will do that but have to reach Act 3 with my Lich first. Definitely hope to do that in another week or so.
Thanks for the video, am at the start of Drezen and there's a stack of demon armies near it, cant deal with all of them and I took out most of the smaller forts before Drezen and the banner of conquest is red and I cant get to the next fort. Your video on this really helps, will try it out.
No problem at all glad I could help.
Yikes that is unfortunate. I didn't use them much so makes sense that I wasn't impacted.
the best help with crusade is just TURN OFF button

Another question: what is the normal level to be at just after finishing the Drezen Event?
Level 9 if you have done everything. Very close to 10.
@@SlanderedGaming Thanks
I wish they told you you need to build barrack in drezen before you can recruit... I spent an ingame week running around doing side quests just to find out i wont be able to recruit from Kenabres
Yeah the Crusade tutorial could definitely be better.
LOL Wow thanks for taking one for the team. Definitely going to avoid that.
Do you know why my logistics exp is really high and the process bar is filled but I can’t rank up? I have rank 2-4 of everything else but still rank 1 logistics

That's the advantage of ranged and magic attacks. You can whittle those people down before they start draining your melee units.
i could not build teleportation circles in those small forts am i missing something?
First you have to build four things on the fort. After that you will get a decree allowing you to upgrade the fort to an outpost. Once you have done that you need to choose which fort will be upgraded and then you will be able to build a teleportation circle in that fort.
@@SlanderedGaming ahh ty kindly, love your videos btw :)
But the way it is presented and the fact that Zacharius tells you "dont expect to be comanding a huge army of undead right away, it takes time to master deth" screams "you will have wais in the future" to me
@@MadBaymax I think you're missing the point or lack knowledge of the actual lich mythic path, at this moment necromancy is bugged period
Whenever a undead unit is in your winning army necromancy won't work at all whereas your living army will make it works properly
Besides you got it reverse I think since necromancy halves your unit growth and double the mercenary recruitment cost so right now you can't create unit through necromancy and can have only half of every other path usual living army
Yeah I talked about this in my Act 3 video today. Not a good situation and I hope Owlcat patches it ASAP.
@@clemrossi9054 Then my missunderstunding comes from a translation problem (or i've been reading it wrong all along, im dislexic, so highly prrobable xD). In spanish it says "50% less cost for recrutable units". But you are wright that bug is a big problem.
@@SlanderedGaming Well. It's the day after this chat and they patch it. What a nice service xD

You can recruit mercs in Act2. Is it worth it? For the Hellknights, if you sided with them, maybe.
Yeah only the Hellknights are probably worth it that early. It's more economically feasible in Act 3.
I actually found the Clerics really worth it. On top of an extra heal, their "Smite Evil" effect allowed them to do good amounts of damage to enemies with DR like Gargoyles that my Archers and Footmen could barely touch
I dont seem to have a build screen. Just started act 3. Any idea why?
What happens when you go to build?

How different is act 3 from act 2. I had zero problems with the demon armies in act 2 and defeated all of them…
Act 3 has a much wider range of army levels and there are Demon scouts that seek out forts you have created to destroy them. There are a lot more layers to what you have to do.

@@gakkieNL Definitely mix it up.
@@SlanderedGaming yeaah, just noticed that in the patch notes. I also had the shop bug lol.
nice thumbnail :)
Thank you!
Does your mana replenish to full after each battle ?
No but it does replenish a little bit every day. You can wait a couple of days if you don't have enough to cast during a battle.
Also, I’m aiming to only having one army. Is this viable?
It's best to setup two armies. One to actually run around, defeat Demon armies and setup forts. The other to deal with scouts that periodically come out.
The map is huge. What if my army is at one side and an attack on the other side of the map. I’ll never get there in time? Armies can’t teleport right?
I honestly barley understand what is even optimal in the building system and barley understand how the entire system functions and what I should actually do. Im azata mythic path if that matters.
That depends on what playstyle you are focused on. Magic, Ranged, Melee, Defense or a combination? There are buildings that will help you in each area. I pretty much went all in on developing the magic for my general and I do not regret that choice AT ALL.
@@SlanderedGaming I've gotten a bit better, are the sorceress really that good? Compared to inquisitors or the duelists? You can rename the army by clicking on the name and typing :)
Ohhhhhhh snap I didn't realize that. Thank you!
My morale keeps plummeting down, do you have any idea why?
Was your flag for fort's being taken red? that will cause your morale to steadily decrease. Should be fixed today though. I have a video come out in 15 minutes summarizing todays patch: store.steampowered.com/news/app/1184370?emclan=103582791469275223&emgid=2984186817505058694.
@@SlanderedGaming Hey Thanks for the info, ya my flags are kinda reddish now.Do I need to keep fighting the demons on the map 24/7?
Can you fail the game by failing this part of the game?
There's not really a way to fail it you can just be very bad at it. If you absolutely cannot get through it there is an auto-crusade option.
I shot myself in the foot by starting the ziggurat as very first logistic project
It's not that bad, the undead army that they give you is amazing and greately compensates. Just make shure that you expend on building thing that give you resources, keeping the moral up, and wining battles that give you resoure income. Also it takes so long to build that damn thing, so, for me, as soon as it starts, the better.
Not that big a deal it's not like the game doesn't give you plenty to do in that Act. LOL You'll get back to ranking up soon enough.
Shocked to find that my units are gone in act 5 as well as lots of finance and material points. I had a big pile of hellknights. Stupid game design 🤬
