PART 2 of 3. In this video, Kevin Tetz shows you how to repair flaking clearcoat and make your car look great again. He demonstrates his techniques using the hood from his awesome 1966 Jaded Mustang that was featured in many magazines and debuted at SEMA 2012. Kevin shows you how to properly prep and mask the area, spray new clear and buff the new clear until it matches the original. One of his secrets is the Eastwood 2K Aero-Spray paint. It's a two component paint in an aerosol! That's right, the durability of a paint that has a catalyst, but the luxury of a spray can!
Eastwood's 2K High-Gloss Clear Aerosol allows you to paint with the durability and precision of a two-component coating without the paint gun! Formulated with Eastwood's proprietary nano ceramic technology to provide a long-lasting and durable finish, while keeping its beautiful finish for years. The innovative nozzle and valve technology, combined with its two internal chambers, ensure the right ratio is mixed every time. Sprays like a gun with a broader spray pattern than conventional aerosols and no mess to clean up. You'll achieve professional results from an easy-to-spray aerosol.
Eastwood has everything you need to do the job right - welders, plasma cutters, soda and abrasive blasters, powder coating supplies, paint and paint guns, hand tools, metal fab tools and more.

I think you've taught me more than the bodyshop i worked in. Thanks a lot. Almost done restoring my '94 service ram. Using cans (dupli color) but still coming out ok.
Seems like my clear is too thin though.
    Awesome videos!

Clear can be blended. Blend Dupont 222s or similar adhesion promoter past the scuff marks, don't clear past the adhesion promoter, lite buff and if done right will last as long as the original paint job.

Would this be the same principle on painting a clear coat over old paint that has never been clear coated. Painted some fenders for my truck about a year ago, but never clear coated them. They've been in storage wrapped in plastic in a box. Paint has a rough texture to it. Any advise on how to start the clearing process would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How well does Eastwood paint hold up to UV? I live in AZ, 110 degree weather easy. We're at 95 in spring. Following all steps in paintucation, all Eastwood products from epoxy to clear. Base coat clear coat system. How well does it actually hold? Have any test been done? I've been itching for an economic paint system, but my climate is killer. I have a 69 Chevy C10 and I'm considering giving a shot. Or any kind of warranty offered?
Any info or links would be appreciated Eastwood Company
    Thanks in advance.

My problem is that the clear coat has been hit by rocks and broken thru to the the paint. I have several spots on the hood that need to re-cleared. So what's the best approach to repairing that type of issue on a 2004 BMW 325i with Helrot 438 base paint? Do I need to re-coat the entire hood? Or just address the spots? Are there waxes or polishes that will prevent further damage to the clear coat due to water getting under it? Thanks for the video too.
