Dave The Diver just got added to PS Plus, and i feel like this video is gonna get a lot of attention in the next couple of weeks! Great guide! You've earned a sub
Grilled cheese steak footlong please
Thank you for the video, but I would also like to thank the developers of the game for something. I had my first "party" (the jellyfish one) happening on a Saturday. I prepared by getting lots of jellyfish for 3 days and NOT using them each night to stock up. Then, I had a certain quest to for a certain person to take her home....not knowing it made you miss working that night. The night I missed was Saturday (the day of the jellyfish party). Long story short, I was all prepared to hit their forum to complain when, low and behold, it actually CHANGED THE DAY TO SUNDAY just so I wouldn't miss it. It's this type of attention to detail that makes a good game great.
As a person that hates eating fish in real life, your videos have helped me to become a sushi king in the game world. Tyvm
This.
I never need to worry about pouring tea or serving cocktails bcuz my serving staff can do it 👍
this is the only channel ive gone to for REAL Dave the Diver tips. you've helped me out alot in my current playthrough.
Thank you so much. That means a lot.
I hope you enjoy the game as much as I do/did!!!!
Good vid! Found the original guide couple days ago while trying to figure out if I was missing anything with the auto supply. Keep up the great work! 👍
I agree that you should upgrade pretty evenly, but at some point you can start to "skip" on the oxygen tank and focus on more important upgrades like the carry capacity (first), the suit, the harpoon...
At some point you will encounter so much oxygen refuel points that having a super-big tank is unnecessary, you will basically be able to stay underwater indefinitely and your actual limit become your carry capacity.
Also...when you start to go deep a bit pay attention especially when you go DOWN VERTICALLY (go slow and try to spot what is at the edge of the screen directly under you, especially fishes with some romboidal red shape on their head that means they will actively attacking you if you come into their range)...the monitor screen is rectangular and when you go up/down at speed is far more probable to encounter a shark and that it spots you because you are physically nearer, compared to when you go left/right.
Other tip...try to build a fire sniper rifle and keep upgrading it to the best you can...is a super strong weapon for killing any big/dangerous fish, from a safe distance, and also very helpful with most of the "bosses" of the game.
Also...NEVER go around uncharted territory when you are overburden (over your capacity limit)...every shark will be faster than you and kill you without hope of escaping...stay near a spot when there is the "radio" so you can go up fast.
I upgraded the recipes which can be used at special events(like the tuna yacht party or shark storm). They make good money and every event you will have a good dish to serve.
To anyone that is new and just started your farm, nutrients is the most important stat u want to keep topped up, if it drops below 80% plants start to die quite a lot, u lose the seed money, it becomes weed which further drops your nutrients until you clear them etc
So this is pretty “late” in the game and could be a spoiler. So it wasn’t included here.
I do have a guide on this though
@@venxm243 Yea I guessed the guide is gonna come sooner or later but I got screwed over by that nutrients thing so hard when I played so wanted to get it out there so bad lol. Love your videos, especially the one with the beer technique helped me a lot.
@@cynricng I like let the soil breathe for like..1-2 days lol it fixes the level back at 100% btw
Underrated channel!! comments for engagement!! (also, my love of this game, has gotten an additional handful of players acquiring the game.)
I keep dying can’t even kill the shark omg!!! I love this game
Finished the game myself last night and went on youtube to watch some videos. Found your channel by chance and let me tell you, you deserve more attention, straight to the point fast tips in just a few minutes. Good content, keep covering good indie gems like this one and maybe some AAA. You're on a good path :D.
Now to the game, there's so much to say about this gem, no wonder it was a hit. What I liked the most was it's refreshing feeling of retro gaming, in the sense that it doesn't treat the player like an idiot. You ACTUALLY have to figure out things by yourself and there are multiple failure points you have to pay attention, so it is hard, but manageable. Not everything should be explained inside the game, some stuff should be left to the player to deal with and work around the difficulties, that's how good old games worked. Boomer much? Yes.
My tips:
Diving: Loot boxes can upgrade your weapon or harpoon. Tranquilizer harpoon will save you from sharks.
Leave some O2 around you and remember where it is. Or carry O2 bottles, it's basically an HP potion.
Weight extends your runs, Harpoon is less hits to take down big fish, O2 is just more life, Suit is the depth limiter.
Minerals and silver bowls are a good extra cash.
If you're slow, you're easy prey. (Duh?)
Restaurant: You can't do everythting, so have 1 waiter cleaning up and 1 serving drinks so you can watch the wasabi.
