In 2022 with all the new tech and all that it should be much easier than in the 1900s and 1800s to build a new canal. Preferably through Mexico now .. would cut time and traffic in half for alot of ships and countries and make it alot easier to get supplies in and out of north and south America . It would give north America especially Mexico alot of power and revenues.

But it was literally foreign built and your nation got separated from its mother nation just to build this canal. It seems like Panama is a mere puppet of colonial interests. Colombia could be a global power by now had it not been fragmented.

Maybe I was too harsh with my original comment, rewatching it now. It's not unwatchable, at least not enough to have left that original comment, but the voice of the narrator in this video still isn't all that pleasant to listen to imo. But most of today's canal is built by Panama, u.s start it, But they didn't finalize it. Panama did most of the work in finishing the work.
