- Hey All, after our previous video about "How I got my Ph.D. admission in the USA", a lot of you asked us many interesting questions and hence we wanted to make this video to clear at least some of those questions and help you to be successful in your Ph.D. journey. In today's video, we'll talk about the questions "Does your background matter?" to pursue a Ph.D. program in the USA and "How to approach professors" with the introductory emails in the admission process.

I keep on hearing this statement but I am not currently working on any research project aside the one I did for my masters program. Phd in economics requires extensive mathematics background. For someone with a business background in their bachelor's with no access to such courses or no scopes for accreditation, what should one do to cover up the contents or enhance their chances of acceptance?

This has been my biggest inhibition. Since, PhD was not my initial plan I never really invested a lot in research.
Hello Mukti, Projects and research papers influence an admission decision greatly. However, you can still prove your interest and capability with a work experience or internship or any substantial piece of work supported by a strong SOP and LORs. All the best :)

How much does a professors interest affect admission decision?. I had gotten a a positive reply from a professor who told me he would get in touch with the admission chair however I was rejected from the university. A lot of replies I had gotten were for example, " I am interested to take you, please let me know if you are admitted". Do professors actually have a say in the admission comittee?

Mam I am an M.Sc graduate in soil science and agricultural chemistry ( agriculture) is it a must that we should write only about our research work we have done in M.Sc or we can just convey our idea ....mam it will be very useful if u make a vedio on how u spotted out universities and in which website ..I am Very interested to do my PhD in abroad and I had no support or hope before..but now after seeing Ur vedios I have some hope of fulfilling my career aboard
