BARN FIND Ford Tractor Revival!! Hasn't Ran In 20 Years!!!

- In this episode of GROB I try and resurrect my grandfathers 1948 Ford 8N Tractor that has been sitting for 20 years. This machine has been buried by time and lots and lots of stuff. This revival took more time cleaning than the actual machine took to get running. I hope you like this episode and if you do then make sure you like, subscribe and leave a comment on my video. Thanks again and as always keep those wrenches turning!

Grampa's truck needs to go on the show and parade circuit......I have never, ever seen one rusted that bad, and still be running, it's got to be a best something of show

would definitely be cool to see more tractor revivals, would also be cool to see a revival on those old chainsaws. nice job on that ford.
Thanks for the comment and yeah I’d be willing to try and get those chainsaws running
Good to see it running again. Congratulations
@@brianhayes7618 thank you and thanks for the comment 😁
I think it’s pretty cool to go around your grandpap’s she’s or barns or garages and get everything running again. I never really had that opportunity. That’s a big 👌🏻 in my book!
Love those 8ns they have a great road gear pretty fast
I totally agree! And I think he will too 😁 thanks for the comment 😁
My dad had exactly one of these growing up. He used to bush hog the grass and till the fields during planting time. The versatility of these were amazing. However as a kid, I HATED the sound of the accelerator bar screeching when ever you moved it. This video brought back all those memories from 35 years ago. THANKS JOHN!! (just kiddin, great vid bud)
@@wtbeecher hey thanks for the comment I really appreciate it and awesome that I could bring some of those memories back 😃
That old Ford sounds goood... Like it. When you bring your other tractors back around please make a video I will watch it for sure..
@@Charger389 yeah hopefully I can get to work on those other one and get them up and running thanks for the comment 😁
Looks like a nice '48-'49 8n. I'm working on a '41 9n, '57 Ford 850, and a few old Cub Cadets. Gotta love these for their simplicity.
That’s awesome I just got a book on these old fords a lot of neat history wish that they could tell stories 😁 thanks for the comment
@@goldenrustorbustIf they could tell stories, it would probably be horror stories about how the farmers “fixed” them to finish a days work. 😅 Have a great day and enjoy your “new” tractor!
Yep, I really did like this tractor video so I hope to see some more in the future
Love the tractor content and glad that it didn't burn down the garage!
Same here 😂
Let's see some more old tractor revivals. It's pretty cool helping your grandpa get those old machines moving again.
Yeah he’s pretty happy to watch me get them running and moving around again 😁

Great job John, glad to see it running and driving again. I just revived my first tractor as well this week, 1949 8N. New ring gear amd clutch along with many other little things but it runs awesome now. Next is a '58 John Deere 730. I look forward to future tractor videos, stay safe on the old Ford!
Awesome that 58 John Deere would be super cool 😎 thanks for the comment 😁
Great old tractor.

Nothing wrong with tractors, its amazing what they could do with a few Hp! Heck, my Farmall Cub is only 12-14Hp... Thanx !

Love watching John's channel, surely makita, dewalt or one of the bigger companies could help the poor man out with some power tools for his channel, the man's got to save his pennies for the new baby on the way, someone help this new family out. Keep the vidz coming .😊
Hahahah thanks for the comment and I’d be lucky if I got a screwdriver set 😂
I bet a carb rebuild is in order judging by the hard starting. The brakes probably also need a going through or some vigorous use and she could use a good cleaning. Other than that it looks like that thing is ready to be put back to work!!!
Yeah hopefully we can get her working out back in no time😁
The Iowan famer POV simulator was pretty cool

Fun stuff man! Great to see you back at it! Ps best cheap power tools I've owned yet are Hobo Freights Bauer line. Their deals on batteries, charger, and tool combos can't be beat. Highly recommend their Bauer 3speed impact wrench. It's free with purchase of a 5Ah battery and charger for 89.99. Can't beat it! Keep on Keeping on man! 🤘
Thanks for the comment and I’ll definitely look into that 😁
There’s something called Texas red, which is a very sloppy “juice” that you can squirt into the tube. It’s kinda like slime tire sealer. It’s not corrosive like calcium chloride and it makes good weight enhancement
I’ll have to look into that thanks for the tip😁
Oh man I'm so stoked for this. I have a 1945 9n that I brought back. Amazing machines!!!

The old rim would be a pretty schweet fire pit on legs. Cut a slot at the split for ash removal.
That would be a cool thing to do with it since it will never be used as a rim again
I’m still waiting for the video on those old big tractors that you showed us a couple years ago
Hopefully I can get to those soon
Love the will it run tractor videos! New sub here!
Awesome thanks for the comment and thanks for the sub 😁
For ugga dugga machines I might suggest Harbor Frieght. Thier Hercules series are good tools. Get the ultra torque 1/2" with the 8 amp-hour battery and the midsize 1/2 tool with the 4 or 5 amp hour battery.
Formost thing the mid size will do fine, if it doesn't the ultra torque will. They make the mid size with 3/8" drive too. So your choice on 1/2" or 3/8".
Ok I’ll look into that always into cheap tools thanks for the comment 😁
Thanks for another great video (but of course we know that the Ford tractor is just an imitation of the UK Ferguson 20----- just my opinion and please don't be offended) Could you try and persuade your grandad to take part in more of your videos, I can identify with him as I am 79! Best regards from Ireland.
I see a Maytag on the wall. Should do that.
Yeah I checked it out and it has a stuck engine might work on it in the future thanks for the comment 😁

@goldenrustorbust thats about all I work on in my channel and it breaks my heart to see people throw the big ones away because "they are old"...okay that applies to about anything motorized lol. Anyways now to finish the video, I'm at the tires part.
I'd love to see the "B" run
