Solar storage, solar panels, not enough.. The worst month since I built my system.

  • Just a short little update here. I currently use a lot of energy, but of course, if I really liked to, I could be off grid those months, but now when the energy price is pretty much 0 those days I could like as well import some kWh.
    Thanks for watching, se you later.

    July is bad as well here in the Netherlands. Enjoy your holiday and one plus, during your holiday your solar system can earn a few bucks back, hope you have a nice and sunny holiday! 🎉

    Pretty cloudy in UK although we are constantly told we are going to burn to death this Summer by the news people .....

      That’s what they told us here to in the early spring. Well, they were wrong…

    I feel for you, my friend, and believe every word. However, I still expect the authorities and legacy media to report that summer this year has been the hottest on record

    it is hot and sunny here in germany, I have enough solar power to stay off-grid!
    Have a nice and relaxing holiday! 😊

      Weather is poor here in Germany and PV is lower than expected, but still no power from the grid since March........ Also hier in Hannover ist es echt bescheiden, nur Wolken dieses Jahr.....

    Solarpanels are getting cheaper, maybe replace the solartracker ones with more yield (and less heavy when possible) it might give you just a bit more. I got some AEG 375Wp panels for €46 in the Netherlands. They earn themselves back in one year when you can replace them yourself!

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  Před měsícem +1

      Yes, i really have been thinking about that.
      That was very cheap, I hope I will be able to find something similar.

      @@flyingtools I would go for that option. And in your case you could try bifacial panels as the back is exposed in your tracker. 12 x 520W bf panels for 109€ apiece would make a 6kWh set for 15kSEK, if your tracker build can take the weight! You'd probable need a new inverter also with that raise... but you can always sell your old stuff to get some money back.

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  Před měsícem +1

      That will be both to heavy and two wind sensitive. Three of those big panels on each stand will be enough.

      @@flyingtools I bought 200Wp modules which were 1m by 87cm on alibaba, 23 chinese % effectivity, those are light. Sadly shop is gone. But panels are nice. Last year for €83 per panel, with the price erosion they should now be cheaper.

      Yes, I heard about that. But when we have sun here we normally have around 25 degrees, that’s more what I relate to.
      Hope it soon will cool off for you.

    The weather in Switzerland is also quite weird. Lots of cloudy days in the middle of summer, lots of rain, etc. Way less generation than last year :(

      Yeah, we have also had a lot of rain. The weather forecast looks at least a little better the next following week.

    I get 20 hours of sun total from Nov to Feb 10, 100 overcast days. This year over 18kw a 6hr day in overcast possible. I get 2+kw in heavy rain. clouds 2.8+, clouds and snow 3.1kw. Bi facial south facing vertical with room all around the arrays. 12kw array with no white rock to boost in summer 8 kw, with snow and sun over 14kw with a single 465w producing 569w. Winter, I get overrated and summer is underrated but mostly 16hrs of sun, so it works out great. Vertical stays clean enough to wash panels once per year, and never clean snow again.

      @bobmonztr Před měsícem

      @@flyingtools These bi facials are really good, I would suffer without them, I hope the 6 new 550w can produce more. 3.3kw maybe 870w overcast is the hope.

    I have found when there is overcast sky's,it's best to have your panels flat, l don't know if you can do this, all the best. J S.

    • @flyingtools
      @flyingtools  Před měsícem

      Yes you are absolutely right about that, I have done it with my trackers, 1,92kWp, the difference is not so big, but still, you can see it. The rest of my panels 11,25kwp are fixed so I will not try that with my complete system.😅
