That is needlessly complicated when in photoshop you can just select “outline” and “drop shadow”. Procreate need to start adding these already well established features

you made that so unecesarely hard just duplicate the layer with the writing coloyr drop it black make it bigger and center it with the snap lines and for the shadows duplicate the black writing layer make it smaller move it down and join the corners with black and if you want the outline to be softer merge the 2 black writing layers and apply like 1 or 2 percent gausian blur
Why not just duplicate the layer, alpha lock, paint it a random color, and then move it with the selection tool? And then connect the edges if you need too?
If you want an outline, it needs to be bigger than the original one, and the scaling won't work properly since it isn't a square design. It'd go further out on the sides than on bottom and top. Gaussian blur gives an even amount in all spots!
Make sure the layer is still in the selection mode. If you look very closely at the pink, you can see the stripes that show when a layer is in selection mode. Since that is still on, when you go to fill layer, it fills the selection only. This is confusing and I used to have the same issue.
Same for me, I click on the text but the whole screen is blue now. The threshold won't change it I slide it all the way to zero and the screen stays blue

It's just for demonstration purposes, I'm sure he could do it if he tried. Though it's more daunting and time consuming to do it manually especially on a screen.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me, i have tried it so many times. Not blaming tutorial but maybe a longer one to start from scratch?

I don't have a iPad... Best I do is Ibis paint on 5 inch display Phone.
