This is honestly such a phenomenal channel. As a prospective clinical psychologist who hasn't yet received formal training on the day-to-day responsibilities of private practice, but who still wants to get a clearer idea for how everything works and how to do things right, this is incredibly helpful! You lay out everything so clearly, with just the right amount of information, and I appreciate you linking other videos that dive into more specific topics (e.g. phone screens) as they become relevant. It's so hard to find good, engaging information about all of this, and you make it so fun and personable. Thank you for your hard work!!

I love your channel so much because I’m thinking about potentially going back to school for a degree in counseling and I really appreciate getting so much insight into what running a private practice would look like.

I have watched a few of your videos in the last few days and I really appreciate the public service you are performing for therapists interested in private practice. It is very generous and kind of you, Dr. Marie. Thanks! 👍
PS. Are there consultants in the field that specialize in helping therapists open up a private practice? Sometimes, having someone experienced holding your hand along the way can be very beneficial.

Great and thanks for the email. I usually add late appts and a short declaration to say I am not an emergency service, but in time of crisis who they can contact primarily.

Hi Marie, thank you for sharing your process. I've had to really navigate this with old school therapist (No website, hardcopy paperwork). In watching this video, I decided I am going to incorporate the appointment confirmation email; as I've noticed client's or I forgot some key information for the first session. So thanks for sharing!

Great video! Do you have a video on how and when exactly to take client card payment if doing teletherapy online? I currently use simple practice and just starting out so I'm nervous about how to time when to ask for payment. Do you take at the end or beginning of session? What phrasing do you use? Thank you

Can we talk more about the first minute and a half of this video? Why do you think clients reach out and then don't follow through with the call? I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere. Looking forward to your reply!
