Just read this. I woke up early all of a sudden about 3 weeks ago. And I had this feeling that phones, smart tvs, electronics are separating us from ourselves. Religion really is the same huh, telling people we just have to take the poorly paying jobs, suck it up and be grateful.
I've been a good person my whole life and always work hard, my dream is to be able to afford a small house with some nature and to be able to travel every few years. But that's impossible because I get paid crap and the cost of living is too high. No one wants to work when work only leaves us with barely enough to make ends meet.

Some people have misunderstood the message here, there's nothing wrong with enjoying your wealth as long as it doesn't deviate you from the remembrance of Allah- you have to be grateful and remember where that wealth comes from through servitude to Him (submitting/obeying His laws), its when you are blinded by the glitz and glamour of this life, indulging and being defined by it and associating it with your own success and not provision from Allah- that is wrong.. ultimately wealth should be in our hands, not our hearts, wealth should be a means to navigate this worldly life in order to reach the ultimate goal, Paradise, not be the goal itself

hey i really do love cafes and restaurants and travelling and i have never done any of it because of lack of money. so once i have money with my job, and i plan to enjoy it visiting places and eating out, that means i am now less of a muslim? with less love for Allah? i find this very discouraging, and pushing me away from my deen. if after all my hard work i end up becoming something which according to you is not actually complete muslim.?

It's a question of ambition. As Br. Hoblos said "the Sahaba wanted only jannah, wheras we also want Jannah." Ask Allah for guidance, it may be that when you gain money your tastes change and you don't want restaurants and cafes anymore. Remember that the one certain thing is that life will never be exactly what you planned it to be, but what Allah plans your life to be.
a good way to ask for guidance is to pray daily: "Ya Muqallibal quloob sabbit qalbi ala deenik" (O the Turner of Hearts, make my heart firm upon the deen).

Suffering leads to salvation. Christ suffered for us willingly and laid His life down for us. He forgave the people who crucified Him. And He offers us salvation. We don’t want to die because we don’t have a solution for the aftermath of our death. Only Jesus Christ gives us the promise of life after death. He said “ I am the Way, the Truth and then Life. No one gets to the Father except through Me”
