    In this video Erik Stafl, President of Stafl Systems, discusses the architecture of lithium-ion battery packs, starting with the primary factors to consider. He then shows examples of series and parallel configurations. When cells are in series, the voltages are added and the capacity stays the same. When cells are added in parallel, the voltage remains the same and the capacity of the cells are added together. This is an important concept: series cells add voltage, parallel cells add capacity.
    Using a real-world example, Erik shows a basic battery pack configuration with a series and parallel pack targeting both a voltage and energy capacity requirements.

    explaining the series and parallels made me more confuse than I was before. Wouldn't be better just showing designed batteries with the polarities and the connections?!

    hello, sir i would like to know why do we stress more on nominal voltage rather than specifying actual battery rated voltage

    • @NawtieBoy96

      because thats what the avg voltage of the battery is over its entire charge or discharge range considering diff C-rates and temp values.

    Hello Erik,can you please elobarate how capacity of battery 🔋 is related with Parralel connection of grouping of cell.

    11:52 just a bit confusing here , you have got 12s - 3p but have shown 8s in each of them but now how is it connected in parallel to make up 96s-3p ?

    Great video! I have one doubt, if you would be kind enough to address. In the video, for the selected configuration, three cells are connected in parallel, and then 96 such units are connected in series. It is also possible to connect 96 cells in series first, and then connect three of such 350 V units in parallel. Why is this approach not selected? If there are any demerits with the second approach, please do tell. Thank you.

      I think it's about the energy package design depending because to take 3 cells parallel and make 1 one then stack ecah 3p cells in series make the package compact and less space occupier than to take 96 in series first and then stacked them each 3p.. Upto my opinion it's about size and power level

      I think it is because of Cell Balancing, in 96s3p we have to balance only 96 cells while in 96cells in series first and then three in parallel then we have to balance 288 cells.

      @@pankajchaurasia2441 i do not get your point. Why do we have to only balance 96 cells in this case? Don't we have to balance all the cells 288 in every case? Could you explain?

    @8:05 please tell the reason why not you choose 97?

    • @jawidwahedi1872
      @jawidwahedi1872 Před 6 měsíci

      @12:10 because there is a standard of 6s, 12s and 24s in BMS in Industire. and 96/12 = 8

    Why we taken 96 cell in series rather than 97

    • @yusicy
      @yusicy Před 8 měsíci

      so that it can be broken into the modular structure of 12s-3p. 96 is divisible by 8 and 12 while it'll get tricky to work with 97.
