But I really always find Seventeen extremely comforting. They bring warmth and sincerity along with their amazing songs and performances. You were noticing their lyrics, Woozi the one you mentioned as a high tenor, he is so great and he is their primary songwriter and producer. All of them have such great and varied vocals. The thing that impresses me with Seventeen is sometimes how they manage to let all 13 of them shine, which is wild.
So what's funny you mentioned DK earlier slightly reminding you of Doyoung, they're actually the same age. Seventeen debuted in 2015 so they are quite veteran in the industry at this time, but a lot of them were definitely quite young at that time, so they are senior to some same age idols if that makes any sense.
I love the way the content and approach from Seventeen songs sounds mature in the sense that they feel grounded and genuine. Woozi has said in the past that he doesn't write to what's trendy and things about what Seventeen can communicate to their fans. I think it's a lot different in approach than much of the kpop industry as a whole, even from other self producing groups that may have lore or are just more interested in different types of themes and whatnot. I tend to usually just go purely on sound and never pay attention to lyrics but I always pay attention to Seventeen's lyrics because they're meaningful.

When you asked "who hurt you?", there is an answer for why in this cut there is so much emotion in the song "Don't Wanna Cry". That line starts with Hoshi asking Wonwoo (strip shirt and glasses) "How do you feel, Wonwoo?" and Wonwoo starts the song off by saying "I don't want to cry". Wonwoo really ment that line. He was tired of crying. This was his first appearance after the death of his mother, also why he has so little lines, because he was in mourning. Seventeen is a big family, they support each other and hang out with each other families. They tried to hide it from fans, but her passing did sadden them. Also if you look to the left you can see S.Coups laughing, because thought they talked Hoshi out of asking that, but Hoshi still did it. You will soon learn they are a big group of chaotic dorks that you just can't help but love.
I had no idea that this was why wonwoo sang so little. 😭 wonu is my bias, and I'm just heartbroken for him. 💔❤

seventeen have been together for over 10 years and they are the most honest, sincere idols in my opinion. Their teamwork is simply the best, they are a family! Seventin are good at dancing, rapping, vocals, and they are also very funny, charismatic and give the scene 100%. the main vocalists of the group Seungkwan (blond, who you liked too) and Dk (who sang the first line of the song hot) Also, seventeen themselves create / write their songs, choreograph.
Finally a reaction of the lyrics of their songs too! The beautiful lyrics from all their songs are written by one of the members, Woozi the producer!

The name SEVENTEEN comes from their predebut show 'Seventeen TV'
Carats think the show was called that because the company wanted to debut 17 members, but the lineup never got to that size. The company, Pledis, never actually confirmed it though, so it's all just speculation. Pledis never actually explained why they chose to use seventeen for the name.
They kept the name SEVENTEEN when they debuted because they were already associated with the name and didn't want to confuse fans.
When they debuted they made this little formula to explain the name "13 members + 3 main units (hiphop, vocal, performance) + 1 team = SEVENTEEN"

if possible i want to recommend the dance practice video for "pretty u" since that's definitely one of their more musical-esque choreos (with props and everything)! plus the video itself uses the studio recording of the song instead of raw audio like most other dance practices so you can enjoy the music as well ☺
Oh my gosh! I love this reaction so much and your vibes! Okay, so much to share but I don’t want to repeat too much so…
1. Seventeen are known as self producers, so almost all of these songs were written and produced by woozi (tiny and blonde in the white shirt) and other members.
2. I went through all of nct before I fell into the svt world, and one difference I saw you mentioned too. In nct, maybe because they sing in smaller groups, their vocal/rap/sounds are more distinct and categorized if that makes sense. Whereas in Seventeen I feel like you get outstanding in the form of a scale, there are many shared characteristics, but they are also really diverse together in tone. I think svt’s ability to write their own songs really influences what we hear too.
3. Oh they have also been together since they were in middle/high school. This was their first group and company, so they have known each other for 11 years. And svt just celebrated their 8th anniversary!
Oh also, the rapper you liked was Vernon (everyone said he looked like Leonardo decaprio). Blonde vocalist is Seungkwan and black haired tenor is DK.

You mentioned NCT Dream a lot, so Mark (99) is the same age as SVT's youngest, Dino (99). From NCT overall, Johnny, Yuta, Taeyong (95) are the same age as Scoups, Jeonghan, Joshua. NCT and SVT are very close!! The Chinese members from Dream have a group chat with the Chinese members of SVT and they go out for dinner allllll the time. Both groups debuted around the same time, but have very different musical profiles.

The short guy in the middle if no one pointed him out is Woozi. He writes, composes, and produces almost all of 17's songs. They're one of the only self producing KPop groups. Their dancing is amazing and they're known as the "Kings of Synchronization".

There's no permanent bias in the diamond life ( seventeen fans are called Carats).
I gave up having just 1 or 2 bias from them. I learned to just change it depending on what I watched, what I read and what I heard.
Aside from being one of the best singers in the industry, they are also one of the best dancers. They produce their own music and my BIGGEST FLEX -- they are one of the funniest group. Like Running Man levels. I even consider myself a Cubic ( GoSe fans ) before being a Carat. I highly recommend you to watch Going Seventeen from 2019. It's been my go to whenever I need some laughs. Saves me a lot of money for therapy. 😆

The reasoning they give for being called Seventeen is 13 members + 3 sub units (vocal, rap, performance) + 1 group = 17 but it's from pre-debut. They are well known for their synchronization when they perform. There are some great videos that show how in perfect sync they are when they dance.
Edit: I want to say I had trouble picking one but I have to admit I picked my bias immediately when I saw their debut song. The shortest one with the bleach blonde hair who kept his arms crossed so much, Jihoon (Woozi).

Sorry if anyone's already said this, but I thought you might find it interesting! One of the members of SEVENTEEN (DK, 19:37) actually has a little bit of musical theatre experience! He played King Arthur in the musical Xcalibur, in both 2019 (which was actually his theatre debut) and in 2021, if I'm remembering correctly! He's a super talented guy (along with the rest of SVT) and I'm literally in awe whenever I hear or see him perform, really.
EDIT: I just remembered omg, if you really like Seungkwan, you should check out his King of Masked Singer performance! I think it's from 2018, so it's a few years old, but I swear, it's one of the best musical performances that I've ever heard, and I'm not just saying that because I like SEVENTEEN; he sings with so much emotion and the way he controls his voice? WOW. Just... yeah.
