@@bradsanders407 You’re not seeing the issue here. The reason these people are homeless is largely because of drug abuse and mental illness. @@imamyousomtimes I think it is terrible that people don't have legal areas to be when they are poor. One of the great things about America, unless black or Indigenous, was the idea of going into the wilderness and building a shelter or even a village. USA has a lot of space, but rules that don't allow much freedom. People still find different ways to exist, and some do well but from the inside, USA is crumbling. A lot of people lost all their savings and shelter in 2008, but the banks didn't. We have powerful companies buying real estate and many jobs went overseas. I think it is sad and frightening. How can a country give billions upon billions of tax payer's money to other countries when it's own citizens are suffering. This is ridiculous!! What the hell is wrong with our government?
You have to inform yourself. 1) the USA is not giving billions upon billions of tax money to other countries, it’s giving OLD WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION worth billions, which is extremely different. 2) these cities have all the money they want to fix their problems, and San Francisco throws BILLIONS every year toward homelessness… the problem is that the politics of the city and of California suck, because the administrations there protect criminals, incentivize addiction and entire homeless people from all over the country to go there and be maintained by the state. And finally 3) America is rich and prosper because it’s the world’s biggest geopolitical and military superpower. That status GIVES untold economic advantages to America and the American people, from creating infinite debt without having to worry, to tons of markets and foreign countries buying American products and implementing pro-American economic reforms… now, if we stopped doing all of that because “it’s expensive” we wouldn’t save money at all: we would LOSE MONEY, because all of the geopolitical agreements that result in massive gains for the US economy would simply fall flat without our geopolitical power to back them up. So if you really love America and your prosperity, I suggest you start rethinking the way you conceive economics, because if America stops being a geopolitical superpower her economy also makes bye bye.
In Europe, even the most poor countries and the poorest cities don’t have neighborhoods that looks as bad as this. Crazy how the US doesn’t immediately wants to do something about it

In US, the so called “slums” are the junkies or mentally ill (software) but the actual infrastructure (hardware) you see in the background look first world. Sad thing of it is it has same problems when you left, its just continued making the same mistakes long before you left and since you left. Now those two jobs would be impossible to afford you a simple roof over your head.
It's getting like that in a lot of places now. California was just ahead of the curve. It's really just simple math... when real wages stagnate while rents and insurance keep going up, more people are going to get pushed out. SF is especially bad because they flat refuse to build more housing and what little is built is marketed towards the upper end of the market.

How can the politicians help the homeless when our money needs to go pay for ALL of Ukraine and their pensions. Yes and send any left over taxes to Israel.
The core problem; DON'T ALLOW CORPORATIONS TO OWN RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES. It causes a domino effect on the economy and the public. Housing & land is a utility, like water and electricity, not for profit or business.
That's happening in Arizona right now I think it's 3 or 4 large corporations bought about a third of homes for sale and drove up the prices of houses to where the average person can't afford it.
Problems* lack of affordable housing, lack of health resources (mental and physical) and lastly a lack of good paying jobs. Min wage doesn’t cover most rent. Jobs for people out of college isn’t that high either so they’re better off but it’s take awhile to actually see it benefit them. I think many places have the resources to fix these issues but keeps make “quick fixes” that create more problems.

One word. Corruption.
Many of those homeless people are illegal immigrants
You have to inform yourself.
1) the USA is not giving billions upon billions of tax money to other countries, it’s giving OLD WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION worth billions, which is extremely different.
2) these cities have all the money they want to fix their problems, and San Francisco throws BILLIONS every year toward homelessness… the problem is that the politics of the city and of California suck, because the administrations there protect criminals, incentivize addiction and entire homeless people from all over the country to go there and be maintained by the state. And finally
3) America is rich and prosper because it’s the world’s biggest geopolitical and military superpower.

What a shame to corrupt government. Government is for the people and by the people. Not in this case.
WTF is happening to our country?!!!
It's crazy! I went to San Fran 8 years and the amount of homeless I saw was staggering.
It's growing exponentially here in the Northwest as well. Seattle did it to itself collecting junkies from other states. Thanks fanatically liberal politicians.
Florida is just as bad but Dems don't exploit that for political gain. Instead they try to address the root of the problem which is the fact that our economic system is broken. Trickle-down economics, which started under Reagan, has been a failure.
Could clean all this up w 10% of the money we’re sending ukraine! Instead the u.s. is losing every war
How about taxing the rich and the churches plenty of money there, but Republican Don’t want to do that.
Usa way to interfere every other countries issues but always forget their own😂😂😂😂

