    I like the carving outcome using all those fancy instruments which you don't find in ordinary dental clinics. That was brilliant! But I am sure I speak for everyone here when I say that instructional videos such as these should show how the final restoration looks like after checking occlusion with opposite arch. I was also concerned a bit about the gap between the matrix band and tooth in the distal aspect. Easy for bonding agent or composite material to seep through and produce a overhang. Also the distal was not a rounded smooth line after finishing and polishing. It was ditched. But it's just me.
    I am very pedantic and look for perfection in these kind of videos.

    This video is good and I just hope you bevel the "cavosurface margin". A lot of dentist don't do that. Leaving undermined enamel rods. Since this serves as a learning video, it matters to remove all dental caries even if it is incipient or on the grooves (of model teeth). I commend for establishing the oblique ridge and marginal ridges which again a lot of dentists fail to do. Good job on this!

    • @martinlaird4738
      @martinlaird4738 Před 7 lety

      I totally agree, the cavosurface margins are very rough and no bevel was created which will not provide extra stability for the restoration. Quite poor practice. But the rest was good

    Nice look but some problems- after etch was dried off no high volume suction was in the area to remove water, likly this rolled back and contaminated the bond. The bond was not dried until the solvent was evaporated and no movement seen. The distal contact was a point contact and rather than a broad contact with height and width, this was due to the band being soft and the composite not forced outwards towards the burnished but soft matrix. I wonder if I would have treated this tooth. True there are enamel cracks mesial and distal but these would run out at the cej likley and be self limiting. Composite has 8 times the number of bacteria under it versus amalgam due to bond failure, shrinkage and the fact composite absorbs water and sucks in bacteria. Quite a bit to consider there.

    Muito legal o vídeo. Esperei ver dois detalhes que passaram despercebidos. a questão do biselamento e do fator cavitário.

    • @lfdaltoe
      @lfdaltoe  Před 8 lety

      Olá Pedro Amorin, o biselamento não é realizado em dentes posteriores pois cria uma interface muito fina de resina no ângulo cavo superficial. Esta é a minha conduta. Quanto ao fator de configuração cavitário, os cuidados foram tomados sim. Basta perceber que nas caixas próximas foram inseridos três incrementos de resina. E na caixa oclusal, o fato de desenhar os sulcos, permite a separação dos incrementos de resina composta. Assim , o fator "c" é minimizado. Obrigado pelo seu comentário

    I've got few doubts in this
    1. is it not necessary to bevel the cavosurface angle/margins for composites?
    2. the matrix band use distally didn't give a broad contact but a point contact so won't it allow for food accumulation?

    • @heathervannuil4835
      @heathervannuil4835 Před 7 lety

The gel has purpose to prevent the contact of the last layer with oxygen, Polymerizing completely the surface of the resin. The gel should be water soluble to be easily removed with the spray air / water

    • @lfdaltoe
      @lfdaltoe  Před 8 lety

      Olá Luis, com uma bolinha levemente úmida, vc pode deixar a cavidade com umidade excessiva. E a algodão perderia sua função principal, que é a absorção do excesso de água, sem secar completamente a dentina. Com o algodão seco, vc protege a dentina do contato com o ar e seca o suficiente.

    • @lfdaltoe
      @lfdaltoe  Před 8 lety +1

      Olá. o Microbrush é usado sem adesivo. A utilização do adesivo, pode alterar as propriedades da resina composta. Quando vc "bate"de leve na resina, com o microbrush, ocorre afloramento do monômero, o que torna descenessário usar adesivo. O gel utilizado neste caso, foi um gel hidrossolúvel, destes utilizados para exames de ultrasom. Existem produtos específicos vendidos em dentárias. Obrigado por ter assistido ao video. Compartilhe.

    It seems this would be an unstable filling because of the many layers.

    Olá, parabéns ficou lindo. Mas fiquei em dúvida quanto ao gel hidrossolúvel que você utiliza no final. Qual a finalidade? Obrigada

    • @lennondec
      @lennondec Před 8 lety

      é porque o oxigênio durante a ação da luz polimerizadora forma uma camada de inibição de polimerização da resina e pra que a restauração seja efetiva é necessário o uso do gel para a última fotopolimerização. Esse gel pode ser inclusive o KY, de uso íntimo.
      Espero ter ajudado!

      Djalma Dutra Este gel que aparece no final pode ser um lubrificante íntimo que tem por finalidade isolar a superfície da última camada de resina com o ar durante a fotoativação permitindo assim a polimerização completa da resina.
