    He had 4 thousand less receiving yards than moss in 6 less seasons on top of retiring after a 1200 yard season. He left a lot on the field. He’s definitely one of the best wrs the nfl has ever seen athletic monster.

      If I am drafting receivers in their prime to build a team for only 1 year, I am taking megatron as my #1 receiver. If it is for a career, then is it Jerry Rice of course, but prime Johnson was better than prime Rice.

    It was very little to do with his body he politely said that. He was pissed they wouldn't give him his signing bonus of over a million and he was sick of losing. If only was on the team right now hes younger than Marvin Jones Jr. They could even use him as a te or check down. He deserves the ring.

    He didn’t retire too son. He left at the right time before his body could go through worse injuries that he had before. He was 30 when he retired and he was getting hurt because it was hard to tackle him so they had to hit him like he’s a Boss level character.

    He got that name from Lions Wide receiver Roy Williams. Roy was known for being really funny and when he seen Calvin for the first time he just blurted out WHO IS THIS MEGATRON!?? And the name stuck.

    Calvin Johnson was thee hardest receiver for defenses to attempt to contain in the history of the NFL. Period. Entire schemes were designed around stopping just him, & almost never worked anyway. Most difficult player to stop ever. People don't even know man.

    Watch the Richard Sherman podcast Calvin elaborates that more and more it wasn't about him being worn out. He wanted to leave Detroit but couldn't. He had a Claus in his deal couldn't leave. That pissed him off he was feuding worth the, Fords now they are starting to repair things with the owners. The fords should'be never got into football

    Wrong. GT was not a run style offense when CJ played for us. That was Chan Gaileys team/offense. Paul Johnson took over at GT after CJ left.

    Why does everyone assume Calvin Johnson still Had years left to play? Listen to what he says himself! He was no longer megatron! He could no longer do Megatron stuff. At the time he retired. his hands were mangled ( the thing you use to CATCH, and his ankles were completely shot, ( the things you use to run)he could have came back for more seasons., but he would have been a shadow of himself. Why don't people get that? The man said it himself. PHYSICALLY he could NOT play at an elite level anymore. PERIOD. It's not the same as Barry.

    As a local Detroiter who watched almost every game Calvin played he had a moron at QB who would throw him hospital balls and get him injured all the time. Just look at what Stafford has done to Kupp getting him injured. Stafford is hot garbage.
