- Not done any filming at this station for a long time, I do remember going there to film some class 90s, and walking to the Wetherspoon pub for breakfast on a Saturday morning.
Thanks must go to my mate Matthew for helping me get a second shot of the last two class 37s in this video.
Excellent capture of those hardworking Class 40s . Thank you for posting
Thanks for watching, but I have to put you right as them hard working class 40s are class 37s. Cheers Mike.
Fantastic video! Those two filthy old beast firing out clag and steam are an epic find and it doesn’t get any better than that . This videos are like gold to me and for that I thank you 👌👍🎥🥇👏😋
That is very kind of you matey to say that, thank you. Mike.
Great video, it’s always nice seeing 66s, I would say the same for the 745s and 755s but I don’t think they’re my most favourite haha. Miss the 90s and 170s.
Fair enough matey because that is all you get to see these day in your area.
You had so great days when the class 37s operated out of Norwich.
Thank you for watching my video. Mike.
Great video, I go there myself sometimes , about 2 hours from Kings Lynn
Yes that is about right from KL, cheers fot taking a look at this popular video Sir.
Brill. I remember spotting at stowmarket. It’s a great place to be. Great to see concrete Bob lurking around still.
It sure is a OK station to do our hobby Chris, I must give it another go next year. Cheers Mike.
Fantastic footage as always Mike. Lots going on there with crew changes and RHTT operations 👍🏻
Ben I will have to give it another go next year when it get light at five in the morning. Thanks Ben for your comment.
Good to see some old motive power, and lastly looks like the freightliners are nearly at full capacity again after lockdown, hardly any empty wagon now unlike a video I saw in the middle of last year.
Great stuff.
Yes I do believe the loading is starting to get better, but not on all trains Matt, always great to see some class 37s.
Thank you for your comment Mike.
Welcome to my stamping ground Mike, 31s,37s and 47s were once a common sight here years ago but a lot has changed since then. Still luckily the 37s are making regular appearances at the moment.
Wasn't they bloody great days Bryan, I didn't appreciate what was about in them day but I would like them back now.
Yes you still have the 37s on RHTT workings in your area, but for how long. Cheers Mike.
I live on the other side of the country in south Wales. We get a fair amount of freight trains down this way, due to the port in Pembroke dock and trade between the Irish Republic. Alot of petro and gasoline tanker freight trains tugged by class 66's bomb through, no classic 37 growlers anymore down this way. The last time I saw one of those in service was back in the early 2000's.
Thanks for watching mate, don't forget the class 60s on the tank trains
Must have been an early start for you to drive over to Stowmarket. Nice to see the early morning action. Well done 🤓 stay safe 💙
Yes it was Tony, I left home at 04.00 arriving at Stowmarket at 06.55.
Would of been earlier if it wasn't for some late overrunning roadworks. Cheers Mike.
Great footage, and great to see my home town railway station again. My uncle worked in the signal box in the 1970's, when the huge wheel was used to operate the crossing gates. Also, my younger brother Keith Wright''s ashes are scattered very close to the town side platform. A very appropriate place for him as he was well into trains and railways, same as me. Miss you bruv.
Thank you Alan for sharing your thoughts about your family, and for watching my footage. ATB Mike.
Great video Mike, great to see the 37s, I live not far from Stowmarket & the 37s are often in the sidings, need a wash I think 😂
Yes all the RHTT loco around the country need a wash but they don't seam to get one until they go back to there depots Steve.
Thanks Steve for having a look at this video. Mike.
Fab shots Mike, nice pair of 37 on RHTT. Like the old signal box.👍
I agree David with your comment, must give it another go next summer.
Nice video. Always good to see a driver change and the standing start ! 👍
Hi Mike, I am surprised how well this video has done, and I believe you are not to far from the area of the country which I will visit again in 2022. Cheers Mike wm,
great video Mike some great traction there and some really long consists loved it take care mike . A T B Syd
Thank you Syd, It was worth being in the cold for two hours. You take care too Mike.
Super rail movie! Good job, mate! Thumbs Up🚂🚂🚂😎👍
Greetings from Romania
Andrew
Thank you very much.
Morning Mike from a chilly 🥶 Hartford brrrrrrr 😫 Early start this one Mike 🤣 Fantastic video as always and loved seeing the old traction at work even though only on Railhead treatment trains 😆 How much longer will they survive 🤔 Do you know if the class 20s are running between Immingham Port to Doncaster I port for DSV? We’ve a house move date of Friday the 10th of December woohoo 🙌 First video from the back garden will be for you Mike lol 😆 Keep warm and safe out there cheers Stevie 😎
I am going to reply to you comment backwards Stevie, first I pleased that you at last have a date to move into your new home, it is disgusting how long these house moves take.
No I have no info on the class 20s working off IM, and yes I enjoyed my early drive day over to East Anglia.