They could clean it up with the money they already have, but it's not used properly
@@user-jw9ye1em7mdon't blame that mess on Republicans, wake the f--k up
That tall dude with the mini me legs 😂😂😂 The Junited States of America 🤡 is a hilarious place to be!
In a capitalistic society everything is for profit 📈 🤑.
You must've forgot that around 73 percent of the homeless in California are from out of state. They specifically chose to come here since this state is a mirage of paradise regarding government support and handouts for absolutely nothing.
@@7he.Polexican it's also warm all year here unlike other places where they could suffer from heat or cold exposure. The perfect temperature range to live outside.
Thanks for sharing. Smh
How to destroy one of the greatest cities in the world 101. Vote democrat.
The Republicans overly hate the working class. The Republican party used to support labor unions but not anymore. They only support big business. And pretty blatantly too. The only way they can get votes is by triggering hot button issues like abortion and homophobia
I grew up conservative but lets be real its a uniparty and theyre all actors. Both sides are just meant to give us the idea of choice.
Everything moved left
You're only seeing part of the problem. This is a capitalism issue. Democrats and Republicans are two factions of the one Big Business Party
@@howeffingridiculous Crony Capitalism and Actual Capitalism are two different things. We have the former among the uniparty and only a handful of actual capitalists within the Republican party because the United States is in fact supposed to be a Republic and the congress is supposed to coin money. Not the federal reserve.
Hmmm more money for Israel Ukraine and Taiwan????? Whats wrong with this????😮
Yes!!! More money for Ukraine!!!
The Ukrainian MP bought a $600,000 Rolls Royce Spectre-the first one in Europe. Maybe he needs another?

The real poop show is ur lord and savior Orange man Chump I mean Trump
I think you worded that wrong... It's not one of the richest cities in the US... It is a city in the USA with the richest celebrities and politicians and the poorest working class citizens !!!

That’s a lot more accurate. Thanks 🙏 for pointing that out.
This is becoming a problem everywhere. Drugs are ridiculous and the cost of living is just making it worse when most can't earn enough to eat much less pay rent!!
@@Ida-Adriana Always critical, always cynical
As someone from a developing country who lived in the US for a few years a couple of decades ago, it's actually really shocking to see. We have homeless people living on the street in my country too (I used to volunteer for them) but the number is very low and most of them are employed, they just don't want to spend on rent and prefer to send all their money home to the family. Very few of them were mentally ill or drug addicts. I never felt threatened or scared around them, they were really just regular people, they just happened to live under a bridge
There were homeless folks begging for money for alcohol and poop on the sidewalk there in 1979 too..
If there were palm trees in SF, we'd be sure it was Haiti.
There are palm trees in SF lol.
Palm trees was literally in the video. 😂😂
Palm 🌴 Trees in California stretch all the way from San Diego as far North as Redding, California, which is only 2 hours away from the Oregon/California border. I believe Palm Trees also actually exists throughout the state of Oregon & parts of Washington State as well, closer to the Coast.
San Jose, California is maybe only 20-40 minutes away from San Francisco & that City is covered in Palm Trees & almost looks like an LA suburb in SoCal. Oakland is across the Bay Bridge from SF & they have Palm Trees all over the City. The only lack of Palm Tree sightings in Cali are most likely between far North of Redding (CA) & Medford, Oregon.
The closer you get to the Oregon border traveling within the state of California to the far North, the less likely you will see the existence of Palm 🌴 Trees.
@@joshuadiaz2330 Palm trees can grow along Pacific coast as far north as Vancouver, Canada. There are a bunch along the harbor in the city.
@@SoloTravelerOffTheBeatenPath Nice! Didn't know that. Never been to Vancouver but I hope to go one day. Furthest North I've been in the West is about an hour or two outside of Seattle. Past Everett I think, if I remember correctly.

Need to take care of your own citizen first before you care for other people.
Yeah, that is what the solution is, give money to homeless people. SMH.
The Newsome Project. It still, may work for them. If the poor lady can fix her toe, it will work.
This is what progressive policies look like. It; really that simple. SF did it to themselves.
Idiots crave power - so they can prove the point!
That’s interesting. In Republican strongholds like Phoenix and my hometown San Diego, the homeless populations are just as high. Would you blame decades of conservative policies, then? Yeah, thought as much.
@@Katnip-hn6zi It's a matter of personal choice. Listen to any of the interviews of homeless encampments and they say they choose this life over getting help. It's not a Republican or Democrat issue.
@@Katnip-hn6zi San Diego is def super liberal. All CA is besides maybe Bakersfield.
They voted for this, and they'll keep voting for it. Also, the crime wave wasn't mentioned in this clip; SF residents voted for it, too. "One reason for homelessness is mental illness"; having lived near SF for decades and visited there dozens of times, I believe that most of this city's residents have some mental illness.
That's all of California. Yet people still trust politicians.
