Guy said it has a performance tune but honestly i havent even pulled the floormat up yet because it was dark out. Smells like it is DUMPING fuel. Rich as fuck. The research begins! (First B Series)
Type R basemap isn't really what I would suggest for a B20V/LSV if you are not running Type R cams. The size of the engine and compression are only a few of the factors that play role in ECU tuning. Typically if you aren't able to afford actual tuning the best bet is to use the ECU that matches the cams and head. If your running a GSR head and cams a P72 is your best bet. If your running a B16 head and cams then go P30. The fueling maps are very similar between all the maps but the difference is going to be in the timing and VTEC crossover which are developed based on the cam profile and head design, not necessarily displacement. Even with Type R cams a stock P72 map provides Plenty fuel, but the timing and VTEC cross is more ideal in the P73 map. Bottom line tho unless you are running a totally stock engine you really should be tuned. It doesn't always have to cost 400-500+, we do tunes on NA B/D/H series cars running Crome, Neptune or Hondata S300 for $225. That's WOT, part throttle cruise, idle tuning, VTEC tuning etc. Add $25 if you want us to play with cam timing as well. (Aftermarket cams/adjustable cam gears) S2000/K series we charge $300 for NA. Forced induction cars we charge $400 regardless of motor, $450 if you want us to setup boost by gear for optimal traction. I've found that our prices are a little better than most as that was our goal, but still there are others that do good affordable work like us if you look. Also Etuning is available for $80 and All the customer needs to have is a laptop, chipped ECU and a burner. We will update the tune as many times as needed until it's finalized.
So, quick questions, if I plan going b20 vtec with a GSR head, GSR Intake, all stock, would I be able to plug in the p72 ecu and wire in the vtec to the correct pin outs and be just fine driving it around like that with a working vtec system? And do I need to chip the p72 ecu I order to change when I redline and when my vtec cracks?
Chris Harris at xenocron is awesome. He helped me out a lot when I socketed and chipped the p28 that ran my turbo d-series. he also burned me a base map that I ran my D series with boosted on 6 pounds and with his base map I made 227 wheel horsepower on a JDM D15B VTEC. I am now running a LS Turbo and it has a proper dyno tune it makes 408 whp with a 63 trim Turbonetics on 15 lbs.

Now here's a question I do have a chipped p28 which I will use. But in NYS in order to re-register my car for an additional 2 years I need to pass inspection ... I know I will pass but in order to pass I need to have the check engine light OFF. Now for the New Year I'm swapping my out my d16y7 out of my obd2a 97 EK hatch ... I'm running a jdm b20b low compression block with a relatively stock GSR head that has a 3 angle valve job and a aebs typhoon intake manifold (looks like a jumbo skunk2 intake manifold) .. anywho in order to pass with no CEL I plan on running an obd2a ecu for the test (needs atleast 50 miles driven with no CEL).. now it's is impossible to find a 97 Usdm spec itr ecu .. so I bought an obd2a GSR ecu .. do you think it'll be okay to run the b20Vtec gently for 50 miles or so on that before and during the test ?

Easy, retain every sensor that the oem obd2 ecu looks for and plug in the ecu.

Blox manifolds suck ass from what I've heard. I have always gone with Skunk 2 manifolds and 70mm TB for my turbo LS, and my built turbo LSV.
