When I watched Toilet Bound Hanako- Kun for the first time, I watched the english. I love the english, after I watched Toilet Bound I started watching Toilet Bound videos on CZcams. When I heard the Japanese version, I also fell in love with it. I can watch either one, I love the voices in both. Even though some of the voices sound completely different 😂😅❤️

I've watched both subs and dubs twice and I believe both r pretty good but I think the humor and comedy is way more hilarious in the dub

Both are good, and I'm glad the English one in particular is good cuz the dubbed version is the only way I'm gonna watch any anime, so that's a plus, I love hanako's voice the most 😁💜
I think the English and Japanese voices captured the characters perfectly! Just in different ways. An example, Tsukasa is Japanese sounds more cute, and in English, more creepy! I think it’s a good example of his creepy-cute personality.

As someone who didn’t know that the English version existed until they finished watching the anime, I have mixed feelings on the English voices. I much prefer the Japanese ones.

Well, most kids tend to grow a deeper voice by the age of 14, (Most 14-year old boys I know have already developed a surprisingly deep voice) so I would say some of the characters are pretty accurate.

Although Mitsuba's voice doesn't suit him at all, you can't say his voice actor did a bad job. He grasped Mitsuba's energy so well, had every emotion in his voice, it's just that his voice is too deep for Mitsuba, and that's not his fault.
Actually I think this might have been what the casting director wanted
One reason is to show that feminine appearing men are actually men to the audience
Another reason is to establish that the character is not happy with their appearance being feminine such that the character deepens their voice on purpose

I like both it captures the character well. In English he switches from a softer spoken to more aggressive gruff course speech which shows how his looks and his personality don't match but he does play into his looks and has a bit of an ego for it when he's feeling confident....but is also terrified of a lot of things especially with that intro I can only assume he's experienced plenty of unwanted uncomfortable male advances

People forget that it's called voice acting and not voice reenacting, stop caring so much about the difference in their voice and listen to the acting itself

You are right. But not picking the right voice for a character ruins the whole fun of watching.
I think they're both good for their own reasons. The dub has some good moments and so does the sub, their voices are quite different but both of their acting is very good. I think they did a good job casting the English Dub cast since if I'm being honest, and I'm sure many people agree, his voice would not sound as good if they gave him a girl VA. His voice in the dub is high enough to sound younger and masculine enough to know he's a boy. That's one thing a lot of weebs look past, the VA for him in the Sub (though good) doesn't really fit his character, his voice is way too high and while some people enjoy that, I think they did a good job with him in the Dub. They kept his high voice but made it a little more masculine and even a little lustful, kind of like how his character acts in the show.
