- Duke had a chance to sweep Vanderbilt in the Nashville Super Regional, but freshman Kumar Rocker no hit the Blue Devils. The Commodores won 3-0 to force a game 3 to decide who goes to the College World Series in Omaha. This is a compilation video of every out from up and coming Baseball star Kumar Rocker’s no hitter in the 2019 NCAA Baseball tournament.
Covering sports in a unique way since 2018.
If you’re looking for a place that can educate you with commentary on top of high quality edits, this is the place for you! I’ve covered Baseball (MLB, NCAA, LLWS), Football (NFL, NCAA), Basketball (NBA, NCAA), Hockey (NHL), Softball (NCAA), and much more!
I make my videos on the HP Spectre x360. I use Adobe Premiere Rush to edit, which allows me to commentate and efficiently splice up clips in a high quality way.
One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I started making them with team logos on the left, and a game snapshot on the right, and I’ve gotten almost all of my video views with that style.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Give that vandy catcher some props. He blocked the ball great
It's the pitcher and catcher working hand in hand. When you throw 95, the breaking ball in the dirt is a killer.
Yep catchers play a high role in No no's including the fielders any bang bang play could've ruined the no hitter it's a team effort but huge congrats to Kumar Rocker
MANCHESTER UNITED No one cares
Richard Williams it’s not like Phillip did not know the slider was coming
@MAN UTD soccer boring
Baseball fun
No hitter wow that’s truly incredible but can we give the poor catcher some recognition the guy blocked nearly every strikeout that occurred haha
That’s because Kumar intentionally spiked a lot of curves.
Yea but you still got to have great chemistry with your pitcher to know what his curveball does that catcher was incredible
oG Tyrantt he’s giving him the sign to throw his curve in the dirt
This was not a no hitter
@@williamwatkins1996 Oh? How so?
I don't got access to watching college baseball so appreciate the upload.
Hahahaha you are here, love your vids bro keep it up
My boy truergm 😂 wasssupppp
Get espn+ for like 5 a month there’s a ton of college baseball on there
Are we just gonna ignore the real mvp that catcher saved so many outs
Dvbs his job is to block and he called those spots. Yes he did a great job but Kumar hit his spots and the catcher knew they would be in the dirt. Kumar is the real mvp
He did a really great job, but I think he messed up the perfect game
Sam Newlands kumar walked people no perfect game the catcher had nothing to do with that
It’s not saving outs. It’s doing your job. A catcher is expected to block all of those. It’s a pitch with a purpose. Not taking anything away from him he only let one get away all night. But MVP? Nah. He did his job and Kumar had one of the best college baseball pitching performances of all time.
@@jaymckown15 Only letting one of those by... That's a stellar performance. So what if it's his job, it's Rocker's job to strikeout as many people as possible. They both did their job, and they both made contributions to the no- hitter
Dude shows no emotion at the end. That’s a professional.
But why’d he show so much throughout the game? That’s what confuses me
@@josephwtaft he was tired he just threw like 120 pitches. the amount of adrenaline pumping through his system at that moment.
nah that wasn't not showing emotion he looked like he just ran a marathon my man went 130
Dude just wanted to take a nap 😂
dude just wanted the hot moms afterwards
this is still one of the most dominant pitching performances i've ever seen by anyone ever, a no hitter with 19K is INSANE and somehow his stuff got even better towards the end of the game
Those 18 runs by Duke yesterday didn't mean anything to Kumar rocker today, way too put the team on your back kid. #epic performance.
@Its Gallaxy like way to be a grammar bitch. You got the point so stfu
Catcher did a great job of keeping the breaking ball in front of him. Great Job, Kumar!
How about laying off the slider in the dirt Duke. Only struck out about 18 on that pitch. Discipline?
Sean Gaughan I know that’s crazy how many times they swung and missed in the dirt
Just shows how dirty that pitch was. Even the catcher wasn't able to get a glove on all of them.
