Thanks for including reverse writing, something I use all the time when drawing.

Great video & lovely pen. I enjoy Franklin-Christoph pens. I have a few of them. You are not alone, I fill my converters with a needle as well. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks! Lol that's good to know, I just don't like having to clean the nib area up after dunking it to fill haha, using the syringe is much more efficient I think in terms of cleaning.

I have a number of Franklin Christoph pens but never really paid attention bro the 55. That is a good-looking pen. I also noticed the untextured area in the Antique Glass window and wondered whether that was typical.

I've looked over all their models many times, but similarly never gave a second thought to the 55. The only reason I can think of is maybe that before when looking they did not have the clear window version up? Idk.
I actually looked up a bunch of pics of the 55 after making this video and none of the pens I saw had the untextured part like mine. I emailed F-C and they replied:
"Because we do not polish the inside of pens like mass produced injected molded pens, the antiquing process can affect the inside of the acrylic on each pen differently making each pen unique. It is not uncommon to have visual differences in the Antiques Glass--some can look more "bubbled", some more "frosted" and some have areas smoother than others."
Then said that they were more than happy to have me send it back and they'd get me one with a more complete frosted look, so I shipped the pen back today and they'll switch it out for me.

@@inkfade4281 That was very nice of them. Given the possible variation in the material, they probably didn't need to do that. You sound like me; I would have exchanged it too.😏

@@marilyngardner4269 It was! I was expecting that reply, as I had a similar thing happen with their p66 model in the solid ice material that I bought years ago. The cap was not fully frosted, and I noticed in all the pics online and reviews that everybody else's caps were fully frosted. So I emailed them, they essentially said the same thing, but so graciously offered to swap one out for me.
You're right, I would think a lot of places would say "it's the nature of the material, deal with it" lol but they have the best customer service! Super prompt and nice.
