Personally I think that the water to air system is good on these cars, you just need to upgrade the cooling system sufficiently. Like ams race heat exchanger, ams auxiliary tank, z1 coolant lines, and z1 water pump. All this combine gives about 15 gallons per minute of moving coolant compared to the stock 3.0t 5.75gallons. Heat soak is an issue, but that’s just due to the stock components.

@VrQ60 air to air is always the way to go, i mean look at the stillen kits they switch from water to air to air to air kits and made way more power and consistently pull after pull. And like i mentioned before all the stuff you adding to improve the water system adds more weight and still cant keep up with a air to air kit. And youll spend more on water to air parts than air to air kit thats rough 2 to 3k before shop install.

@Corsa Concepts they probably also using meth injection to help keep everything cool and a small shot of nitrous to decrease spool times, and they have v8 cars using air to air setups that make well over 1k hp twin turbo or centrifugal supercharger. Some use like mentioned before meth injection to help aid in cooling and lowering iats. People who use ice tanks is a hassle and alot of unnecessary weight. Having to keep bags of ice all the time to refill the tank when its out of ice, then wiring pumps, and all the pluming to and from the heat exchanger just nothing but weight. Air to air with meth injection or even just meth fuel in general is the way to go

It sucks to see how little power/torque these turbos make under 4000rpm. Obviously, changing the AR of the exhaust housing is going to result in this but nearly everyone here needs a kit that is nice to drive instead of running around at 4000+ rpm.
Off boost and below 4000, this is going to be laggy and slow. Stock, pure, and r/t turbos would be far more fun on the street. These obviously have the top end, no doubt, but you have to rev the piss out of it to get it to move.

These are better, they are bigger turbos, ams just upgrades the compressor on theirs, while z1 made bigger turbos with bigger housings, they don’t reuse any stock turbo material other than the waste gates. According to z1s graphs it makes 670whp on 104 race gas at 17 psi which is insane. You could basically run e85 and get 670whp at only 17 psi, they said that 17 psi was safe and reliable, keep in mind ams runs their small turbos at 21-23 psi which is high, imagine z1s turbos at that psi.
