RIP Bill Russell
Great that Musial was honored before he left this earth. He deserved that award of being a kind and generous human being. A legend who acts like a regular guy and a true gentleman. One of the greatest ballplayers of all time.
I can't think of two greater athletes and men to receive these awards. Nice job Mr. President.
Stan Musial is far more then just a baseball player to the people of St. Louis. Nobody else in baseball is worthy of the title of "The Man"

they really need to make a movie about the life and career of stan musial...i believe hollywood feels handcuffed when it comes to making one...i think they want to..but the problem is that there would be 0 conflict met by the hero in the movie...i say, so what...the world needs to see this one...
Stan the Man and Mr Bill Russell. an honor long overdue. ICONS?? to say the least. imagine any athlete today asking for a pay cut because he felt he did not play up to his own standards. we will probably never see the likes of these two again. congrats to both gentlemen.

even if u don't like baseball...u should look him up...trust me you will be inspired...throughout the history of baseball there has never been a superstar who could make any scrub or joe feel like a king like stan...he was so good...cubs fans once voted them their favorite player..dodger fans named him "the man" heads up hollywood...there's a script written in gold right here and u still haven't tried it..
