- Winter landing at LFLJ- Courchevel Altiport with Pilatus PC12NGX.
This airport is considered dangerous, as it features a difficult approach, an upward-sloping runway and ski runs in the adjacent area.

As far as I can see, a perfectly executed approach and landing. Well done!
500, 100, 20, staaaaall 😂😂
Near..
Whilst skiing, I have watched many aircraft landing and taking off at Courchevel Airport. Wonderful!
Picture perfect video and landing. I definitely appreciate the no long intro . You got right to the video. Brilliant!!!
Serious competence there. 👍
Adds power to exit the runway. Love it
That was a smooth landing at what looks like a beautiful airport. Living the dream no doubt!
With headphone on and a laptop, I felt like I was right there with you! This reminds me of times in a Cessna 180 (but so much smoother).
Fantastic capture! May I feature this landing in one of my next episodes? Of course with a link back to your original video. All the best to you and happy 2024! 🎉
Good Evening Sir, absolutely, no problem :)
Awesome, thanks! @@Grassik3
Thats a cool landing at a phenomenal airport ❤😊
I love standing on the slope above the airport watching airplanes land or take off, which is actually pretty rare. It's a fun extra experience on a ski day.
Do you know where can i find this airport timetables ? I'm going soon for one week there and would love to do airplane spotting along with ski 🎿 ? Thanks a million 😊
As far as I am aware there is no regular service into the airport rather private flights arrive spontaneously. There is a nice outdoors terrasse downhill from the airport where one can have a break with a view of the landing strip.@@snapsorfly
@@snapsorfly flightradar24 has some limited arrivals/departures info for this airport. search for LFLJ.
Looks like a steep upsloping runway which helps a lot. One way in one way out. Best in calm winds with a high performance airplane on a cold day.
Good example of a stable approach. All parameters are kept within limits.
Everything beautiful: the place, the aircraft and the skills.
En prime vous faites ch.. la nature 😝
@@jeanfrancoishernandez3657 Vive la France!
Land short - hit a vertical wall
Go around - hit a mountain
Such a great video
Two 👍👍 Up !!
Two of those Pilatus haven’t made it all the way onto the runway.
Takeoff is even more spectacular...
slow speed of plane falls off landing strip, then start climbing the facade of opposite mountain 😅
Bell' atterraggio !
Nice Video! can i use this as part of my series? you will be credited in the description and video
Hi sir, no problem, enjoy :)
Wow wery good graphics, it is dx12? :D
It's the only case where you land with a positive vertical speed.
Nice.
No, it's Courchevel... 😁
@@honumoorea873 Interesting humor in your reply.
thats the right gliding slope?
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
provate a vedere il video : Locher Sarentino Airfield Landing guide, ( sempre con un pc12) e poi ne riparliamo!
I can't believe I see a piston single cirrus on the ramp. WTH would fly into there without a second engine or a turbo prop.
Log it.
If you don't touch down before the upsloap, can't you risk a hard landing?
It depends a lot on your pitch/power setting. But Hard landing is in most times better than long landing. Especially in Courchevel :)
@Grassik3 I totally get that. So like are you thinking a more short field kinda touchdown, or is it just business as usual? And lmao, yes, definitely don't want to overrun overthere
@@Grassik3Nothing that the technicians can't fix! 😂
Only a n00b would worry about such trivial details. Most of us mail the landing every time.
@@believeachieve2847Affirm, you should have a short field based mindset. But with the Firm landing is better than a long landing is our mindset always, doesn´t matter what airport it is. Because if you want to be legal, you have to touch down in the touch down zone (There are of course some exceptions) But in normal conditions you must land within the touchdown zone. So we don´t really care about how hard/smooth the landing was, but: stable approach, landing on the centerline and landing within the Touch Down zone.
Yikes. Successful go-around...unlikely.
