    I'm the proud owner of two DGTs, and I can honestly say that I consider them the Les Paul of our time. It's a "signature" model guitar that has seriously cool and necessary specifications that you can take to many different gigs and walk away happy; it being less about the name on the headstock (of the artist). They're appearing all over the map in players' hands these days and rightly so, imo. Mine are the best electrics I've picked up in years.

    Thanks for yet another FANTASTIC Paul Reed Smith, Paul and David! I have that exact same DGT that David's playing (its the 2013 w/ the filled inlays as opposed to the 2012 he's paying, Man, I LOVE that McCarty Burst) and it might be one of the best guitars Ive ever played and owned. Big big props to Paul and Dave for a gem. #PRSlove

    Grissom is such a damn fine player, good enough to run in groups from the Allmans and onward.

    Honestly, the best mean tone I've ever heard!! It's like a million bees in a big steel drum!! Amazing guitars!! Peace brothers!!

    David makes a great point and one of the BIGGEST selling points for PRS guitars. Very consistent quality. Out of the box, NONE better. Tone wise I'm still trying to get on with them, but man-plug in and go. No tuning issues, easy on the eyes. Great guitars.

    DG is one of my favourite players on the planet. A true giant in the guitar world,

  • @widowmakerheartattack5212

    There's a lot of amazing players out there ,but this guy is soooo different and what he does is so interesting.

    I love the finish on Paul's DGT!

    Paul really cares about the instruments he puts out. He is always learning listening and inventing new things. The DGT is very different from his other guitars he makes. I have several and they are just rock ready big sounding instruments. Long strong sustain, bell clear tone until it's time to get dirty

    If I'm not mistaken, and someone will correct me, I thought it was leaning more to the McCarty with a trem, and specially tweaked pickups that they spent alot of time trying to get just right. But like I said, I may be wrong.

  • @schild4457

    David is a great player & much deserving of a sig model.
    Three note club... former PRS endorsee Dickey Betts!

  • @RebelDukeTX
    @RebelDukeTX Před 12 lety +1

    For the longest time, and still may be, but Paul Reed never gave away free guitars...TO ANYONE! For endorsees, he would sell them at cost. David's first PRS, his famous sea foam green model, He paid full price for. So, when Paul found that out, he built and gave David his goldtop for free. But, I first saw David in 86 with that sea foam Standard and these two have had a great relationship since that time. David is VERY particular about his guitars. So, 25 years is not unheard of for him & Paul.

    I hate it when I search for David Grissom on youtube and all I find is PRS guitars and amps and stores and Asterope cables.

    The list is subjective, I agree on all except Beck. Definltely includes Gilmour, Knopfler, Barre, Page, Hendrix, Angus Young, Slash, and many others can make the 3-note club.

  • @sonnydalheim

  • @TheAerovons
    @TheAerovons Před 9 lety

    David's great, unique, wonderful player. Not crazy about the amp...But he uses them on albums and gets great tones so don't judge too quickly here.

    I would buy this model to add the my other 5 PRS models which I love....BUT I hate these modern bird inlays....why on earth did they change from the old ones? Was it ecological considerations??? The list would be: Santana, Knopfler, Beck, BB King, SRV and Albert King in my opinion not Clapton!

      +Larry Beckham Just watched the vid again, and it's cool to eavesdrop on what is basically an uninformative, but entertaining moment. But Storeyville? Who? maybe I should go look them up. This comment is not meant to be negative, just a bit "Meh" from my partially-uninformed point of view.

    • @j_freed
      @j_freed Před 6 lety

      Yeah definitely more of a textural player than a Guitar Olympics guy.
      I personally like to learn something from anybody I can. Daniel Lanois, Robert Fripp, sometimes having an emotional base and doing a bit less can be more interesting.

    • @theflyingalamo
      @theflyingalamo Před 6 lety +1

      He's good enough to fill in for Dickie Betts with one rehearsal, actually a sound check. To be fair, he was their 2nd choice at the time.
      He's one of the most tasteful players I've ever listened to.
      He isn't playing to wow anyone here. This is more of a tonal exhibit than anything.
