The Dutch who are the predecessor of the Afrikaaners took this Arabic word for themselves and bastardized into something very ugly and used it to refer to Africans. By the way the Arabs, who also were not that great to Africans either, referred to Africans as heathens because we practiced a form of spirituality that they did not like, preferring that we practice Islam instead. The Afrikaaners and all racist non-Africans, use this word with the intent to create emotional and psychological harm. This shouldn't shock us at all because we know all too well that white South Africans speak about black South Africans in that same tone and belief whenever they get together in their private braais and social media groups. DA also seems to say there are levels to racism and that some levels of racism are acceptable to them because instead of acting harshly to correct their official, they want to sugarcoat and explain what could've happened.

I have heard Afrikaanse people call themselves "boers" for example "boer maak 'n plaan" to this day I am yet to hear a black person call themselves the K word. No brother, you are mistaken here. Words without context still have context
