      Still saving for Your chopper build series Mr.Covell. I haven't worked for two years to care for My Mother full time but I'm saving penny's and dimes and will own Your video set. It broke My heart to miss Your visit to Minnesota (I live 10 minutes from where You were) but Mom was not doing well when You were here last year. I'm guessing the "Class" was great. Take care.

    I once used a TIG to make a rod of steel red hot so that I could bend it as I do not have oxy-ace - but this is another level

      I do the same all the time, the bending that is, not the hid bulb thing. Argon is cheaper than acetylene in my town

      @@PixelSchnitzel I was thinking "The Cerebellum"? But yeah, there are a lot of odd corners in there, I suppose. Why shouldn't THEY have a turn? This seems like something that might have come up in a dream. It might be mentioned that a lot of molds are made of material that has lower thermal conductivity, like sand and plaster. Someone once told me that they had imagined molten metal being prepared for a small casting by shooting MIG wire into a crucible!!!

    Oh, it's the old "Use your TIG welder as a DIY Arc Furnace to pour a perfect casting in a custom mold made with a profiled endmill hand-ground from an old drill bit" trick. Like I haven't seen that a million times . . .

    Hmm... If you give the endmill more of a round grind so you get more like a stack of half balls, then make two of those and weld them together. Could look rather interesting I think 😁

      steam from moisture causes the explosion and that's a a real problem in humid climates, not so much in the desert.

    SO, we've reached a limit here, where it's ALL BEAD, and no base metal! This might have looked a little less crazy if there was a CRUCIBLE to hold the metal, little graphite shot-glass looking thing. They are easy to buy, they conduct electricity, and arc-melting is not unknown....

    Hey dumb question if I put an 1/8th Tungsten in a stinger at lower amps can I do this or do u need that AC to get it hot enough and not blow a hole through everything?

    For 350A on aluminum what size electrode do you use? At 220A, my water cooled 1/8" 2% lathinated electrode was starting to disintegrate.

    TIG graphite electric arc furnace when? i bet you could actually just replace the damn tungsten with graphite from a pencil for this little gig, could CO2 work as shielding gas in that case?
