Ibrahim Traore is Finally Changing Burkina Faso with These 5 New Mega Projects.
When he seized Power in 2022, Ibrahim Traore Vowed to change the Lives of the people of Burkina Faso, unlike his predecessor. His statement up to now can be considered valid because of the many reforms and development projects that are currently underway in Burkina Faso. He is also shifting partnerships, moving away from a Parasitic French and Western partnership to a More Mutualistic Russian Partnership.
5. Modernization of all Roads
Despite being blessed with Abundant Natural Resources, Burkina Faso remains hugely underdeveloped with poor road infrastructures that hinder the transportation of people and goods within the country. The poor state of roads in the Country stirred up serious outrages towards the previous government but Ibrahim Traore is trying to change the narrative by building new roads, winding the Existing ones, and upgrading gravel roads to paved surfaces. Upon Completion, these roads will massively boost the economy of Burkina Faso
4. Construction of Ouagadougou Airport
Construction of the Ouagadougou Airport is a project that is currently underway in Burkina Faso projected to open up the Country for more global trade and tourism. The project which was launched in 2021, is expected to be completed in 2025. Upon Completion, it will replace the existing Ouagadougou Taamse International Airport and will have the capacity to handle 1 million passengers annually. The Project has also provided job opportunities to more than 500 people the majority of whom are citizens of Burkina Faso.
3. Northern Interchange project
Located right at the Center of the Capital City of Ouagadougou, the Construction of this Northern Interchange started way back in 2018. The Interchange which is almost Complete is expected to massively reduce traffic congestion within the city.
2. Samendeni Dam Project
The Samendeni Hydroelectric Dam Project is a hydroelectric dam project that is being constructed by the Government of Burkina Faso in Collaboration with the Saudi Bank For Development. Other players in the Project Include the Islam Development Bank, the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, the West African Development Bank, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, and the OPEC Fund for Development. The Dam project is part of the Samendeni Basin Development program which aims to promote sustainable growth in Rural Areas and improve living conditions by boosting the Agricultural sector and food security system in Burkina Faso.
