You're a great teacher! I have cut my 85 years young mom's hair, have for years. Always likes it very short, but now she wants a haircut to cover her hearing aids, and this is it! Thanks so much! It's great!
Thanks so much! The principles remain the same if you are looking to achieve the same or similar look even if it's a longer style. Some of the layering may change a bit in the back however this can be done on longer hair as well.
Thank you! I've loved this hairstyle for years but was afraid to try it. I recently cut my hair into a sort of shag (collar length) and I really like it, but I may go shorter and do the Meg Ryan style I've always wanted. Yours is the only video I've seen of this style, so thank you for putting it out!
As a hairdresser, I love what you are doing! Using unprocessed hair, like that of a mannequin, allows viewers to see a nice clean cut, lines are visible. Real people, with processing, and split ends are harder for you to show the clean lines, and partings for the cut. I would like to see more styling tips...blow outs, ...Thank you!
Hello dear Salon guy! I Really love your tutorials. I have been wearing Meg Ryan 's hairstyle since many years and I love it. Never get tired of it ! Thank you so much !❤❤❤
Love your work! It would be very helpful if you would use a contrasting backdrop, including your shirt or jacket to the color of the hair you're working on so we can really see all the wonderful techniques you're sharing...Thanks so much!
hi :) your tutorials are sooo great and helpful, thanks a lot for that. request: can you please do a meg ryan kate and leopold hair tutorial? i loooove her hair in that movie thank you!
I have always wanted to try a pixie cut but I have had really long hair my whole life (belly button length or longer)and am afraid to cut it all off. *^-^* BTW, Your long layering video really helped me cut the split ends out of my already layered hair. I was actually able to get the choppy look I always ask for but never seem to get when I go to the salon so thanks!
Love my hair short! In this picture is me with my 2 oldest granddaughters. I love Judi Dench's color and style. I assume the color is her own and I think she is gorgeous!
Gorgeous cut, superb tutorial! Only one problem!! I WANT this cut for myself! ;) Shall I send this tutorial to my stylist!? Lol!! Thank you for a terrific tutorial, once again. X
Stephen, once again thank you for this tutorial. It looks great! Like you said, it's varies in lengths. In her recent "People" magazine cover she has longer hair, do same principles apply? Thanks again, I really appreciate your time and guidance.
Looks very late 70's early 80's kind of hairstyle, layered hair was very popular at that time. This look is also close to Lisa Rinna's hairstlye, the rounded layering.
It's relevant if you want it to be!! I just had my hairdresser start transitioning my long pixie into this cut. I figure if the kids can bring back my bootcuts, I can bring back Meg Ryan!
Isn’t this the Lisa Rinna hair cut and mannequin? Would you then recommend doing that cut first, then transition into the Meg Ryan cut? I love your videos and advice by the way, you are so talented! Appreciate you sharing. 😍
this tutorial looks quite simple for me to follow through, I'm not a hairstylist..but I really wanna try and cut my hair like this. Do you think can anyone cut their hair like this on their own ?
A 'stylist' WONT always cut it better than yourself necessarily - There are a thousand bad 'stylists' for every hundred good. Plus depends how well you know your hair, what type of hair you have and how creative you are with scissors. We shouldn't all want to look like another person, e.g. In this case MG... But look the best version of yourself and that means adapting hair cut to your shake of face, head and hair type. Fact MOST so called hairdressers these days are blissfully ignorant of. Good luck with cutting your own hair. Take your time. Don't rush it. Cut some, style.. And see how it goes for a day or two. Then if you choose cut some more. What have you to lose! Just use decent pair scissors.. X
My requested hair cut n style, Please show us how to achieve Brittany Daniel's adorable hair ,as Brandy in the movie "Joe Dirt." Thank you, BTW! I hope you don't allow the arrogant, unappreciative, know it all , jealous type of ignorant comments.. cause you to stop teaching on CZcams, I appreciate you for taking the time to share your skills and techniques, it's art ... There is no text book correct or incorrect way, if that were the case.... Well we wouldn't have any new great styles created by the techniques of awesome, creative, hair artists such as yourself Thank you for showing us how YOU do it, and sharing YOUR technique... It's hilarious to me that people are actually trying to correct you in doing just that, hahaha like you need someone to tell you how to do things your way. 😂
+Stephanie Persin I'm dealing with this now. My niece's hair is sooooo thick and coarse...it's almost unbelievable! I cut her hair short, kind of like this, but it looks like she's wearing a wig :( I'm taking her to a salon right now...and will then pray. lol
not sure this resembles the picture.....and on straight hair it needs to be deep point cut to encourage movement...club cutting eliminates movement and renders the hair more helmet like....
I've recently returned to having this haircut. Such a pretty and feminine look. Thank you for posting

How long is the top layer?
This is the haircut I want
I love this tutorial. My daughter has tight curls. I know it wouldn't look the same, but would it work? TIA
This works best on straight hair
TheSalonGuy Thank you
TheSalonGuy
great vid! but a quick finished look of "the back of the head" would be helpful! ty! BTC
It’s nice.. but what makes that Meg Ryan hair cut so special is the color blond (for me)
Are you over directing when connecting the front side to the top layers? 6:12
Nope just straight out hun
hard to see because backdrop was black:(
Its grate
Desde Argentina! Tengo cabello muy finito... Es posible que puedan hacerme el corte?
Very, very similar to Lisa Rinna's cut n style too.
Will this cut work for thicker hair. My hair is coarse and thick
***** it could yes
Looks very late 70's early 80's kind of hairstyle, layered hair was very popular at that time. This look is also close to Lisa Rinna's hairstlye, the rounded layering.
nice
Where can I get a appointment with you. I am a older woman but I love this cut
Wish you would show us the back when finished.
Is this cut still relevant? I've always loved it, had my own hair in this style several years ago...
It's relevant if you want it to be!! I just had my hairdresser start transitioning my long pixie into this cut. I figure if the kids can bring back my bootcuts, I can bring back Meg Ryan!
Love it. The mannequins hair was already short
U did lots of style w.sissors to hair.....clippty clip
I'd love you to give me that haircut!
This will be my haircut from now on. Hmmmnnn If I could only find someone to cut the back in a pandemic.
Mesmerizing.
How about short wavy, thick, coarse "bouschlakka" hair, would this cut work for me? I have a round face (I think)
Thanks,
M

Watch my lisa rinna tutorial
this tutorial looks quite simple for me to follow through, I'm not a hairstylist..but I really wanna try and cut my hair like this. Do you think can anyone cut their hair like this on their own ?
yes they can hun but not as good as a stylist

Quero este corte, alguém ele em São José dos Campos?
i feel like you have to be a pro to do this
Hola, me gusta mucho el tipo de corte que trae esta artista pero no se que tanto me favorezca, me podria aconsejar.?? Gracias anticipadamente.
My requested hair cut n style,
Please show us how to achieve Brittany Daniel's adorable hair ,as Brandy in the movie "Joe Dirt."

Need better camera angles for the side. Was tricky to see how the sides where done.
Si igualito que el de Meg Ryan 😂😂😂
geeze, everything so dark... hair dark, background dark... hard to see
I have short hair and it is very hard to find someone to cut layers and if you have coarse hair the stylist has to use a razor to thin out the hair.
+Stephanie Persin I'm dealing with this now. My niece's hair is sooooo thick and coarse...it's almost unbelievable! I cut her hair short, kind of like this, but it looks like she's wearing a wig :( I'm taking her to a salon right now...and will then pray. lol

Can you cut my hair too
