I worked at Tesla starting in July of 2017 as an Operations Analyst out of the Bethlehem, PA distribution center facility and left as a Program Manager based out of Austin, TX as of September 2021. I spent most of my time in the distribution and supply chain organizations.
Before Tesla, I was a Director of Business Intelligence and Pricing at the largest Pet Food & Supply distributor in the US, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies based out of Easton, PA. My wife and I also owned a small business in Bethlehem, PA between 2016 and 2019.
I have been a shareholder of Tesla since 2012 and currently own Tesla stock. Nothing I say constitutes as investment or financial advice.

I'm 51 years old. Elon Musk is the most important, groundbreaking and influential person on the planet in my life time so far. Anyone who disagrees is wrong imo! ...Give me an alternative candidate and prove me wrong...I'll wait.
The only part of this I disagree with is the quote “in our lifetime”. I would say he’s one of the most important people in many generations. We’re lucky to be alive at the same time as somebody who will go down in history and be remembered for a very, very long time. I can’t believe that people don’t see it and don’t wonder at the coolness of being alive at the same time a person such as this is. And, being able to read his words in real time via X, or watch him stream games for five hours and just free flow his thoughts real time. Just the coolest thing ever and I'm trying to savor all of it.
Are these guys for real? Or is this a spoof? I genuinely cannot tell. I thought this level of fan-girlish adoration is reserved for President Trump alone.
If Elon makes life multi-planetary - and he has a real chance at it because of what he's done - he will be the most consequential Human to have ever lived.

I am 83 years old and thank God that we have one person on this planet like Elon Musk. I really think he bought Twitter to save freedom of speech. I wish I could follow behind him when he is talking about his new ideas about a new company. If he doesn't start the company I would !!!! Yes, I admire his team a lot! Love tesla, but would i trust Elon say if he were to run for president? Fuck no. I was a huge Apple fanboy back in 91 throughout the 90s. Jobs was the man. So, i could see why people follow Elon like we did Jobs, but they both had different takes on civility. Jobs was more of a buddhist type, Elon is more of a societal disrupter and not in the sense of technical disruption which he does well.

I worked for him at Tesla, the culture at these companies (although requiring rigorous work) is amazing and we were there because we believed in his missions. I moved on, but it was a really great experience. His all hands meetings were insane, funny and unlike no other from the companies I've worked for 🤣

I don't think most people understand how profound Elon's disdain for patents is. He doesn't believe in protectionism, he believes in out innovating the competition. Can you imagine if every company did that? It's why the level of execution in everything he does is so impressive. I think it's the most important thing about the way he runs his companies.
Elon’s technology takes million of $$$ and thousand of people and millions in overhead, which is why nobody is going to copy it.

Elon explained his strategy for X recently and it's brilliant. He's leveraging AI to better understand the viewer so it can be hyper personalized so the viewer likes the ad rather than just tolerating it. No other AD platforms go to such lengths to match relevant ads to interested viewers.
Most people find most ads annoying. Ultimately Twitter ads will be far more effective and therefore command more revenue for X.

I think a lot of it is the ability to hire really good people who talk straight with you and don't tailor the messages trying to tell you what they think you want to hear. If you stay on top of technological advances and get really good information then staying on top of a business becomes a lot more possible.

He's easy to hate but hard to understand. Where it gets interesting is that the more you look into the man, and the more you peel the layers back, you see someone that wants to propel the human race forward. In terms of technology, lifestyle, and intellect. He only does what he thinks is best for humanity and is willing to change his mind if someone presents a better idea or better way to do things. Unlike most leaders he listens to others and therfore tries to surround himself with the brightest minds on this planet. You don't have to agree with him, you don't have to like him, but I have a lot of respect for someone that lives by what they believe in and leverage that to provide tangible results.
The haters will always exist -- deal with it.

The biggest thing overlooked by Joe here is that Elon is a - I dont even want to say tireless worker, he's in a league of his own. Yeah, obviously he's smart, and incredible manufacturing visionary, hands on CEO/owner/boss of every company, a dad of...a dozen kids(?). Anyway it goes on forever but that's not because he's full of ideas and has an inconsolable mind, that's only part of it. There's lots of brilliant people who wind up average. It's the unmatched amount of work and ability to manage his time. I'm honestly surprised he still does interviews and podcasts, and not just the biggest ones, because he's got a million things on his plate and a seemingly infinite line of issues waiting to have their turn.
Trump is an incredible worker also. You dont have to like him but he made his own money, not by manipulating it or being part of old money, but buying and erecting buildings. He puts his name on them. This guy is 78 and does more in one day that I do in a week. Both guys dont sleep much, I think Trump said 4 hours, and I'd be surprised if Elen is ever getting more than 3 hours and most of the time he's probably just getting forced naps throughout the day. Slipping in and out of consciousness for 30 mins. This is actually a thing, I have had to work like that before. It can be done, but your body will make you go into sleep mode whether you want to or not. I've actually fallen asleep with my eyes fully open (driving ffs!) and it was fkn weird because they didnt come into play. It was just light switch consciousness is on, flip the switch its out. That one scared the shht out of me, I had cruise control on a highway going 70mph.

I have hundreds of files, pictures, videos, text, in different locations on my hard disks and backed up to plastic, as well as bookmarks for Chrome, also backed up to different locations including plastic, with 'Twitter' in the filename, and they ain't ever gonna change! Also, searching for a file or bookmark with just one letter, 'X', is useless, it returns many things that are not from Twitter. So my filesystem is forever Twitter.
