Bad light for the day, and the video cam struggles with focus due to the lack of contrast from the low lying clouds, but tried to capture "Doc" as it performed a take-off, a circle around the airport and its landing.
I had to try to take advantage of being able to access the airport as much as possible regardless of being able to wait for the best light, which was a good choice as the day didn't clear until well after the last flights.

There is way too much commercial build-up around Chino Airport. Good to see DOC up in the air.

Yeah, that is a fact. I've not any hard evidence, but have heard that is why PoF airshow isn't planning to return as they can't get the clearance for a show due to development encroachment to the airport.
BUT like you - I am always glad to see Doc on their yearly stopovers to Chino!

Unless "FiFi" is still grounded "Doc" is only flyable Superfortress.
Maybe both should be grounded long-term for histories sake, but keep them in flyable condition.
Look what happened to the last N9M Flying Wing. Once gone that's it.

Are you talking about that April Fool's video that was posted. FiFi is still up as far as I am aware.
If you are going to ground them, then why spend the time, effort and money it would take to keep them in flying condition? That just doesn't make sense.

Might change your tune after one of them crashes. I do know if at least 3 B-17s have crashed in the last 5-8 years. How many more Fortresses that are still in flyable condition?
At least you still have living flyable condition history.
BTW, did not know "FiFi" was April fools joke.

@@williammoreno2378 More than a couple have crashed - it is a risk, and something that is known when flying older planes. It depends on the crew that is with them and their ability to maintain. But I'm not advocating one way or the other on them flying or not, just questioning the need to keep them in "flying condition" if they are going to be grounded. I've been up in this one, and it is truly a unique and exciting experience, but I do understand the need to evaluate it if not at just a case by case basis on the planes.

A lot more 55-57 Chevy "Shoe boxes" and T-Birds than 17's and 29's if you know what I mean.
IMHO, I'd like to see FiFi and Doc be kept in "turn-key" condition and taxied for the crowd. Once these two are gone, that's it.
