    Thanks for the video. I bought all 4 shocks through your links. Hope it gave u some money 😁

      Thank you - I hope (and think) you will really like them! For a small size channel like mine, using the product links in the description moves the needle - and is very much appreciated!!

    Thanks for the video. I only became a C5 owner within the past year and wasn't aware at how easy this upgrade is. My car was all stock when I got it so it's due for some upgrades and maintenance.

  • @AllenSAshley
    @AllenSAshley Před rokem +4

    I didn't notice a huge difference when I did mine. The main benefit I got was less 'bump steer' over rough/uneven roads. I still think it was worth it though.

    I replaced the stock C5 Z06 shocks with C6 Z06 shocks on my 02 Z06. I liked the new shocks on the first drive. I also replaced the rubber sway bar bushings front and back with poly bushings. What a difference from stock!

    Great info! I put C6 Z06 shocks on my O2 vert just over a year ago. Very noticeable difference in ride over stock but always wondered if the Bilstein HD shocks were a better choice. Thanks for the video. 😊

    I really need to replace my shocks as they are starting to weep a little bit, I have around 65,000 miles on my 2003 C5. My main issue is my Corvette has the F55 mag shocks and they are ridiculously expensive. I usually drive around in sport mode anyways so firmer shocks would be totally fine with me! 😊 thank you for the video and the reminder I gotta get this figured out reasonably soon.

      You can change to c6 zo6 shocks and use a tech 2 to get rid of the f55. It’s just not worth the money to get those

    Definitely taking those coil overs out (Pfadt race engineering) and installing new C6 Z06 shocks on my C5 Z.
    Great video, BTW!

    Great video. Agree that the C6z06 shocks are just about perfect for a C5. Myself, I put in Bilstein shocks before I knew about these. Really didn't like them until I changed my softride springs and sway bars to C5z06 spec. Now everything matches and feels balanced.

    Any experience with Koni yellow shocks on a C5? I had them in 4th gen Camaro and they were worth the price to me on that car. It was slightly stiffer not harsh , amazing around the turns.

    I put C6Z shocks on my 2K coupe with oem 100,000 + mile stock shocks, it was like a different car, much better
    Roads here are pretty smooth though in Michigan where I was l could see these being pretty firm.

    Great videos. I’m about to replace my 2002 C5 to the C6 Z06 shocks. The Z06 shocks I purchased did not come with the upper bushings and I can not find there anywhere online. Did you use your original C5 bushings?

    Thank You ( Toys4Life c5 ) looking at your video on the changing of your shocks from the C-5 to a C6 z06 have you ever considered now with the technology that you would to a MagneRide
    suspension that the C7 Z06 has, or if anyone have ever done it before

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  Před 9 měsíci +1

      That would be pretty complicated, I think they're tied into the body control module. Of course some c5s do come with magnetic ride. That would be easiest, but replacement shocks are like a grand a piece I think I've heard... Yikes

  • @vettepwr23

    What do you guys recommend for a lowered C5? I have a 99 C5 with about 60k miles. It still has the original F45 adjustable suspension. I have been running lowered since 15k miles. Btw, it does ride like crap. I’m sure lowering doesn’t help and will most likely raise it up a bit.

    Do you have the F55 Sport/Tour suspension switch? I have the Sport/Tour switch on my 2004 C5 . I understand I have to install a "Kit? What is the "KIT" I have to install to avoid the Codes and 80Mph Max?

    Hi Toys 4 Life, my C5 has the Comfort Sport Performance switch located near the gear selector / console, does it still use “conventional shocks” like this or do I have some “specialty selective dampening” shocks?

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  Před rokem

      To remove the tire you just need to get it off the ground and inch, I think you need a few more to slide under there and get your arm up there, but you can easily do it with out a lift.

      @@Toys4Life Thanks for the reply! I had my cast iron jack stands maxed out on the height but I'll try again with some lumber under the jack stands. I have a pit in my garage but it's a two man job getting my C5 over the pit. Not so scary with my beater pickup but the Corvette is a different story. ; )

    So if I already have mag ride sensor deletes then I could use the c6 Z shocks?

  • @frontieradventures2199

    If you have the mag ride control (F55 suspension) any idea if the C6 Z06 shocks work without any codes?

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  Před rokem

      I believe you need to get the 2003 tuned out, and there's some question as to whether or not you can get it tuned out for the '04. I'm pretty sure you'll set codes on both unless something is tuned out with a GM tech 2 programmer.

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  Před rokem

      Ballpark, 7 years or 70,000 miles. That having been sad, some shocks could fill within a year or two, some could go 15 years. Tons of variables and luck. IMO

    C5 shocks are grossly inadequate. The car isn't even drivable with them. C6 Z06 shocks are still not stiff enough for check the use
