I have the King Kukri and HD Kukri.
The King Kukri was a disappointment. It needs to be thinned A LOT before it’s useful. If you think the HD bounces, wait till you get the King. It has no bite, is awkward to use and just overly big.
I’m curious to hear what you think of it.
I thinned out my HD Kukri and it’s a beast of a chopper now.
I’d still choose a Bowie or more western knife before a Kukri.
I own over 10 Kukris and they have their place but they take some getting used to.
I have a couple of 13”, 5 chirra work horses, they chew through timber like butter.

I've always believed the best knife design is a kukri that has a flat back instead of the curved back. Would need guard to keep your hand from sliding forward while stabbing, not a fan of molded handles, limits you to one grip style. Full tang, 3/16 thick or even 1/8 inch, blade length of 10 inches.
I've had the design in my head for several years, just never the time to make it.

You'd be sacrificing chopping ability, the very thing a kukri is intended to do, for stabbing ability, which a kukri is not intended to do at all.
When you try to design something that can do everything, you inevitably get something that can't do anything.

Not if you put an original bowl pin inside the lever handle and u only use crovan 1095 carbon steel that’s heat treated and the whole nine and u make it a slight humpback back strap all the while keeping the curved blade only to find yourself have a standard issue drop point shaped blade that’s been sharpened too much towards the back end of the blade about to ride up the bottom of the handle

You should look at the Origin Knives Woodsman. It’s a mix between a Kukri and a Tracker knife and looks awesome !
