- Passion, pride and enthusiasm are all things a miner feels about the work they do. This has been the case for generations and it is still so prevalent for the modern day miner. While the industry has gone forward in leaps and bounds with technological advancements and safety improvements, no one can deny that risks are still ever present and every miner does their bit to ensure they all go home at the end of the day. In the final instalment of our AIMEX video series we see first-hand the work that is done below the surface and the vital role everyone plays from coalface to power station.

Many happy memory's of working down a coal mine would do it all again so nice to look back , best mates ever.
I am also a coal miner in Turkey.
We use little equipment and all other work by hand.
Big respect to you for keeping out society functions !
I legit thought miners are still going at it with a pick axes. 🤣
Yes , in poor villages 😭 fool
Fuck, I’d die before I went in there every day using a pick axe
Technology🤓
I was a miner for 43 years, Board and Pillar , then Longwall. started in the timber days , great career, i would do it all again, Cheers Stay safe.
Hows is the pay? Is it safe? and do you think it's a dying or booming field?
Oh, wow! My grandfather and on back, were coal miners in Wales and Pennsylvania, USA. They would of been thrilled to see such advancements, especially with safety! Sadly, my great uncle died in the coal mine ages ago.😢 Thank you for your video! John 3:16❤️
As a born and bred Novacastrian ( Newcastle - NSW - Australia)
I was proud to have worked in both the Newcastle Steel works (BHP) when young
and an underground coal mine when not so young.
Newcastle was and still is I believe, the worlds largest coal export port.
I know it doesn't mean shit in the scheme of things but I am glad to tick
those two boxes in my near sixty year old life.
These days, give me fresh air and outdoor work and no bloody shiftwork! ;-)
As interesting as this was to watch and remember the memories,
I can tell you it was not always happy families, crews and management.
Some really great blokes, funny and a pleasure to do a difficult job with
but a shitload of dead shits, lazy, incompetent and dumb as a box of hammers.
Both above and below ground.
Agreed!!
My Grandad was a Coal Miner he Worked Down the Pit ⛏ it was a Tough Job!!! ⛏️💪
8 years experience!
Great job
My father and my grandfather was coalminer in Germany Ruhrarea In over 1000meter deep coalmine.
I remember my Great Grandfather telling me stories of being “Doon the pit” (down the mine) when I was a wee boy. He was a miner from Stoneyburn,West Lothian,Scotland.
Something I’ve always wanted to do is be a coal miner.Unfortunately coal mining in Scotland and the UK as a whole is an industry consigned to the past and is history in this country now. So sad.
That’s for the best. It’s dying here in the US too even tho there are entire towns in the center us dependent of coal mining. Coal is just too dirty for people and the environment. Newer energy sources are better and cleaner and necessary. Respect for those who did it in the past however. In 2015 coal powered 34 percent of us electricity. Now in 2021 it’s 19.3 percent. Another 5 years it’s probs gunna be around 10-12 percent. It’s a dying tech.
I would not be so sure about that. Renewable energy is the biggest con in world history. Europe taking notice of a teenager environmentalists, now has a fuel crisis. Britain who has 300years of reserves under it are in a fuel crisis. Last winter 28,000 people died because they could not pay their fuel bills.. 50 years and zillion of £ all the scientists have come up with is Windows and windmills. These have no chance of powering a country. Governments known this, still they keep handing out tax payers money without any check on it. Companies with their feet in the trough are making billions out of energy what is a useless type of energy. Even the scientists are making a fortune. Telling Governments what they want to hear. The consequences of this look at the Ukraine. Europe and now America are relying on Russia of fuel. Europe and America have put Russia in a powerful position. They do not take notice of teenagers or environmentalists. China the same. Both of these countries are laughing their prices off, because of our suicide mission
why is that? I thought there was a lot of reserves there
Why did we hear just from management? What do the actual miners have to say?
Literally half the video was operators talking
And the management probably started as miners & worked their way up
Aussie mines look like a great place to work.
I love driving by the mines in Colorado Springs. I never have been in to mining but some thing about mines cache my mind

Only one, car ? How many meters a week we would cut and bolt same road ,using wombat wind and water 2.5 meter bolts and mesh 5 bolts in top 2each side about 20 minutes bolting per metre average advance 300 plus meters per 5days 8ft high 15 ft wide 👍
Wow . It still looks dangerous.
The Australian mining industry is 7x safer (mortality wise) than delivery/freight/train drivers
Black lung!!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17
Amen.
