Giyuu fan here! My explanation as to why I like Giyuu is: He’s hot
I’m a simple fellow you see. Also he stands up for Tanjiro and Nezuko and even puts his life on the line for them back in season 1 and that made me smile
Manga reader here, I like his backstory as it is very sad, and the ending of his character arc was worth it.

I love dark haired sad boys, they are my favourite type of anime boys. Like Megumi from JJK, Levi from AOT or Aizawa from MHA. Giyuu fits this description.

Also about Giyuu I’m not really a fan of his, I have no strong feelings for him one way or another. His backstory is sad but I don’t personally think it’s anything special
I recommend rewatching some prior episodes, pretty much everything about Giyu's character and interactions gets completely recontexualized with the new stuff we learn about him, it's pretty cool

Ntm support is the most important thing in a fight, Rengoku died because Tanjiro and his friends weren’t strong enough to support him yet, Tengen only survived because Tanjiro and Co. were now strong enough to aid him, Tbh the only Hashira who didn’t need support so far was Muichiro who is said to be extremely talented

Well, I remember a lot, read the manga and I still don't care for any of them. It's not a plot thing, it's just personal taste
Kagaya in season 1 was still majorly unimportant and barely was even their for a character with an important role his presence and screen time is somewhat lack luster
its wild how giyuu is literally the main reason we have this story, sparing nezuko, sending them to urokodaki, then saving their lives on mt natagumo, only for him to be called useless😅 but valid ig hes not for everyone

My theory on the marks is they serve as a sort of “Do or Die” boost allowing more oxygen to flow through the body and increase strength to finish off the demon. Also I find it funny Inosuke was making sure that Nezuko got his name right given he can’t get anyone’s name right

@@darknesswave100 I figured that it is similar to how the Eight Gates works in Naruto allowing the body to go beyond the natural limits and pushing more oxygen through the system to increase temperature, heart rate, and reduce muscle fatigue allowing them to fight harder and faster but it also burns up the fuel and energy quicker so it is a turbo boost to kill demons in a life or death situation like what Tanjiro did in the Entertainment District
As someone who has read the rest of the story the filler for this season is great for expanding more on the cast before this last war arc
I love how his way of describing any character is ____ Tanjiro like Decaf Tanjiro and Bleached Tanjiro. It's just a hilarious way to describe characters in this showed.
As a manga reader i love this season, even tho i know lots of people will not like it since it's just a training arc. But that's all gonna be payed off when the next arc being animated

I couldn't disagree harder with Mr. Motta, I don't think I've heard or seen anyone say season 3 was mid. It was so hype and had everything you could want. Intense fight scenes, insane powers, memorable moments, humor, interesting back stories, crazy plot development, breath taking animation, and incredible voice acting performances.
A lot of people called it mid the fights were intense, but they felt so short. It was the pacing of the season that was downfall it didn’t have time for the characters, but at the same time it didn’t have time for fighting

You haven't been listening very hard then. People had valid criticisms for the season, myself included. It was too short for one thing so everything was thrown at you way too quick. You got to spent virtually no time with either Muichiro or Mitsuri, their backstories were thrown in there out of nowhere when it came to mitsuri in particular and the fact that the demons were to put it lightly boring. Gyokko especially was so boring of an antagonist that he didn't even get a backstory at all. Gyutaro and Daki got one then the only thing we got to see with hantengu was that he blamed everybody else for the stuff he did. That made people not care at all about them cause we knew nothing about them. Add onto the fact that not only were there 2 hashira that had no screen time before the arc but you also had 2 upper moons with the same issue thrown into one arc and a short arc in the manga too. That was a huge mistake on the authors part. If you're gonna throw that many new characters in then they need enough room to breathe. In season 2 6 new characters were introduced in Tengen and his wives and Gyutaro and Daki yet all 6 got development and extensive backstories. Season 2 was praised as a good season while 3 felt rushed and almost incomplete. That's the difference
I agree with the rant about "noo this is just vidual effects to make the fighting prettier to the audience"I mean sure,maybe they dont summon elements...but saying humans don't have super powers in this show is BULLSHIT.Not only their training would kill a real human but also:
Tanjiro has a sense of smell as powerful as Grenouille's from "the perfume",Zenitsu can read people via hearing,Inosuke has a freakin' raddar on his fingers,Kanroji's metabolism and extra muscle makes her basically a mutant ,afterlife does exist in this universe ,and Muzan's powers and aaall his demon progeny COMES FROM HERBAL MEDICINE!!!!
You forgot to mention how zenitsu in his sleep is being able to talk to both Tanjiro and inosuke and make battle strategies on the fly. That shit isn’t normal even for anime standards

Apparently, some of the forms in Wind Breathing actually generates gale-force winds. It's a only breathing style that actually generates its namesake.

The reason the action isn’t as consistent with the mangas power rules in the first episode is because it’s not fully canon. The Sanemi and Obanai castle charge is anime exclusive. We know the hashiras found the castle but in the manga it happens in the background between chapters

An easy to understand example would be like when you swing a fan and it creates wind, you’re not controlling or manipulating it like magic, it’s just aerodynamics at play

I've only watched the anime, and since we've met him, I've been a Giyuu fan.
The moment he made the choice to be the "bad guy" but push Tanjiro not to give up internally (Tomioka telling him not to give up in his thoughts), I was soft for him. The kind of person who thinks of others and plays the part they feel they have to play in order for everyone to have the best possible outcome, often at their own detriment. I respect that kind of kindness and strength
very simple reason for loving Giyu based off the anime before reading the manga: 1) he is voiced by the same VA as Suguru Geto. and 2) he put his life on the line for Nezuko in season 1. LOVED this reaction and god I am patiently waiting for you to react to Link Click season 2

As giyuu’s number one fan, I like him because of his character development throughout the manga. It is a really beautiful thing to see. Giyuu has a decently popular seiyuu (voice actor) which I think bleeds into his popularity and then the popularity of Giyuu helps to make the seiyuu more popular. The seiyuu is the guy who plays Cloud Strife, so you can just imagine Cloud saying any of the lines that Giyuu says.