My son has just messaged me saying there are no XC HSTs running, so I asked why and he said ASLEF has blocked the drivers working rest days.
That has surprise me as its been common practise for years,
All the best Mike.
Great video.
A great filming place, cheers.
Feel sorry for those people who had to wait at the crossing for the crew change, great vid Mike.
Well Steve I sort of in a way, but if they come that way every day they would know the best time to travel. Thank you for checking my latest video out. Mike.
Great Video and Location, very interesting, thanks for posting 🙂👍
Thank you Ian for watching my video. Regards Mike.
Interesting to see motive power on the other side of the world and obviously those freightliner loco’s are EMD powered and sound pretty good, I’m not very clued up on English trains but I notice you still have the old hook and draw couplings and I hope youse don’t still have vacuum brakes although they sound like Westinghouse air, those 2 loco’s on the push and pull works type train are they 4 stroke English Electrics? Excuse lack of knowledge as I’m from Melbourne, Australia but again a real good bit of filming there 👍
No you know a lot about our train I think James, I hope you enjoyed this video, and I think I should give it another go in the summer months.
Thanks for watching and your comment. Mike.
Thank goodness for the track cleaners Mike or I'd have felt totally boxed in.......Good on ya,
I like that Keith, I did like that there was them two crew changes while I was there.
@@antman09ful1 so u got some good sound for sure.
Another great video Mike, thank you!
My pleasure matey, I'm always pleased if guys like you enjoy my videos. Mike.
EMD 66 class... always a pleasure in any livery.
Thanks Calvin for watching.
Great video Mike. Looks an interesting station.
Hello Phil, yes its a ok station, well it was on that morning Phil.
I will give it another go next year in the summer months.
Thanks for comment. Mike.
Great video Mike, we had a good day didn't we?, thanks for doing the driving, glad to help out with a bit of filming !
Mate it made a nice change for me to have you with me, and thanks for your help in getting to some of the locations and the dinnerbreakfast.
They should put the 'sheds'
on RHTT,, not the 37s, 57 too,, bloody criminal,,, or at least wash the things,,, probably a lot older than the guys driving them 😡
Still a great vid. Did chuckle at the Air Conditioning unit on the Old Box !! What's wrong with a coal stove lol.
Bloody Softies . 👍😀😁
Thanks Ian for taking the time to write a comment, not sure if that box is still operating. I think we should us the old locos because if they don't use they will be going for scrap and we don't want that Ian. Cheers Mike.
That's epic
Thank you for having a look. Mike.
Nice video 👍
Thank you Ben for your interest in this video. Regards Mike.
Great video and great action! May trip down here some time.
You should get down there, I will venture to this station again next year. Thanks for taking a look.
Early start mate , great video
Yes It was Richard, 04.00 Cheers.
Very good
Pleased you enjoyed the video Duncan.
Surprised to see a driver change so soon after Felixstowe.
Yes I thought that, maybe freightliner have a group of drivers that just do the branch to Felixstowe Richard. Thanks for the comment. Mike.
Doncaster man brings in 4L40 to stowmarket. Works 4E23 back. Its all about diagramming back workings for depots. Ipswich driver will work to Felixstowe then work out the terminal to somewhere else
Cheers Paul for the info.
Excellent video 👍
Thank you very much TE
🦺👌😡😮 good footage love the crew change
I did too Stephen, thanks for watching. Mike.
Good video. had 2 railtours again today
Great stuff mate, and cheers for your comment.
@@antman09ful1 welcome
Great vidio Mike really enjoyed that.. Mike what liquid is in those tanks that the beautiful 37s are hauling?... I've often wondered and what is the purpose please.... 👍
The purpose is to stop the trains slipping on the rails in the autumn when the leaves fall of the trees Mark, I don't know what the spray contains but I believe its like a glue which gives the trains traction.
I think the RHTT season started to early this year.
Hope that has helped Mark, and cheers for watching. Mike.
Great video !
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it
Great video Mike, nice catches :)
Thank you very much Simon.
Cool
Thanks pal.
Brill footage alot going on there
Yeah Craig it was well worth getting up at 03.30 to be there early, will give it another go in 2022. Cheers Mike.
Good to see a 57/0 out and about....don't see or hear much about those nowadays.
That is right Steve, apart from the WCR 57/3 one's.
You can get some great shots at Bury St edmunds
Yeah that is right Nigel I have been there some years back, thanks for checking my video out.
Excellent footage Mike.
Thank you very much Garry for this comment. Mike.
DP might cost more, but the train would make better time.
Worth considering for Intermodals.
Ok pal, thank you very much for having a look t my video.
Watch out for the STOWMARTIANS, they are not from this planet. Anglia’s vi mode units are geeat for me as a wheelchair user, near flat boarding unlike Azumas
Pleased to here the passenger train on this line are good for you Martin, cheers for watching my video.
BORING!
OK
