Quick question: I see that the gate/jet bridge at Munich Airport Terminal 1 isn't attached to the terminal building. Do you wait in a separate area in the terminal and then take a bus to the remote gate during boarding?

Yeah, it was something like that. Some gates had direct jet bridges from the terminal but the one used for this flight was a remote gate.
