How important is knowing about the traits in the family of someone I want to marry? What should be done with this knowledge? Can I give up marrying someone because of what I see in their family background?

Thanks Pastor T. I agree we have to do research and we have the greatest Researcher of all to help us. We have to lean on the Holy Spirit to expose all hidden things. Great people have come from bad homes and bad people have come from good homes too. He alone knows the end from the beginning. I like how you said the research brings awareness needed for prayer focus, practical steps. Many people sometimes dismiss others for issues in their family, divorced parents, parental health issues - despite thier redemption and freedom in Christ today. We are not our parents, yes we learn alot from them - good and bad - but as Christians we work daily to be what God as called us to be..and daily growth in Christ (unlearning the bad and learning good - being Christlike). So definitely, we do the research, be aware, and decide based on who that person is and steps they are taking for personal growth.

Great topic again PST T... I completely agree with you about doing enormous research before embarking on the marriage ceremony. Having this knowledge will help the couple decide their next steps.More importantly , Prayer is pivotal every step of the way, hence this will be the guiding factor for the “couple to be”. Marriage is not a “walk in the park” hence I firmly believe adequate research, pre-marital counseling, among other steps ought to be taken. It is a lifelong commitment and thus, every step counts. Lol @ witch mothers in law 😂. Indeed it’s good to find out stuff before marrying On the mother in law matter oh yes some can be really really mean!!!However though , there are many great and lovely ones out there too. If one goes into marriage with a mindset that most of them are bad it usually affects the relationship .It’s good to get married with an open and loving mind towards moms in law
