@@bigloudogtv2675 after their gig in Milano, Italy, around 10-15 years ago, i remember waiting outside with my friends, after the gig... we did not wait for maynard, to whom we said just hello, and of course many compliments (but he almost didnt stop, so....)... we did not even wait for adam, to whom we also made compliments and said hi.
danny was the last to come out... we basically jumped upon him, surrounded him and adored the fuck out of that giant... i mean, danny motherfucking carey... the livin drum-machine... we surely looked like idiots, but the man is a monster at the drums.... he laughed a lot cos we were like crazy monkeys, talking all together and asking stuff, like 5 or 6 people that dont let u go.... we wanted to abduct him in our car and take him with us, forever.... but damn, is he strong.... and a very nice fella, he smiled the whole time.
pity i didnt made a pic of this moment..... but at the time it wasnt cool, we didnt have any social networks and it's fuckin tool, it didnt look cool at all...

Alot of people mention Danney Carey's drumming in this which is still a badass buildup. Alot of people don't mention how impressive Maynard's screams are on this for 2001.

Adam to me is in the same vein as LaLonde. A great guitarist who doesn't try to be another virtuoso he's there to give you exactly what the band needs. Whatever the atmosphere is missing Jones will fill it with his endless creativity and flavor.

From 3:26 to 5:56 this song reaches the outer dimensions. Pure satisfaction. Also the 'Suck me dry' line at 6:45 sounds really cool. Maynard is one of the best vocalists out there
Yesterday, late at night, I went to the lake nearby and sat on the beach. I turned on this song. The slight breeze and hush of the waves combined with the interlude of this song made for one of the best feelings I've had in my entire life.

@@aliyahximena1466 I imagine it was quite a task. That bass line is probably one of the most unique bass lines ever written. (Not that I have listened to every single bass line ever.) But I find Tools greatest songs are the ones that never made it to video or radio.
I don't know, it's probably just because radio stations and mild fans tend to overplay those kinds of songs.
Don't get me wrong, I love Schism. But there is so much more. H and Jimmy are particular favorites of mine off of Aenima. Parabol, Parabola, Disposition and Reflection off of Lateralus. Wings for Marie and 10,000 days off 10,000 days.

I’ve seen them 6 times! Three times recently, would’ve have gotten one more in April but got canceled. Got lucky enough to see them and in Rockville when they debuted Invisible and Descending... I feel beyond lucky I was there to witness that, also was tripping balls lol. They opened with Ænima too lol. Best live show you’ll ever experience, changed my girlfriends life. We got tickets the day after her first for the next closet show lol. She totally gets it now, she used to like APC more but slowly she changed her mind. Hands down best ducking band, and Danny is the best Drummer in the world lol!!!

One of the few songs I could listen to the last time I was locked up, withdrawing from heroin and about 4-5 other drugs and it got me through hell. Been straight for over a year now
I remember being like 16-17ish and wrapping my head around like 80% of what Danny was doing in a country town in Australia (80 %probably generous with the distortion of time), looking back the fact I couldn’t get it and just surrendered to the flow was fucking exciting. At the time i was probably wallowing in the i could never do that shit.. but now and then you’d escape and realise the size of it all. Empowering.. Im 35 now, wife kids steady and reckless. It still takes me there

I was 20 when this album came out. Their best imho, this song and several others on the album still stir my blood to this day and give me goosebumps. I've seen them twice once in '01 when they were touring this album. Starting @3:26 in this song is some of the most beautiful/awesome piece of music I've ever heard.
We will never hear this in concert again. I believe Maynard said that he literally can't do this song anymore.

I can't find the precision and absolutely mind boggling creativity in another band length of time given. Name one. There are none but maybe Getty and Rush, but this set of 4 has set egos aside for something to never be duplicated.
