As others continue to say, I listen to the coverage and glance up occasionally typically. Love it of course but the new scoring lower Thirds are so hard to follow like this. Still missing the classic scoring

I actually found it very refreshing having Brian as a commentator. It felt like they had very good chemistry and the rambling from the first round got dialed back a few notches. Thank you for the great content!

The conversation at 10:00 about a one finger sidearm is the latest evidence that each player should figure out what grip works for them and ignore about 90% of what experts say. Everyone's hands and fingers/thumbs are different and there can be no universal "best" way to grip a disc.
This is a great point, and it might be better to say "best" for each person. And then again, it might be "best" for a period of time, until they evolve into a new "best." Just to give an example, I used to power grip everything because it was the most comfortable, having tried various modified and fanned grips. A few years after playing, I migrated to a modified power grip that is now better than the power grip. It wasn't that way years ago. đ

Physical build wise.... Gavin Babcock, to me at least, looks like he was made to crush a Disc a long way. The guy is big, powerful and looks like he is wound up with quick twitch muscles. Physically he has it all....

That dude I've never heard behind the mic before, so Bear, was telling how ppl felt about their throws which to me is very interesting (as in the mental game of the sport), sharing good observations about the tracks, and also passing good questions to Jerm. I would say that it was a stellar commentary.
@@apinakapina He's fine technically, but he's pompous, rude, talks over his fellow commentators, is overly judgemental of the players even though hes not even close to their skill level, talks with ultimate selfish assurance even though he is mistaken a lot, etc, etc. Even though he was OK in this round, I have developed a bad taste for him over the many rounds I've watched in which hes commentated. He needs to either do some self reflection or find another way to be useful to the disc golf industry.

Funny to hear Jerm step up his game with a real sports commentator like Earhart in the booth.
Love big Jerm but he is definitely more comfortable in a casual setting with Uli or Sexton.
I like the regular Jomez team, and I miss hearing Brian on Gatekeeper. I have no complaints with Nate and Andrew, but Brian belongs on Gatekeeper.
Brian's commentary is like listening to large grit sandpaper on a cheese grater.
The lead card teed off at something like 445 pm. That means Jomez edits are delayed until nearly 1/130am and that means we're not finishing up until just before 3am. Earnhart woke up at 4am to get ready to cover two rounds all while wearing a 30 lb backpack. I think we should be applauding his 23 hr efforts yesterday to ensure the world got a 2nd perspective in the booth in Paul's absence.
@@bigjermdg Not questioning Earharts technical proficiency, effort or anything else. I appreciate all that. There are things I do not appreciate about the way he conducts himself, however.

Dear Jerm,
Your job in commentary is to pay attention to what's happening on the video. I don't want this comment to be popular, I just want you to consider it. Hole 3 is an example where Babcock spits out CLEARLY on the deep side of the chains to go OB. Your commentary emphasized the leaf costing him the ace. The leaf saved his disc from the water, and it gave his shot a chance at an ace. The leaf he hit was a lucky break. This example is extremely clear because I've seen the same thing many times on coverage with your commentary where you say things with authority that are clearly wrong. I don't want you to appear foolish. I enjoy your commentary. I know you don't mind looking foolish. Regardless, this type of thing has happened so many times that I'd appreciate seeing a change. Additionally, Earheart being on this round showed the potential level of professionalism you could achieve. I love Uli as we all do. Him being a "yes man" isn't terrible because your commentary has shining moments that he complements. If you upgraded your level of commentary, it would increase the quality of all the influential people around you. It's like a realtime butterfly effect that could influence all of disc golf. And that's why I'm spending my precious time for free with the video paused to express this to you respectfully. If you read this, thank you đ I hope you can consider it and implement it seamlessly without anyone noticing. No need to mention it, respond to it, like it, etc I'm humbly giving constructive criticism and appreciating what you do from the shadows †I know your schedule is grueling and you're trying but it would make a lot of difference
I appreciate well thought out feedback/ critique. Always. I definitely get it wrong on occasion. I call it as I see it and that's all I can do. I'll consider being less definitive on a snap judgment call as to not overly dramatize each and every throw. In my defense however, this round of commentary didn't start until roughly 1:30 am and it has already been quite a long day. We were both doing our best to get through the late night lol

Iâm a 1-finger side arm thrower. I tried power grip for 2 years but could never find control. Iâm much happier using the grip from my Ultimate days and sacrificing 30-feet of distance if the disc does what I want it to with way more frequency.
I guess jomez has fully outgrown their ability in covering major events. They gave away who wins. They did not let ppl know why they couldnt play in a little bit of wind. Commentators just skipping rounds.
