She also talks about what led up to her becoming homeless in Kensington. She gets emotional talking about her grandchildren and some of the happier times she had in life.

What a lovely woman So sorry what happened to you when you were a child .we are the same age both called Maggie in very different circumstances .You had a terrible start to life yet have remained a lovely lady .
She really seemed like a lovely woman when I met her, Maggie. She did have a terrible start to life. I hope she finds her way out of there.

I wish I could wrap Maggie in a fuzzy weighted blanket and giver her a big hug and let her cry. Let her cry out her CPTSD from childhood SA (and any trauma since and trauma from saving people day in and day out!) Those of us suffering from CPTSD need to stick together. Any of us could be Maggie. Luckily, I have a supportive spouse and haven’t turned to hard drugs BUT it is because of his amazing support and let’s be real,DARE! (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) that ish worked! I have always been too afraid of drugs because of the DARE educational programs, but that doesn’t mean that while in hospital for whatever I don’t enjoy them. So I’m just a ‘yes sure!’ away from living Maggie’s life. Many of us are… I wish I had the money to give Maggie the life she deserves. Get her clean, get her son clean.
How heart breaking! She sees her son everyday… because he is using in Kensington. She probably blames herself too. Most mothers who are any good would hold some of the blame knowing something went sideways at some point. No (decent) mother, on drugs or not, wants that for their kids.
Agh I am rambling.
I just hate seeing good people who are kind hearted suffering.
The US could fix this problem in a decade at most IF we had long term comprehensive treatment centers that are dual diagnosis (because again CPTSD/PTSD) that remains unresolved is what leads to mental illness, addiction and homelessness. Also, why not allow clean once daily prescription Dicetylmorphine to help those who want tone productive but don’t want suboxone or methadone (clean unadulterated lab created dicetylmorphine is so much better that the aforementioned)?
Also, parenting continuing education/ lessons made as a requirement to keep a child here and mandatory therapy for abused children and for women and men who are going to become parents who have suffered abuse . Stop the cycle.
This was all such kind words and great advice. I agree with you wholeheartedly.
Maggie was great, and I'm really hoping she finds her way out of there. She deserves a better life.

I think there is alot more to her story that we will never know. All of these people dont abandon you for no reason. Drug addiction notwithstanding.🤔
Possibly. I know a lot of times people (family members and friends) get tired of having to live that lifestyle with their loved one. They get tired of the lies, the broken promises, etc. It's a vicious cycle with multiple victims along the way.
@@unheardvoices_officialthis is very true. Miss Maggie looks like a nice lady. She is a senior citizen. To be honest she looks great for her age. My sister was a horrible alcoholic. She was my best friend for our whole life. After her second child. She went down hill. Postpartum was definitely present but not addressed. The second child was a handful. We lived in different states. But we were so close. She turned into a monster. I didn’t know who she was anymore. Very sad. She passed away in 2022 4 days after her birthday. She was not homeless. 🙏🏻❤️ RIP my gorgeous sister MRD.

Yes, she was on AML films last weekend in a wheelchair. She has 5 kids who don't help her.😢
