Thanks for putting this up man! LiS score is so underrated, this piece is one of my all-time favorites!
The movie as a whole is underrated in my opinion. But the score in the movie was pretty badass. Especially the launch of Jupiter 2.
Start at 11:56:15 PM on New Year's Eve for an awesome start to a new year!
"And the monkey flips the switch."
My favorite part of the score :)
well done thanks.
Is there room in these tubes for 2? ;)
There's barely enough for you and your ego, Major.
Why does it say "rough" , is this a draft of the score or something?
"Rough Complete Score" is basically the term I use for my fanmade complete score projects taken from sources like the DVD's 5.1 audio track. By it's very nature, it won't sound as good as an official Complete Score release taken from the original score recordings or sheet music, but it's also infinitely better than the original soundtrack album in terms of content and presentation. Think of it like a "Harmy's Despecialized Edition" for film scores.
There's a kind-of long story behind it... After first learning of the existence of the original Intrada Album for Lost In Space, I was really excited to get it. I thought it was really good... Until I realized there were quite a few bits missing, especially one of my favorite bits from Spiders Attack, where Major West lures the spiders away from the Jupiter with the Proteus' engines.
To make up for this, I took as many sources as I could find to recreate the full version of Spiders Attack. That video is the earliest thing I uploaded to CZcams that's still up today. In the description, I called it a "meticulous, if rough recreation" of Spiders Attack. Since then, I uploaded the rest of the Lost In Space score that was publicly available at the time. I mostly had to resort to using the 5.1 audio track, so I thought it would be fitting for each video to be called "Rough Complete Score," and the name sort of stuck. I went on to use that title for the Secret Of NIMH's and How To Train Your Dragon's scores as well.