@N Figueroa 🤦🏽♂️ that's obvious. The pitches were nasty. You've obviously never played baseball and realize that's what I was getting at. When a breaking pitch is working so good that it looks like a strike to the hitter but winds up in the dirt, that's a nasty pitch
N Figueroa anyone who says I played D1 baseball didn’t play D1.
@N Figueroa wow dude. Get a life.
Nearly every strikeout resulted in a throw to first or applying the tag by the catcher to complete the play. Crazy movement in Rocker’s pitches.
ice that arm my boy.. good job rock!
I'm a RAZORBACK thru and thru but this Young Man did his thing...
Kasey Jones I like Isaiah Campbell he is really good and has good control
Had to come here after the Mets picked him up in the draft-his curveball is terrifyingly MLB quality, it fooled every hitter from Duke
That's his slider it's very brutal
This is one of the single most dominating pitching performances of all time, at any level of adult competition.
19 K's? That's two more than Scherzer's no-no. Granted college/pro batting is a different talent level/dynamic, that's unbelievable. Cooperstown take note.
I would say the best most dominant pitching performance in the last 30 years was the kerry wood 1 hitter 20 strikeouts
@@coolstufftodo5256 didn’t the 1 hit go under the infielders glove too, which could have been ruled an error?
@@kyle4246 it did yeah but it probably was correctly called a hit tbh it would have been a very difficult play. Even wood himself said it was a stupid pitch and probably deserved to be a hit
@@coolstufftodo5256 oh ok, thx
Now That's Ol' Skool Baseball. Deep Pitch Counts. Kudos to the Coach for Not Pulling that Train!!!
Duke shouldn’t have disrespected the night before. Even up 18-5 was still talking shit with only 2 above .300 lol. Have fun tomorrow when your game 3 starter will get shelled
Thank you for sharing --- what an awesome performance! Kid is impressive big time,,,,
Love Kumar Rocker's Indian face. Can't wait to see him in MLB uniform. Michael Keaton (Batman) will be at every ball game in Pittsburgh when he pitches.
Both parents indian?
Guy lost some mph sense high school people doubted his decision and now look at him instead of 98 wild he’s 94 and good command
Sammy Lantz got up to 97 tonight
Hit 99 in the first inning and 97 in the 9th
Bryce Brindle oh ok but he’s consistently 94
Thats why he can throw 130 pitches
i was gonna say he threw harder in the perfect game showcase
Amazing, simple amazing!
Great pitching and an even better catcher. Great duo.
What a performance by Kumar. Duke scored 18 last night and couldn't get a hit tonight.
Ultimate Roryor yeah it would be a exciting game 3 I tell u that
Very impressive pitching performance, an instant classic. This Rocker guy had it working for him tonight. Executed his pitches to perfection from my standpoint I mean he was making lefties look bad with junk junk and more junk. Your performance was epic Rocker you actually had me rooting for you and I played the game in college but I dont like pitchers typically however for the love of the game, "way to go bro"
Like the vids great editing. Do you think you can cover the Stanford vs Mississippi series?
This whole team is up for success! All future major league players!
Wow, his pitching motion is eerily similar to Dave Stewart's. Especially from the windup
Woulda been a 1st or 2nd round pick last year if he didn’t have his vandy commit, but I think he’ll be one of the top if not the best rated pitcher when he’s eligible again
he was drafted like 16th or something
Oliver Smith boss he was drafted in the 38th round...
@@spencerinman8580 he was drafted in the 38th as a chance he would change his mind. Had he said he might have gone to the MLB and not made a hard commit he would have probably gone in the first round.
I am aware of that. I believe he was ranked the 2nd best pitching prospect. My reply was in regards to that kid saying he was drafted 16th which was completely wrong.
Yea if he don’t tear his rotator before then. His mother is a fuckin idiot for making him go to school. I would told her fuck u and took the multimillion dollar signing bonus. Hopefully he gets to the majors without injury and he will lead the league in strikeouts. Fucking coulda had a 3 year head start with millions in his bank account insteada fuckin around in college risking injury I read somewhere his mother put pressure on him to go to school and he did it to not disappoint her. ...and his fathers a pussy. Since when are Indian women the head of the fuckin household??? Especially with a black husband. like wttha f***!!! ???