Costumers will go for the tastier dish and ignore the expensive one until there is no option, so you can play around taste and cost until you figure out the AI.
Once you rank up, your operating cost goes up so cheap dishes become useless. Still, save some minor fish just in case.
It's ok to have 2 o 3 staff dispatched to gather ingredients daily.
You can make (small) money with fish you don't use anymore. Why rank up a dish that returns just 11 gold and you won't serve, when you cant just sell the fish for more.
There is tons of other things, but it's nice to figure out on your own.
Thx for the video! Hope we can have an episode on most cost-effective / most recommended dishes.
Watch out for Sharks, most sharks are slow and their AI can be abused.
Except Shark Boss and Mako Sharks, these boys are fast and tanky Mako Fish will do fortnite default dance on your drown corpse as you float up to the boat.
Always use and keep Toy Hammer if you found one, it's the best way to 3 Star any fish (even sharks)
Stock up on Jelly Fish 1kg for 3 Star jelly is pretty good if u have the toy hammer, if not try fish net gun or tranq dart gun.
imo threshers are the worst, and they can be so close to the surface so ur literally facing off one of the most threatening fish just 15 seconds into a dive with a lvl 1 harpoon, it boggles my mind why the devs thought that was a good idea.
Great video as always! Could you do a guide on the branch feature?
Absolutely. That is one I have been working on for a bit now. It’s very confusing when you first unlock it haha
Sweet cant wait for the vid!
You say upgrade evenly but it sounds like you think oxygen and dive suit are the best ✌️💜🖖
That first under loop always has 1 special ingredients pot, always start your run there.
On my first runs, I swam around and got some fish, went back up. Went down again and explored. Did this like for two-three days and I died twice. I forgot I had a business to take care of. Those were some hard times, struggling then lol.
I'm curious on how does the game calculated on the expenses part on the earning of sushi part at night time. It deduct almost 60% of my earning
Hi, what's the best gun, could you do a video on hunting with lethal and non lethal weapons?
Once uve unlocked the drone thing that helps you transport big fish away, dart gun is always the best choice, when u level it to max, it can tranq any big fish to sleep with just 2 darts
Buy the game today played a couple of hours game so catching thanks for the vid I learned a lot
If there is one thing i don`t understand it has to be the Branch you get after the storyline is completed, it almost makes me go in minus because its just sitting there idle with full staff.
I don't know much about managing the branch so im still waiting for venxm's guide. In the mean time I just pull every fish that is lower than Rank 7(dependent on manager's level) from the fish farm to the branch and everything else into my main restaurant to keep it simple, and I also keep the ingredients that I need for parties/VIP. My branch currently makes around 10k a night.
You have to have a manager and you have to send ingredients to your branch. When they have ingredients they will make the dishes themselves. Easy moneyyy!
Upgrading you should focus on capacity first. I don't mean ignore the others but when you have the money that should be your first choice then as you save up again get the others. That way each level up you get you can haul in more stuff to make money faster to upgrade the other items.
Smashing out the content. You’ve become the authority on this game!
Hahah well thank you!! Just trying to get as much as I can out to help as many people as possible. Lots of aspects of this game that are confusing.
@@venxm243 for sure. But what a great game!
Thanks again!!
@@venxm243 completely random but has a phenomenal soundtrack. Please say you’ve played Hyperlight Drifter.
It’s super lineal so I doubt a guide is required. But it’s beautiful
Just found out u can get an auto sprinkler for your farm if u upgrade the water can to the max, if ur lazy like me u might want to shed the money to get it, costs around 13k or so to max it from the basic one
Yes you can! It’s pretty cool
@@venxm243 Ngl, at first I thought it was just gonna give me an extra water can so I never bought it till now
I used to think varied on my menu is good until one day I just said f**k it and put the most pricey dish on my menu. Made 70k that night
which dishes do u usually aim for for max revenue?
Didn't know unsold sushi is wasted :(
Sadly it is. So to combat that you can use the auto supply feature!
@@venxm243 They really need to update it in a way you can configure it to be the default setting, for example, for single-portion sushi without extra ingredients. There's no point to not using the feature unless you're running low on some rare ingredient. Or, they could increase the cooking time if the prepared portions run out so there's some sort of drawback to using it.
Bancho tells you he never re-serves uneaten dishes, near the beginning of the game, so yes, any uneaten dishes are thrown away and wasted. That’s why auto-supply is key. It really should be on by default
You run out cargo fast and your oxygen triples as your health and dash in this game so they are the most important upgrades. Also you didn't show the upgrade screen while talking about it, instead you showed the credits.
