How empty the rock world is without Rick,, , you try to get the sweeping shredders play 2 hours of metronome precise 12 bar blues on 11 gauge strings,,,, Rick was a beast of a rhythm guitar player !! And a great singer !!
Heroes since 1972, first got to see them play live two nights running in 1976, last time was 2015. 😢 Although it’s only FR remaining from the original line up, I still enjoy the band.
Saw their two end of the road concerts in the 80s at Selhurst Park and Milton Keynes. The last gigs with the 'proper' line-up - my calves hurt for days afterwards from bouncing up and down for two hours each night. Everyone thinks Quo's music is easy but if you've ever tried playing a Quo song like Quo play it, then you'll appreciate the amount of ballsy effort it takes to make that unique sound. I don't have may heroes but Parfitt and Rossi are two of them - they made me want to be them. Plus their harmonies are often overlooked - top, top band.
I adore these guys - they brought so much joy to my life. I’ve been once at their concert long time ago in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. It was in concert hall with perfect acoustic. They blew me away in seconds…
I love what Francis said in an interview about "Why not play Wembley for 3-5 nights and earn the big bucks there?" he answered "Then we wouldnt be on the road!"
Thank's 🙏you save my day😂 Fantastic time , Rick funny & Francis played like no one else.🍺from🇩🇪,love England,we were many Times there for Quo, football, Sightseeing & Pub's , always a pleasure 👍
"This is mic number one isn't this a lot of fun! .........where did you come from?!"🤣🤣💜👍✌️ I've seen Quo live more than any other band why? Because they're tight, good, old fashioned rock and rollers, who always give a great show✌️👍💜😊
Don’t Waste My Time - what an absolutely rip-roarer of a classic 12 bar boogie song from the uniformly excellent Piledriver album (arguably Quo’s best).
what I admired the most is their stamina in barree grabbing and the traditional rock 'n roll grip with the little finger. I've tried it myself for years but never managed in terms of strength😅
obviously i know its from brighton as the title suggests and as a native i know that venue like a second home, but what was this filmed for? ive never seen the footage before!
Yes!!!, and The Falcons (1963), Gerry Levene and The Avengers (1964), Mike Sheridan and The Nightriders (1964-65), Mike Sheridan´s Lot (1965), Rock Brigade (1979), The Rockers (1983), Doctor and the Medics with Roy Wood (1986), Roy Wood´s Army (1988), Roy Wood Big Band (90´s +...), Roy Wood Rock & Roll Band (this group is the group that Wood was playing in at the same time as this Status Quo video)... etc etc etc.. great great great Roy Wood..👍
@@heavyheadrecords He was, but he deserves so much more than that for his work with The Move - one of the best bands of the 60s, Wizzard - one of the top bands of the glam rock era, and his solo work. I fear it will be a case of waiting till he dies before his talent actually gets recognised.
The annoying thing is my wife and I were meant to be at that concert, but our eldest daughter forgot to book a leave day off 4 months in advance (!) so she could watch our youngest boy that night. We had some words to say to her at the time given we had great seats not far from the stage!
Similar thing happened to me. I was meant to see them in 1969 but my wife (Neil Armstrong) had to go to the moon or something with a couple of friends. Needless to say…we divorced shortly after.

That team where 🎉 fire♡
From 1975 till now fan Still miss you Rick

Saw these guys a few years ago. There were several big bands on the card but these boys were head and shoulders the best.
I once saw Status Quo live and it was a great performance. You can’t keep old rockers down, they still play as well as ever.
I love what Francis said in an interview about "Why not play Wembley for 3-5 nights and earn the big bucks there?" he answered "Then we wouldnt be on the road!"
I saw them on my 16th birthday - it was amazing. I'm 57 now 🙂
Made some good stuff over the years total respect to them especially Francis
Andy Brown ❤
Bown
Best rock band.....ever. still miss Rick and Alan, now rocking with angels.
God bless Rick. Legend!
I was at the Brighton Centre that night!! Great gig
Sound 1000 times better than any Simon Cowell boy band just on the sound check
That's because it's not mass production shite
Rick still sadly missed.
Ah, classic Rick at the end 😂

I was in a concert from them 6 times since 1975
It should have been Rick and roll instead of Rock and roll
Fascinating. I’ve never seen that side of Quo before. Cool 🙂.
Glad you enjoyed it
always love quo and to see this is amazin we miss rick they are still the best
Such an underated guitarist is rossi better then Keith Richard and ronnie Wood
3 Legends, Francis, Rick and Roy...
Amazing. Can't thank you enough for this. You never disappoint!!👍👍🤘🤘🎤🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🏴🏴
Thanks again!
never heard bar chords sound so good.....give em hell fellas!!
Thanks for listening

Must be magic, to start the magic, in the dark, all the crowd waiting for the mighty
And ROY WOOD !!
How does it go "The greatest rock and roll band in the world". 👍👍👍
The number one rock an roll band in the land....will you welcome......
@@Lloyd1885 the magnificent……..Status Quoooooooo

If there was ever a "stretch", this is it !!
Fuck me, that was Roy Wood!

🔥🔥🔥👌
All those marshals And the real sound is vox a 30's

8 days after his (Rick) heart attack, and under strict instructions not to jump around on stage
Did Rick ever jump around onstage? I don't think I ever saw him do that.
@@CB-xr1eg he did it a lot
@@RJA_World show me an example.
@@CB-xr1eg just watch live footage, plenty out there. He even jumped around when I saw them live.
Hey what year was this recorded , i did see a fair few quo gigs at the Brighton center as my home venue...cool video too.
Dec 2011
Sound checks always interesting, what an empty venue Sound like is very different to a packed venue.
part 2 pleeeaassseeeeeeeee
Christ, the sound check is nearly as long as the concert...
obviously i know its from brighton as the title suggests and as a native i know that venue like a second home, but what was this filmed for? ive never seen the footage before!
no lancaster
no coughlan
no status quo!
Yep have to agree
Who is Coughlan? I know a Coghlan.
When comes part 2?
At minute 2:20, none other than the legendary Roy Wood, from The Move, ELO, Wizzard and solo, appears.
living history of rock..!!!!
Don't forget The Nightriders, Roy Wood's Helicopters, and The Wizzo Band.👍

Marshall 4 x 12s: essential kit when you're running IEMs...
Some people (or bands) prefer not to have their guitars through the IEM system.
Was that ROY WOOD at the front speaking to Rick,
yes it was Roy

Still worth seeing?
This must be old cos didn't Rick die about 6 or 7 years ago?
No it's recent, Rick made a comeback, haven't you heard?
