I've heard so many versions of "Goodby Horses" but, this one is very compelling to me. Other versions try to gloss over the seriously dark feeling of the Q Lazzarus rendition. The saddest thing of all, is, none of the record companies wanted to sign her, because she was a black woman with dreadlocks - They thought she wasn't "marketable".