Amazing performance from one of the top college pitchers in the nation. Think I was more impressed with the 19 Ks, that was simply UN-REAL! Slider of his looks damn near big-league level already...
Congrats to Kumar for getting selected in the draft, can't wait to see you pitch in MLB.
Who’s here after the Jack Leiter no-hitter?
Sick breaking ball !!!
I faced him in my Senior Year (2018) state playoff game in highschool. He's no joke thats for sure. Distinguishing his slider between his curve is near impossible. Then you obviously have an insanely fast fastball to look for too. Nasty.
Props to the catcher. Damn
I went to school with Kumar and he’s a great all around player...
Catcher did great behind the plate. You can tell both of them were on the same page all game. I was confused why he wasn’t celebrating at first but it was obvious he was so shot from throwing 130 stressful pitches and he was just happy to be done with the game😂
It's called humility and being a good teammate...rare these days
Craig Johnson or just relieved to be done
@@BombersBlitzballLeague Haha! Well said!
One of the most dominant performances you will ever see
After maybe everyone struck out once that they'd maybe layoff a few curves and have some discipline for such a good team
Erik Bell agreed
Its kinda hard to layoff when u facing a 97mph fastball with crazy slider
@@samfrangis6293 ik but every strikeout was on a slider out of the zone. I didnt see one strikeout where the slider would have been a strike if the batter wouldnt have swung. You know?
Erik Bell his slider that night was impossible to hit. looked like a fastball the whole way, could not read spin whatsoever. tight spin and late bite, no chance of hitting it. I understand to your point, count with 2 strikes u might as well take but you don’t wanna guess wrong and get one in the zone
Sam Frangis was he throwing 97? They said fastball and I saw 89...
Thank you
Vandy catcher was busy. Well played.
Man! If this youngster develops a third and fourth pitch to go with his fb and chainsaw staying healthy he should go far. Great performance kid. Daddy was pretty good at his sport too back in the day at Auburn
that catch at the wall was phenomenal
That breaking ball worked so good.
Lots of respect for Rocker’s talent. But props to the catcher as well. 19/30 batters punched out and most of them going down on breaking balls in the dirt
Me and my family are going to game 3.... that was a great game
I love to see Black people in baseball. It makes me feel good
Yes yes yes me too Im female but I love myself some baseball not enough of us play but it's a joy when I see one
Paige _Judah yeap totally agree
He’s Indian too
C J Why? You don't think white people can play baseball as good as blacks?
Why not white
Amazing 19 ko
Super good catcher
That’s on duke for never making the adjustment to lay off the low curveball.
McTuckie Right? It took them 19 strikeouts to realize that they gotta sit curve/change with 2 strikes. Sheeeesh
It’s a slider, and if it looks like a low fastball good luck making that decision in a fraction of a second
3:30 what a catch!!
Dang I was there it was crazy!!
mans looks exhausted after out #27. what a performance
Never give up Vandy!
Greatest pitched college game of baseball ever
i faced this guy when he was at North Oconee High School (GA), nasty stuff. Got a bloop single off him, guess I am better than Duke LOL. I got lucky, guy has a great fastball and good break.
That Freshmen Centerfielder for Duke is damn good. I can see good things come from him #DukeBase
MidNight ExoDus tf makes you think that
He was my teammate during high school
Kumar has two great pitches(fastball and slider) but unless he can develop a third pitch, he will likely be a closer or set up guy in the major leagues. ESPN's announcers were talking last night in Vandy's game vs. Michigan about Kumar working on a change up, but it appears he has a ways to go with that pitch. Mariano Rivera is a Hall of Famer after excelling with just one pitch( a cut fastball), so Kumar could end up being a great closer with his excellent fastball and slider.
Compilation of Duke swinging at breaking balls lmao. Props to catcher.
wicked sinker, disguises it beautifully with his fastball. change of speeds, most of those strikeouts dropped off the table, looking fat and coming down the plate, then ending up in the dirt, or cork, or whatever it is.
