    Love both the review and the comparison videos. I’m interested in knowing whether the eq would apply using the bluetooth/optical in and optical out. I’m trying to add some eq based on the room fr, and the rca input from my active speakers are low, so the only option for me is to use optical input. Thanks.

    Thanks, comprehensive and on point. Just to clarify for my lack of knowledge, when you toggled thru input selector, usb in is what is plugged into rca-in on back panel, correc?

      @breakerbroke23  Před 6 měsíci +1

      USB on the back is for power and/or input from your computer to play music files. Two uses.

    Can we use this to compensate the lack of Bluetooth on the SP3 speaker? And be able to use a phone as source?

      You can add this device if your powered spk has any kind of AUX/RCA inputs

      Thanks@@breakerbroke23 I have this crazy idea of connecting one of this Fiios to a Helix DSP (car audio equipment) via optical cable, to improve the bluetooth codec to AptXHD or even LADC

    • @breakerbroke23

      Not crazy adding a Hi-Res BT receiver, I do it and like the results. IMHO ditch the DSP. I have been designing and installing systems sine the early 80s. Jim Fosgate's Gavotte was the first setup i heard. ( I sat in his car and listened back in 86) DSP devices bring in noise and give off a very unnatural characteristic. again IMHO. Check out this video. czcams.com/video/mfCGK_uyw60/video.html Idea is keep as much electronics out of the audio chain as you can. Personally I don't even like push button volume control.
      My preference is OG rotary (analog) volume control. More dynamic range, kind of like comparing a home AV system to a vintage Kenwood, Pioneer, Marantz receiver of the 70s. Now days all HU's are digital volume control and we have to look for old 80s Hu's ( head units) Please do misunderstand I'm a Car Audio guy. however I like that dynamic sound. BT is frosting on the cake convenience wise, audio quality wise .... still not CD quality.
      Sorry... ramblings of an old Man. Cheers

      @@breakerbroke23 Thanks for the answer, that Fosgate setup must've been an awesome experience.
      The main reason I use a DSP in my car is because I don't have the option to change the factory HU (Kia Sorento 2021), therefore the de-eq process is a must to properly tune the aftermarket speakers (3 way Focals, and Morel sub).
      Having said that, I'm interested on adding the Fiio BTA30 Pro to the mix so I could get a better Bluetooth codec option; by the way in this BR13 review, you explained that the volumen knob only works with signal through the RCAs..I asume it'd be the same on the BTA30 Pro?..my intention is to send signal to the DSP via Toslink cable, and ideally be able to use the Fiios volume knob.

      Okay, I like these units www.crutchfield.com/S-pJTG76FEZGQ/p_161LC8IB/AudioControl-LC8i-Black.html ( dont buy from here ) I have put these in vehicles and had great luck whit them. Also the opt output from the 30 will be fixed volume anyways and not controllable from device, the 8 will allow you to match the output level of your HU via RCA for seamless transition from one source to another. The built in DSP on the 30 is just as good as most any outboard DSP anyways. The AUX in on theLC8 sounds killer. Very low noise in this unit as well.
      EDIT....... www.audiocontrol.com/downloads/car/current/lc8i/lc8i-user-manual.pdf Look at pg-7

    По моему у BR13 нет конкурентов за эту цену, fiio могли бы просить за него намного больше, долларов 80. Мне нравится его дизайн, по сравнению с подобными устройствами, он продуманный и лаконичный, близкий к идеалу. У него не выгорает со временем дисплей, как у конкурента lavaudio ds600. А ещё у fiio есть мобильное приложение, где можно настроить пресеты эквалайзера. По-моему это "убийца" блютуз ЦАП-ов. Вот только пока мобильное приложение работает не очень хорошо, судя по отзывам. И кто-то пишет, что устройство не запоминает пресеты эквалайзера. Вы можете проверить, так ли это? И ещё, проверьте, пожалуйста, через какое время устройство уходит в спящий режим и можно ли этот режим отключить. Спасибо.

    • @breakerbroke23

      They are two different animals. The 13 is a receiver and DAC.... The 30 is a Transmitter, Receiver and DAC. Spoiler alert..... I own the 30 and 30 PRO and the 30s are better.

    • @breakerbroke23
      @breakerbroke23  Před 8 měsíci

      5 Volt AC Wall adapter, Laptop, PC .

    • @keithjohnson2863
      @keithjohnson2863 Před 8 měsíci

      I'm assuming the included USB C cable is for power. Using a linear power supply will greatly improve the sound quality, but will add at least $50 to the price if you don't already. You could get the same effect by using a USB power bank for power.

    • @breakerbroke23
      @breakerbroke23  Před 8 měsíci

      1-2nd gen BT devices were for the most, not filtered very well in the power supply section, so an upgraded or battery power source would have been a slight upgrade.... FFWD to today, power supply options are not really a issue anymore as manufactures of better receivers do a good job filtering their power input sections. Try for your self, use a battery pack then try an AC adapter. no difference on most quality receivers. I have done this on my bench test gear and can see if there is a problem. Visual on a oscilloscope beats the "Perceived" ear test any day. Cheers

      Oh there is plenty worse on the market. This device is good for this price point. My device sounds just fine, you may have a defective unit or something. It does happen.
