Last time I was at Eagle River Friday night Thunder was in 1998 when the F1 Twin-Trackers were racing. That track was filled to capacity both on front straight and back straight. Those Twin-Track sleds were so exciting to watch. Wish they were still racing.
That flagman sure takes his sweet time. Its no wonder racers jump the gun. He is deliberately dragging his feet, wouldnt surprise me if he even moved his arm quickly to fake them out.
The rubber tracks have a couple hundred sharpened steel picks installed for traction on the ice. It's basically like sitting on a bed of nails. So you slam down on the seat to drive the picks into the ice for maximum penetration to prevent spinning out on the start.

Refreshing to watch
Hey I didn’t realize this was your channel ! How’s racing in the top ? I race vintage sleds but how great does it feel being in the pros ?
These F500's are also vintage sleds. It's my favorite class to race. Keep it up and I'm sure that you can get yourself on an F500.
nascar would have called the race because it started to snow.
Believe it or not we occasionally have our races canceled due to heavy snowfall and poor visibility.
Sears crushed that one