Good job dude I’m a LSU fan but you’re a very great pitcher
Hey Jose Altuve
I live in alabama but I’ve been a vandy fan since 2010
That sinker is nasty but he needs more pitches ⚾
@Wheeler, do you post on VandySports.com?
What material is that on the infield basepath? Doesn’t look like dirt to me, and players aren’t soiling their uniforms when sliding? Is it a rubber pellet type surface?
Dubble D turf the anoncer said it once
Daniel, Okies thanks.
All 19 of his Strikeouts were on the same Put-away pitch. If it ain’t broken don’t fix it.👏🏽
Vandy catcher was all over it!
Welcome to Pittsburgh!!
Dude didn’t even care at the end haha. This guy got ice water in his veins!
Crazy that homie from Louisville almost threw a no hitter too
The Kid didn't even crack a smile..look dazed..rightly so...wow..
a good baseball player makes adjustments at bat to at bat and duke needed to realize that every strike out ended with low offspeed
br_bsbl_joey.letko34 yes but they also scored 18 runs against Vanderbilt the game before so clearly they aren’t a bad hitting team. Just a bad game
yes duke is a great team and many teams have off days that occur during the season but once you reach 10Ks they must start doing something different
joey. letko impossible to read that slider. don’t wanna guess wrong and take the strike looking. In a close game like that you gotta take chances and swing the bat
At the beginning of the video on the double play was he safe at first because that would be a hit if he was safe
Granted I was skipping around alot in the video, but I don't think I saw a single out recorded on anything but a breaking pitch until the 8th inning. Incredible control of his offspeed stuff yesterday.
Duke starter had stuff this game just threw a perfect game
Yuhhh
3:30 what a snag omg
He reminds me of Luis severino
Welcome to Detroit, Kumar Rocker
The fact that they’re swinging at all these dirt balls tells you how nasty that pitch is. 98 mph heat to an 84 mph slider that falls off the table.
That catcher saved lots of runs
God his change up is absolutely filthy
Part of me wants to yell at these Duke hitters to stop swinging at sliders in the dirt, but the other part of me understands how absolutely filthy that pitch is and it’s almost impossible to lay off 😂
And a Legend was born.
Help me out, how is it a no hitter when duke got on base with a ground ball at 0.45 sec in?
The runner was out at second... Which made it a fielder's choice. Batter doesn't get a hit for that.
My dad was the umpire for the college World Series
I mean I would go back to college too if I had to play for the Rockies
I can’t believe duke didn’t make a single adjustment to that slider. Everyone stayed all the way in the back of the box with 2 strikes, the whole stadium knew the slider was coming with 2 strikes. Either have to stay back and let the low pitches go or move up and look for that slider and get it before it breaks so much.
Wondered if this was John Rocker's kid...until I saw the video
MikeUnthertz lol ..... about as far from John Rocker as you could get
Tracy Rocker's kid former Auburn and Washington Redskins football player. Current Tennessee D Line coach
Can you post the Mississippi state Stanford super please thank you!!!!
The game is available on watch espn and should be there for another month.
Whole vibe reminds me of J.R. Richard.....!
Are they playing on all artificial turf field?
Yamesbird productions yeah that’s why they kept sliding wayyy past 3rd lmao
Is that the old Marlins announcer?
I drafted Kumar a couple years ago in my dynasty baseball keeper league (8 farm players per roster). Managers in my league have been mocking my Kumar pick for couple years now. Maybe that stops now :). Way to go Mr Rocker !
19 k's? That's insane
That kid is a special talent. I see alot of Dwight Gooden
Me too, and now look where he’s going... LGM
He just threw it in the dirt pretty much every pitch. Can’t blame him, they kept swinging.
TANK
Good at baseball
Would have paid to have watched a camera on papa Tracy Rocker watching this on tv.
i was at this game. I know most of the vandy roster. Coach corbin as well 🥵
what a god
they kept swinging at those breaking balls
