Don't forget to mention "Fade Resistant" compared to drums, especailly once they develop the vented rotors and use the specail brake pad material used by the fire departments on their trucks. Rotors have cooler braking temperatures, better grab, and since they're typically on the top side of the rotor, there won't be moisture settling in like in drums that can rust or freeze the drum to the brake shoe. And once they Really get innovative..... they'll inset the caliper enough to be able to quickly change pads without removing the tires or even the caliper, just slide 2 pins. Simple process, we've seen it on some vehicles, let's see if they pickup on that. Now you've really got a cost effective conversion for the Overwhelmed Multi-Tasking Hauler trying to keep equipment safe and reliable while keeping maintenance simple and least expensive. 👍👍
Wow big things coming with Diamond C so happy to hear this #Fleetneck #RJTrailers
Thanks Again For Your Hard Work
Love the video glad ur comeing up with new teck lol I noticed in the video only had 2nuts holding the tires on I got a small laugh on that
Good eye! 🧐 No fear it was just brought off of the holding yard - no road action! 😁
It would be nice if Lippert would make that available to the fifth wheel camper market. I know, crazy right???
Hope your next big announcement would be air breaks and air suspension for those of us who have medium duty trucks
Tudo de bom sucesso para você guerreiro 🇧🇷🇧🇷👍
On the 216 step deck, what is involved with the 30k to 40k "upgrade package" ?
Don’t get yourself stuck on hotshots. Not everyone is a hotshot. You miss a lot of customers for designing for only hotshots in mind.
That axle looks awesome. It’s great that we see a company, like diamond C trying to be innovative and improve the trailers and options your trailers have.
I’m still waiting for the prototype to come out.
Hey Mike! Thank you for the feedback.
This option for sure covers a multitude of job types- Hotshot, construction, farm, oil field etc.
Can i put 3 of those on a triple dump trailer from you guys with a beefier rating?
What’s the lead time for trailer build right now
I think I need to start a new FMAX312 build with Bridge Trailers. Time for a trade in soon. This is an AWESOME setup.
Will the Det ever see that axle
Why not convert dodge ram 3500 rear brakes
I can’t add a 16k axle to the sdx on website
Here is the SDX216 (2-16K axles). 👍 www.diamondc.com/trailers/step-deck/sdx216/
Everyone is talking about the brakes... and Im just sitting here looking at the lug nuts on that wheel...
Fair point! 😁 No worries though - it was a trailer on the holding yard waiting to ship.
Uh your trailer there is missing a lot of lug nuts.
Good eye! 🧐 No fear it was just brought off of the holding yard - no road action! 😁
Why do you guys use 17.5 vs 19.5 wheels on your really heavy duty trailers? Much better tire options on 19.5s vs the 17.5s. Your supposedly building the best trailers in the market but there’s no option for the better tires for hardcore haulers.
Hi Talonpilot, thanks for stopping by. Great question!
For the non semi trailer industry 17.5 tires have become commonplace as far as availability more so than the 19.5s.
We choose the 17.5” to maintain a low profile stance - we are aware that there are some 19.5” options that are close in height but you sacrifice sidewall therefore sacrificing ride quality to get there.
We do offer a heavier 235/17.5 as well - for the hardcore haulers. This is an 18ply heavy duty option that rates well over any GVWR we offer.
Military grade does not mean quality. Most military stuff is crap. If a company is doing business with the military it just means that they’re desperate enough for the business to put up with the mountains of paper work and sourcing conditions required by the government.
Terrible brakes do not hold up I have a brand new fmax216 with all the options I can have and I only ran about 4,000 miles and the pads were completely worn out they are way to small for the trailer and the loads u will be hauling with it as a hotshot will be removing them and going back to drum brakes horrible product
Hi Darin, we are so sorry to hear about your experience thus far. We would love to speak with you and get this resolved.
Since the launch of the 16K disc brakes in early 2021 we’ve put out hundreds of trailers using these brakes and they have performed very well in all kinds of varying degrees of work. We have customers getting great mileage out of them, 60-100K miles and sometimes more, pretty regular depending on the the load and brake control setting.
That being said it sounds like something is not quite right with yours, eating pads that quick. Again we would love to get you fixed up so you can have peace of mind on the road.
Please shoot us an email to feedback@diamondc.com with your contact information and we will have a representative reach out to you when we return to the office on Monday Jan. 2nd. Thank you!
Complete garbage braking system!
Can’t believe my brake pads, shoes, rotors etc etc are all gone and defective on my Fmax 216!
Trailer has barely 5k miles and it’s a 2023!
A complete shame!
WHY don't you quit blocking OUR view of the new axle........after all the subject of the video of the is THE AXLE , not your personal presence !!!
Sorry about that Joe, thank you for the feedback. In the video there are some really clear images of the brakes and hub. 👍

Any plans to add these to the dump models?
@@IronHideWildfire Great question! It is already live on the website on the WDT. 😁
Yes definitely would like to see a dump trailer with these. Us guys with the ram 5500 that would like to see the dump line with these axles. Maybe, just maybe the D.O.T WOULD LEAVE us alone lol
@@c165vin Exactly! Able to carry an 8 ton excavator, and then dump run from the site.
